It was a perfect day on the coast with our California relatives. Not too hot so perfect to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine, the view and good food Very relaxed atmosphere and great staff. Full bar and mocktails. And apps to start us off. Just sit and enjoy the view. Yes you are in the street to occasionally a big truck goes by but with the right company who cares. You see the ocean and smell the salt air. Menu is good. Vegan options and of course seafood. It's up there on price both worth it. Indoor and outdoor seating and I believe they bought the building next door with a balcony area but not 100% sure. The food was great and a lot on the plate. The tacos only come with tacos. No fries or rice or side something. Was a bit disappointed but in the end it was ok. Large portions of fish and chips. And did I mention the view. Street parking is available but can be a challenge. Do you know how to parallel park? You might need to park down the road a bit and walk but you can't go wrong with a walk on the beach before or after your meal. read more

One of our summer vacation staples... the Supper Rolls are always a hit. The Haddock tacos were disappointing compared to other local spots- wouldn't recommend those. We ordered a side of the steak medallions (medium well) for a child. The steak we received was blackened and not edible for anyone, let alone a child. It tasted like chemicals- not even seasoned. The server handled it very well and corrected the issue. Wouldn't recommend steak at a seafood place. Stick with scallops or haddock! read more

I hsbentbtried their food yet but it did look tasty from what I could see We ordered the Coupe de Joe and the spicy carrot Margherita. Drinks are made fresh to order and are not pre batched, which says a lot about the bartenders and the quality of drinks. Each time cocktails went out, I saw the bartender taste each one, which goes to show the attention to detail. Highly recommend, whether you're visiting the area or a local. read more

Service was absolutely friendly! Kyle was a great server. We were there in the off-season- mid April - so sitting was fairly quick. We had to Thai muscles. Absolutely off the hook! I had the chicken sandwich, but it was probably left in the deep fryer a little too long. Added honey mustard to it, which brought it back to center. Definitely would go here again. Casual but friendly atmosphere. I have to say their cocktail menu is truly amazing. Would have loved to have tried all of them, but... Definitely will return. read more

I really like this place. I've been a couple of times with a friend who has a house in York. We have sat at the bar each time. The cocktails are top notch! I really like their version of an espresso martini that has rumchata in it. Yum! I've also had a Manhattan, a martini, etc. Always good! For food, the rolls are nice and light. The clam chowder was good, and I love that they had a fish n chips special on Sundays ($16 instead of $26). This restaurant has a great view of the ocean as well. On a recent first time visit to York, we debated several spots and landed here for a short initial wait on a Saturday night in late September. Super glad we waited. Staff was great, drinks and food came out quickly, open garage doors in front allowed beach front feel with a relaxed vibe. The food was excellent. Haddock tacos, burger and chicken sandwich were the best any of us can remember. Fries were lit, beer was cold and cider margarita was worth the trip. Overall, I would tell folks visiting this area, especially off-season, to 'run not walk' to this place for great food, chill vibe and good service. read more

I lived in York for 25 years and am really happy that the place has had a facelift and has a great atmosphere. However I know high prices and good food especially living in Portland now. Both of our meals were quite underwhelming and I paid more than I've paid for a meal of that caliber in a while. Service was good and I might go back for the atmosphere and the beach but hope that my night was a fluke. read more

If I could give this restaurant a 100/10 I would. Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. My husband has been going to York for years, and I did some research for something different. What stood out to us was the burbon selection. The food was out of this world, the cocktails were perfectly crafted. The owner came over and met us, gave us some cocktail advice. I would not recommend this restaurant. Every dish we ordered was far too salty. The Caesar salad didn't even include romaine lettuce which is unusual, and the anchovies on top was not fresh looking. Our mussels arrived undercooked, and when we sent them back, they returned completely overcooked. Only three scallops were served for $34 -- very overpriced. We left the entire salad untouched, yet the waitress ignored it. On top of that, the music was so loud it made the dining experience uncomfortable. read more

