    Korean steak tips
    Don K.

This local spot was recommended by a concierge during the busy Thanksgiving week. Not a lot open as winter chokes out the season. Reservations are not taken and we got there just before a crowd came in. A decent beer selection and the wine list was so-so. We chose two starters: the whipped feta with pita points and the haddock chowder. The feta dip was unique and flavorful. The tangy whipped feta was tempered with a drizzle of honey and pine nuts. Very good. The warm bowl of chowder had fish pieces that held up to the base but were not chunky and overpowering. Nicely seasoned and not too thick. My wife went with the Korean steak tips served with a choice of two sides; she opted for the side salad with balsamic vinaigrette and the garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was ordered at medium temp and was served medium rare. The mashed potatoes were--beware-- very garlicky with occasional minced pieces of garlic whipped in. The potato consistency was slightly gritty. We both agreed that the salad AND the balsamic vinaigrette was far from ho-hum. My choice was the scallop and shrimp casserole- browned bread crumbs over buttery seafood pulled hot from the oven in individual foil pans. The entree was very good and served with my salad choice and roasted chunks of tasty butternut squash. Our server was friendly and attentive. Though the seating was a bit bunched up, we could still have a conversation and interior noise was not overwhelming.

Great service and ambiance and the caesar salad and fettuccine alfredo w chicken cutlet were perfect!

We came from out of town on a busy Friday night. We didn't want to wait 45 minutes for a table, so we opted to place a take out order. Our food came out in 15 minutes and was some of the best chicken parm I've ever had. I LOVED this place.

    Haddock Milanese

My husband and I spent our 4th wedding anniversary at Central and it was a wonderful experience! We had a lovely server who gave us great suggestions, I had a delicious haddock Milanese and he had the chicken Parm, both very good! It was a lovely way to spend a special day with great food in a cool space!

    Salmon special!!!

Oh my goodness!!! My favorite food in the area. I was visiting Ogunquit and we came for dinner. Expect a wait because even the locals come here! I had the salmon special with a corn creamy sauce made with tarragon!!! GEESH-good! I could've licked the plate but I refrained. I'm posting a pic!!! For sure-go here! My husband got the meatballs. So moist and tasty-huge portions!

This was a fantastic surprise. I happened to be in the area, and found this restaurant on Yelp. Glad I did! My dinner guest and I loved the place before we were seated. Great decor, terrific lighting, and the kind of casual and relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. Our server, Niki, was super-friendly and helpful throughout our meal. We ordered several sides and split a burger. First out were the meatballs. Three giant meatballs covered in delicious sauce, cheese, and pesto. Tender, savory, perfect. Next up was whipped feta with honey and dates. Pita triangles were used to scoop up the feta, and the combination was amazing. Like savory Greek yogurt, but better! The fried Louisiana fried shrimp were fantastic, served with a mango chili dip. The truffle fries were hot and crispy, perfectly seasoned (generously) with intense truffle flavor, and served with a fabulous garlic aioli. We chose to split the pastrami burger, which was incredible - familiar flavors all pulled together into one delicious burger. I have a feeling this is a gem for locals around York. If I lived here, this would be a regular go-to place for me. When the check came, I thought they made a mistake; for the quantity and quality of the food, this was an absolute bargain. Truly one of the best meals I've had in a long time, and you can't beat the ambiance and service! If you're near York, Maine, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't be disappointed!

So I looked them up and saw the adult happy meal on the menu and knew I had to try them. An hour and half drive was 100000% worth it!!! The entire building is small but feels very inviting and comfortable. The atmosphere is iconic with out of this world 90s cartoons painted on the walls. Even the bathroom had a touch of this nostalgia and whimsy (trust me look in the bathroom mirror for an amazing little touch). The staff were equally amazing and truly wonderful. I am currently pregnant and being very careful about what I eat so my husband asked the bartender/waiter if the feta is pasteurized. Most people would have simply said I don't know and moved on but this fellow went and asked the kitchen if the feta is pasteurized (it is). It's little things like that that make us want to go back. Now on to the star the food and drink! We had the soft pretzel which comes with beer cheese and stone ground honey mustard and the fried feta. The pretzel was great and the beer cheese was also great but the feta was indescribable. Every aspect of the feta was perfect and a true umami experience. I got the adult happy meal (a smash burger, chicken nuggets, and fries). It also comes with a toy which is just cherry on top status. The burger was fantastic BUT the fries and nuggets were crazy good. My husband got Flo's Double Burger and he had eaten half of it before I got mine out of the box. He would have eaten two of them if he wasn't so full! He also got the I gotta say... today was a good day sour ale. He loved it and enjoyed it enough we left with a four pack! This is the perfect Maine hidden gem and we will be back soon!

No big deal, I was a party of one, and they were quite busy on the Saturday night that I went. Service is impeccable, really no complaints there. The food came out fast, even though they were quite busy. The food was great as well, though I wasn't a particularly big fan of the wood-fired beets (if you like horseradish on beet, you would like them). Fried oysters were great, I mean really good. Spaghetti with guanciale is absolutely incredible; key lime pie similarly amazing. Overall, I'll be back here. Plan to spend at least $50 per person. What a great location.

We understood it would be a limited holiday brunch menu instead of the regular dinner menu, which was fine. However, by the time we sat down to order, almost all of the options were already sold out. Our entire table basically had to order the exact same thing because there was nothing else left. The space is lovely and it's a nice spot for a regular dinner, but they were definitely not equipped for the holiday rush. Don't go for Mother's Day.

This quaint gastropub doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside, this seems like a place where locals are regulars and tourists are happy to get a table at this "no reservations" joint. It's dark inside (no photos) and a little cramped. The bartenders are serving double duty mixing and pouring drinks while also playing DJ and spinning vinyl records. And it felt like everyone inside was exactly where they wanted to be at the moment...enjoying each other's company and sharing drinks and food. The menu is about the size you would expect from a small kitchen - a fair number of appetizer dishes meant for sharing, and a handful of entrees, ranging from casual to a bit more refined. The grilled cheese and tomato soup ($19) was made with a hearty artisan bread that hit the spot on a chilly evening. Similarly, the coq au vin ($26) was classic comfort food, with perfectly cooked smashed fingerling potatoes surrounded by a rich, decadent reduction sauce smothering meaty mushrooms and soft pearl onions. Note, the coq au vin did take a long time to prepare, so not the dish to order if you're in a hurry. A couple of not-too-sweet lemon ricotta donuts (with chocolate sauce) was a great way to end the meal.
