Food is authentic Maine! Amazing cold lobster roll, just the right ratio of Lobster Mayonnaise and flavor, served on the correct square bun! It's outstanding. Today we had the Calamari. It was fresh, moist, and tender. Served with Marinara, or you can choose tartar sauce. We surprised ourselves with how good the cheeseburger was. Had to try it, as it was National Beef Burger Day. Tasty, properly cooked. Fries excellent. Our server, Olivia, had a bright, cheerful personality. Prices a little high for a beach joint. Off the beaten path and we loved it! Having come to this area for years, we have our favorite stops. We try to visit them all, but this trip was different. One of our favorite stops had closed due to seasonal hours, so we decided to hit some other locals places. We were thrilled when we found the Fisherman's Catch last year and decided to go back again this year. We were seated right away and served not too long after. The staff is friendly and attentive. The upscale shack-like atmosphere is on point. We love their lobster paper towel holders that are suspended from the ceiling. I can say that the seating inside is comfortable but I have not been able to try the outdoor seating. So far we have tried the scallops, clam strips, fish sandwich, clam chowder, the fries, the coleslaw, and I'm sure I've forgotten something else. We have been very pleased with everything. When visiting in-season, it's best to get to the restaurant before 5pm. Parking fills up and the line can get long. In late October or early November it is much easier to get a table. Try this place once and I can guarantee you'll be planning a return trip. read more

First, thank you for staying open into the off season!! I just happened across Fisherman's Catch and what a treat it was. I had the whole lobster (1.25lbs) and fried whole belly clams. The meal was absolutely delicious. The service and people were super nice, that includes the server Ani and the kitchen staff. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean and fresh. Despite being off Route 1 in Wells the location is picturesque and quiet due to it being on a dead end road, with just a marina past it. Looks like it's been around for decades and like a Maine seafood shack, rather than a chain restaurant. Menu has expected Maine/New England types of chowder and seafood. First of all, Lobster Roll was $37 dollars with 3 oz of Lobster (if that) and it only came with chips and pickle. Second Clam Roll came with chips not fries, I have never seen that at a seafood restaurant. Fountain Soda was $4.50 that is crazy. I asked if I could have Onion Rings instead of Fries and the server said we don't do that here (I would have paid extra). They did it last year guess they have changed. Thanks to the amazing Yelp community a recent visit had me pick this place to eat. The place was packed at 1:30 in the afternoon almost didn't find a place to park. We opted to sit outside but inside was full. Our waitress Susan M was a ball of energy. We asked for her recommendation and she knew the menu very well and took the time to describe different menu items. My friend and I (at her suggestion) ordered the fisherman's platter scallops, shrimp, clam strips (also a clam belly option) and haddock. It came with Cole slaw and fries. We also each had a fountain drink which was refilled. The scallops were the best I ever had in my life and I have had them right off the boat. The just melted like butter in my mouth. The haddock was also a winner. The shrimp and clams were good. There was a lot for two people . Everything was hot and very fresh even the roll. There was enough leftover for another meal. Market priced I figured would be pricey but the goal bill was 45.00. They split are bill with no problem. Susan also recommended the bread pudding but we were too full that day. Next time. I am a sucker for a good old-timey fish shanty and the Fisherman's Catch is just that. It has all the charm. They even had live music on their outdoor patio. We arrived at about 1ish on a Thursday and the place was packed. I always figure that a full parking lot is a good sign. We ordered light. Just some fried clam strips and a cup of clam chowder. Yes. Yes. Yes. Rich, creamy and flavorful chowder. Not thin, but not thick, just creamy. No extra "stuff" in it. So good. The breading on the strips was a crispy , lights coating. Nice and crunchy. My husband had a cup of clam chowder and the seafood platter: fried haddock, shrimp, scallops and whole belly clams with fries, coleslaw and a roll. He said the chowder was a perfect blend of cream, butter, clams and potatoes. The fried platter was enough for two people so my husband did take a doggy bag with him. My fried calamari also came with coleslaw, fries and a roll. The fried seafood is cooked in fresh clean oil, light in color and tastes delicious. Fisherman's Catch is a favorite of my husband's as he has been coming to visit since he was a kid. I, being a vegetarian, was very reluctant to join him here for lunch, but am glad that I did. It is adorable inside, and the service was great. They really make you want to stay and hang out for a while. He got a huge clam platter and said it was awesome - I had a giant basket of onion rings and was pretty thrilled, too. My only wish was that they had something vegetarian-friendly on the menu (but most seafood places do not). If you love seafood and ambiance, this is your spot! read more

Waze blew us off course on our regular routine going to Maine. After missing an exit, we decided to try something new instead of backtracking. This proved to be an excellent decision! This place looks like a seafood restaurant from the minute you pull up, until you get inside. Paper towels hanging from the ceiling, nice solid wood tables, and delicious looking food everywhere in sight! We were stopping for lunch, so we decided to try their chowder, and split some onion rings and fried clams. The chowder was the best thick chowder I had probably ever had. I could order this by the gallon to take home! The clams were probably the best that I have had all season, and the onion rings were delicious as well. My husband and I happened upon this restaurant while we were out and about exploring in the area during our visit to Maine. Boy, were we glad we stopped in! The place was hopping, but they had the check-in process and wait times well organized and efficient. The place has a total local seafood joint feel to it. Okay, so, this place is ALWAYS busy and parking is super dicey. I recommend putting your name in ahead of time on their online waitlist but BE WARNED, even though it doesn't say anywhere that you have to check in when you arrive, check in at the front desk and tell them you signed up for the online waitlist. We received a recommendation for Fisherman's from a friend who lives locally. We put our names on the waitlist, and by the time we arrived we only had to wait about 30 minutes for our table. Started with the clam chowder, then for our dinner my boyfriend and I split the combo plate (scallop + clam strips) and the haddock bites. All of it was EXCELLENT, and both my boyfriend and I agreed the fried scallops were the best either of us had ever eaten. My boyfriend grew up on Cape Cod so that is definitely a high remark!
