    Beer battered fish fry

Again another amazing dinner on our mini getaway. The beer battered fish fry was very crispy and the haddock was tender.. lobster was tender and amazing.. service was awesome! Dinner with a view

Lobster was fresh and sweet. I enjoyed the stuff lobster but thought the plain one was enough food. Sides were delicious too. Don't skip the cornbread!

Adrienne was a great server. My husband wasn't sure if he would like a particular beer on tap so she bought him a small sample as well as a taste of the mashed potatoes to see if they were to my husband's liking prior to placing his order. I ordered the grilled scallops served with corn, spinach, crispy potatoes, and a light bacon cream sauce. It was very good. My husband ordered the buttermilk chicken special served with mashed potatoes. The cutlet was thin and crisp. It was an enjoyable dinner. Give Robert's a try if you are in the area.

I enjoyed a delightful birthday dinner here. The ambience is really lovely, especially given its location right off the highway and among a major outlet mall area. If you sit in the main dining room, you have a nice view of the pond our back. All of their food is sourced locally where possible, so it was really fresh and delicious. I appreciate that the menu is fairly simple, and I don't think you could go wrong. I enjoyed a few selections from the raw bar as well as the Seafood Newberg. Dessert was so delicious, I ordered one to go.

Really cool spot! It had a casual relaxing vibe located on the water. We ordered a chocolate martini and brewed unsweet tea with The hot Lobster Roll buttered & Cole slaw. I ordered the Chicken scampi. The grilled chicken was great but the pasta was just ok. Hubby said the lobster roll was great but the Cole slaw was not good at all.

Returned after a good experience and not so great. We worked hard to overcome the appalling service we received on arrival from the older lady at the front. She handled their mistake like it was ours...they had the wrong reservation time from Resy. And anyhow she should be trained in customer service. We were so close to walking out. After that the food was lovely. Risotto and lobster club. The rest of the service was good, especially the lady bringing out our food who was on her 1st night. Nice selection of beers. Several reviews say resting on laurels and I'd be worried if it was my business.

When in Kittery, Maine, you MUST go to Robert's Maine Grill! This is a restaurant that I absolutely have to hit every time I go to Maine. Every time. You seriously will not regret it! The seafood is SO fresh here and every dish is literally amazing. I love getting the lobster Mac & cheese, sometimes the lobster risotto for an entree and for apps, the clam chowder for sure & mussels. I've been coming here since I was a kid and they just don't disappoint. It's very cold here in the summer though, so definitely bring a jacket or sweater if you get cold easily like me.

Excellent service and we both loved our sandwiches. I got the Crab & Avocado Melt and my wife for the Haddock Reuben.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated, think coastal vibe, elegant and not kitshy. We were promptly seated and given menus. At 5pm on a Sunday they were out of lobster!!!!! That was shocking! They had dishes that had lobster pieces, but you couldn't order whole or tails. The onion rings look better than they taste, they're just average. The Cesar Brussel sprouts were quite good, but took getting used to the combination of a lot of Cesar dressing...I would other them again. The lobster roll was full, but for a roll I thought quite pricey. The Mac and cheese is made with real cheese, which an 8 year old wouldn't approve off, but adults who are into cheese appreciate. I had the fish and chips. The fish was excellent! Oh, and the corn bread is solid.

    Shrimp Cocktail

Delish! Shrimp cocktail was amazing, huge fresh cold shrimp. Hubby had a steak and enjoyed, I had fish & chips, was good.... Coleslaw was amazing and I'm really picky with coleslaw.

Came here for lunch. The food was excellent. This salad was perfect. Crunchy, perfect dressing and the grill chicken was excellent. My husband ordered a hamburger, and he loved it. Beautiful setting, overlooking the ocean. Service was great too.

Is there a way for people with limited mobility to access the second floor?

Unfortunately, there is no elevator in this restaurant. Near as I could tell when we last visited, the staircase was the only way up to the second floor.

    Are the tables sufficiently distanced?

No at least downstairs there not.

    Is it dog friendly?

No. It's indoor seating and kind of upscale

This quaint gastropub doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside, this seems like a place where locals are regulars and tourists are happy to get a table at this "no reservations" joint. It's dark inside (no photos) and a little cramped. The bartenders are serving double duty mixing and pouring drinks while also playing DJ and spinning vinyl records. And it felt like everyone inside was exactly where they wanted to be at the moment...enjoying each other's company and sharing drinks and food. The menu is about the size you would expect from a small kitchen - a fair number of appetizer dishes meant for sharing, and a handful of entrees, ranging from casual to a bit more refined. The grilled cheese and tomato soup ($19) was made with a hearty artisan bread that hit the spot on a chilly evening. Similarly, the coq au vin ($26) was classic comfort food, with perfectly cooked smashed fingerling potatoes surrounded by a rich, decadent reduction sauce smothering meaty mushrooms and soft pearl onions. Note, the coq au vin did take a long time to prepare, so not the dish to order if you're in a hurry. A couple of not-too-sweet lemon ricotta donuts (with chocolate sauce) was a great way to end the meal.

Well, I'm happy that they were because dinner here was SOOOO good! The bartender helped us choose a bottle of champagne to start. We shared everything. One of each of the deviled eggs each. The maple cranberry was interesting. The sour cream chive one was to die for! The ricotta gnocchi was elegant and fluffy. The sauce made it over the top. The ribs were good, but I'm a Midwest girl. They just don't compare to back home. The clam linguine was seasoned perfectly. It was quite filling. We ended with the Apple Olive Oil cake with maple ice cream. The cake itself was quite dense and dry. The ice cream helped. I would not order this dessert again. Service was quite SLOWWWW, and for no reason as they weren't very busy while we were there. There were long gaps between courses and then once we were finished we kind of just sat there for a while. The food was worth it but something is not running efficiently and could be improved. Still giving 5 starts because it was so good and everyone was welcoming.