Came from California to have Maine Lobster in Maine and this is the first place we ended up trying Maine lobster. It was delicious and better than expected because it was cooked warm and not cold. It had buttery melt in your mouth texture. Definitely worth getting at this place. It was nice that it came with corn and fries but would have been better to get more lobster without those extra sides lol. The crab cakes were yummy and had a unique flavor it wasn't your average crab cakes. The tuna crispy rice bites were just what I wanted excellent flavors! My husband got the chick a pea burger and it was good but a bit too mushy for a patty. It was falling off the bun. Overall the meal was very good and exquisite. The fries were good as well. I wish I lived close by and can afford to eat here all the time since the food is that good. Highly recommend this place! read more

We were hoping to catch the sunset but of course we were rained out so we went to eat instead! Sat outside, of course. Staff was super nice and attentive. Coke products! The fried shrimp with the Buffalo was yummy, I like the sauce on the side. Spicy peanut chicken wings were cooked nicely and had great flavor. When staying at hotel, it's very convenient to have a top of line restaurant downstairs. The food is excellent and the chef only uses top quality ingredients which most or sourced locally. This is our first stop in Maine for dinner every year and it never disappoints! The drinks are always great and we opted for the Sangria and Coco-Rita. We got the sheet pan share as an appetizer which was delicious and more than enough for 2-3 people. The Fish & Chips are always a stand out as well! This restaurant does not take reservations, but don't let that deter you. We got there are around 545 on a Wednesday and the wait was 50 minutes we waited about 40. Worth the wait! Great food, great service & right across from the ocean! Bring a sweater or sweatshirt just in case. We had the California salad delicious ! We also had the burgers (large) & absolutely the BEST French Fries I've ever had so thin & crispy, I couldn't even eat half of mine. Because it was off-season, and likely due to the weather, we were seated immediately, but I imagine that there would probably be a long wait to be seated during peak season. The menu is pretty standard American/New England dining fare. We ordered a bunch of different menu items, but I think the one that stood out to us all was the peanut-crusted chicken wings. Everything else was fine. It's really all about the location when dining here, anyways. You are quite literally across the street from the beach. It's worth dining here for the beautiful views. The staff is very attentive and on top of it. Several different staff members checked on our table regularly to see if we needed anything. Stones Throw was definitely worth the stop. read more

We ordered bang bang broccoli. 3 large heads of apparently steamed broccoli came out with a dipping sauce for a mere $15. I've had bang bang many times and this wasn't even close. Attentive service and great view. Started with a delicious white wine sangria and the mussels appetizer - wine and garlic version. Terrific. Hubby got the poke bowl - average but not fantastic. I got a good lobster roll, but didn't want fries. Trying to eat better so subbed in a side salad. Waiter John said it was $2, but I was charged $3 - not a huge deal but you should know your prices. My biggest issue came with the bill - $113?!?! On closer review we were charged $14 for tenders and $8 for a beer - we didn't have either. Waiter said it was "the wrong bill" but everything else was correct... it was corrected and I certainly hope it was an error, but the cynical part of me doubts that. I wouldn't go back because of this incident. If you do go, I recommend you review every line of your bill before paying. I'll also be watching my bank app to make sure the correct tip is applied. Let me start by saying wow, just wow! I've been coming to york for about 30 years, granted half of that was as a child and with my family.Regardless last year my wife and I started a new chapter by going to stones throw! We loved it, it has great vegan options for her and other great meal options for me, including a few Non-alcoholic beverages which is great since we both don't drink and we feel these options should be more normalized which stones throw achieves. Despite the small internet issues we had with our room and some other small issues, we were greeted with the most welcoming of solutions. The owners had just bought and completely renovated the ever iconic Nevada motel just down the street, despite them only have just received word they can have occupancy they upgraded us to a king room with an ocean view in a virtually empty hotel. the atmosphere was cruise ship like with and islander restaurant and feel, with the same great options as stones throw! The manager Cam and owner Joe made us feel welcome, understood our concerns and easily without issue accommodated us. We will be going back to either place yearly and highly suggest these places!! - Justin read more