We chose seats at the comfortable-looking bar, which was a great spot to start the evening and soak in the warm, antique, historical vibe of the space -- lots of character without feeling stuffy. We also ordered the mussels, which were a standout -- especially the mustard component. I wouldn't have expected mustard to pair so well with mussels, but it absolutely worked and added a surprising depth of flavor. There was also a chicken dumpling special that was comforting, well-seasoned, and very satisfying. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The service at the bar was fantastic. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful when offering advice on what to order, which made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. The food however is overpriced and just doesn't fit the bill. I was surprised to sit down and see a simple steak and potato dinner was $72. I ordered duck and my wife ordered pork belly. The food was alright but neither were meals that we'd want again. Two entrees, two apps, and a single glass of wine. ~$180 with tip. I don't mind spending $200 on dinner - but if I'm spending that much dinner should be stellar. This was just mediocre and I'm honestly surprised it has a 4.5 star rating average. I was just here recently on 06/15/2024 with friends & family. It was such a beautiful day out (finally!!) & they were packed/busy. They had a grill outside that they were grilling up some burgers that smelt amazing. They have a little outside patio that is covered & one that is open. We were told our wait would be 20 minutes but it seemed that we ended up getting seated in less than 20. One negative thing about this place is that they only have 1 bathroom which is unisex so the wait to use the bathroom can be long & there really isn't a good place to stand in line for it. As the kitchen door is right there & then there is a table up against the wall where customers sit. I felt like I was in everyone's way while waiting to use the bathroom....lol There was 7 of us total but only 4 of us showed up first & we were seated outside under the covered patio. Our table wasn't big enough for 7 & the waitress actually asked the 3 girls at the big table next to us if they wouldn't mind switching with us & they had no problem in doing so, luckily they had just drinks & had just placed a food order so it was an easy switch for everyone.....thank you girls!! This did confuse the waitress a little bit once the other 3 showed up when she brought our drinks out to the 4 of us. This visit I got the grilled chicken club which I thought the menu said it was fried but apparently it is grilled which ended up being great because the sandwich was delicious. The chicken was nice & moist. I did omit the cheese & asked for my bacon on the side. Good thing I looked @ my receipt because when our waitress Jess put the order in, the register automictically charged me for "a side of bacon" when the bacon comes on the sandwich, it was an easy fix for her. I also got their homemade potato chips with a horseradish dip which wasn't too spicy. I've gotten their chips in the past, always a hit. Other food items I've had in the past have been their mac & cheese, chicken & lemongrass potstickers, pretzel bites with beer cheese & chicken fingers. Everything has been tasty so far. Jess was an amazing waitress. We didn't wait long for her to take our order, bring our drinks & check on us after we tasted our food. Surprisingly as busy as it was on KBP we didn't wait long @ all for our food. She was able to get all the checks separated as asked for and was very nice & friendly, thank you Jess!! Funny cause for some reason I thought her name was Ashley but my receipt says "Jess H." My friend's & I that I was with, we all know the owners and go way back with them from when they owned another business apx 30yrs ago that we use to venture to frequently. My sister-in-law also knows the owners too. So it's always nice to get to see them & say hello when we stop in. They're great people & definitely do a great job running this place! Keep up the great work guys!! As always, its nice seeing ya! Thank you!

It even says on the bottom of the menu "no substitutes. Our chefs make the menu for a specific purpose." Or something like that. But if that's the case, then I'd like to think the food would be good! Maybe our chef was out or something because it was bland and cooked improperly. First of all, it took forty five minutes just to get appetizers. And then our waitress took another 30 to take our food order. And then it took another hour for our food. We were there for three hours. Which is fine, but we were starving!!! The drinks were delicious but one was a bottle of wine, so that seems like the bare minimum. Beside service being slow (our waitress nice but very busy), let's get into the food which was the most disappointing thing... the flatbread was dry. The Brussel sprouts were good but the lardons were hard as a rock (clearly they cook things too long here). The salmon was good but portions seemed small. The soup was fine. The steak was supposed to come medium rare, but as you can see, it was closer to medium well (for $48 that is upsetting and embarrassing they couldn't cook a steak properly). My aunt got the chicken dish and she said it was the blandest thing she's ever had. But the biggest issue was the burger... It was my dad's birthday. So it was extremely frustrating when the burger, the thing he ordered, came out black. And there is a picture of it if you want to take a look. BLACK. Why bring it out? That is so bad on the restaurant! Our waitress immediately came over and said "we are making a new bun right now." So why bring it out? And the fries were cold. Same with my mom's haddock (everything was cold). He also asked for the burger to be medium rare and it was quite literally gray. I think when you go to a nice restaurant, you expect good food. And it was disrespectful to my father on his birthday. Thank goodness they took it off our bill (for that we are grateful), but clearly the kitchen needs some assistance because it ruins the experience when everyone is waiting to eat because one dish is done wrong. And clearly done wrong. It's expensive to go out nowadays. I'm not spending money on food that is mediocre at best. This was frustrating. Thank goodness for the nice view otherwise I feel like this restaurant wouldn't exist. sadly we won't be coming back and waiting weeks for this dinner was not worth it. Don't waste your money here. Or go for cocktails. That was at least good.
