Really don't understand the negative reviews here. Maybe the quality of the food just depends on what you order! Views are gorgeous, server was soo friendly, and the food was DELICIOUS. Only complaint is it's pretty expensive. We got the fish and chips and I think this place wins best fish and chips in the Seattle area for me! You can tell the cooks know how to work a fryer, the fries and the fish were perfectly fried. The tartar sauce was delish as well- even the ketchup tasted better than I was expecting! We also got the salmon dip- it was so yummy. Just wish it came with more bread. This is where the expensive complaint comes in- the server told us we could get extra bread for like $3. That's crazy considering how pricey this place is already! We also got the milkshake and I would definitely skip it next time. You can't go wrong with a milkshake but they are just way too expensive to just taste like a regular chocolate milkshake.

We came to Boathouse 19 on Mother's Day, so rightfully so, it was extremely busy. Luckily, there's a bar right beside it where we had a few drinks while waiting for the reservation to be called which was nice. Food was good, a little greasier than expected, but quality was definitely there. Staff was so polite and sweet, even offering the mothers at the table a glass of champagne for the day.

Salmon salad (after I took a bite). It was fine.

Came in on a Wednesday at 5:30 pm. Sunny day so there were a lot of other tables but no wait to be seated (plenty of parking in the lot even though it was busy). We thought about sitting outside but decided against it. The host took us to a table in the center of the room because all the windows along the windows were taken, still good views. Restaurant was busy - lots of people enjoying the weather, quite a few tables with kids. Ordered an Arnold Palmer ($6.50 - note the labor meant it was more than both the lemonade $5 and iced tea $4) and husband got Diet Coke. Also tried the fried pickles $10 and a salmon salad $34, husband ordered the big plate pan fried oysters $32 and inquired about if it came with sides. The server said it came with coleslaw and fries but could be replaced for just coleslaw or just fries or additional charge salad or chowder. He opted for coleslaw. Fried pickles were good, we were both a little disappointed they were sweet pickles but we liked the aioli. I was disappointed that my salad came with farro but the farro was like, a garnish? Crunchy small bits of farro. I make a farro salad regularly and it's so easy to have nice farro (cooked 30 mins then saved in fridge to add to salads). The salmon was cooked well. My husband was disappointed in his fried oysters. It was a big platter but mostly empty with a small pile of fried oysters and then a cup of red cabbage with some light dressing. Very disappointing plate. We had revolving sushi with our kid the day before for the same cost, and it was a better experience than our date night. Husband grabbed fast food directly after and I just wanted something more special when we left, but didn't figure something out before heading home. Service was adequate, drinks ran out but they did eventually refill. Wished I came by the end of March for the happy hour deals because this wasn't anything special. Definitely more of that overpriced family restaurant with views vibe. Don't go for food - stick to chowder and fish n chips. 3 stars because I probably will go back for views and I can take my kids there, if needed.

Great food, the po'boy especially was fantastic and I like the big pieces of clams in the chowder. Prices are pretty good too, not nearly as expensive as some other near by places. There is a cool little dock behind the restaurant you can take a walk down after words and see the jelly fish, crabs, and occasional octopus.

Dock and Dine!!! Dock and Dine!!! Dock and Dine!!! Dock and dine per rules of the Tacoma Marina. Wow!!! We been wanting to dine at Boathouse 19 for a while. Today we finally did and we were not disappointed. We had the Steamed Clams, Dungeness Crab Dip, and the Mahi Mahi Tacos. We were very much impressed with the food! We ate outside out on the deck. The deck over looks the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. A very beautiful view! The service was fast and prompt. Where the staff were nice and friendly. The only downside was their Lemon Aid. It was syrup and not freshly made. Other than that.... We will be returning here soon!!!

Beautiful restaurant. Super friendly service and yummy food. Made an order to go for the brewery next door. I had two mahi mahi tacos. Served on a flour tortilla with a delicious white sauce. A piece of grilled Mahi mahi and a side of coleslaw. The chowder super perfect! Just enough buttery flavor with clams, potatoes and bacon. Definitely a winner! We had to ask permission to take our order to go but that's ok. Super friendly staff and a couple shots of Patron made waiting easy. Enjoy your life! Eat good food! SYOY!

I like boathouse 19 for the atmosphere and the view. It is probably one of the most scenic spots to hang out on the outer sound, when the weather is nice. I have been here several times previously but had only had drinks, so this was my first time having a meal. I was pretty disappointed with the food. The pan fried oysters were listed under the "large plate" entree section. And for $32 I expected a full sized meal, but it was fairly small. The food itself was fine flavor wise, but not to the standard I would like for the price. I spent over $100 total for two people and we left hungry and went to chick fillet afterwards. I still like boathouse 19 as a hang out spot and will still come back again, but next time I'll just stick to drinks or small snacks from the app menu.

Ordered the combo, shrimp, fish and calamari and tomato soup.

As many times as I've traveled to Fort Lewis I haven't eaten here. The view, food and service were amazing. I arrived at 630 local time bye myself and had a 25 minute wait. Highly recommend

A nice view from my table.

Ask the Community - Boathouse 19

Boathouse 19 is a great place to relax and eat. So what happened to the other 18 boathouses?

LOL thats a great question. Well its Boathouse 19 because its on 19th St. Sorry to give you the boring answer.

    Do they take reservations?

I'm not sure when we went we were able to get seated right away.

Is it typically crowded? I cannot see how I can make a reservation for a Saturday night.

Unless something has changed, they do not accept reservations. It can be crowded during "typical" meal times--the wait for an outdoor table can be pretty bad. I would try to go to an early dinner, be willing to sit indoors or outdoors, and/or just…

Great food? Super service. I'd go back.

Yes, fine food. I reviewed on 4/19/2017.

We arrived around 4:30-40ish on a Sunday and we were seated quickly at the patio. They had plenty of seating in the patio and even had umbrellas in case the sun was too much. Luckily it was the perfect weather with a nice little breeze. The hostess offered us waters for our dogs and even asked if they needed one or two bowls. We opted for two bowls just in case as our male dog drinks a lot. We love that the menu was concise and that they had their specials on a little display on the table. I decided that I wanted to try out more of the menu and orders a strawberry lemonade, steamed clams, Bang Bang shrimp, bowl of clam chowder and a S'mores cheesecake to share with everyone. For the entrees, we ordered two of the smoked seafood fettuccine, kickin' chicken burger, and the Connecticut lobster roll. It did take some time for our entrees to arrive so I'm glad I bought the appetizers as we were hungry. However, the drinks were all refreshing and the food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My only gripe is that the coleslaw was a bit off for me but at least I know to get fries or another substitute. The cheesecake was also a good size and I love that they toasted the marshmallows. Everyone, including the birthday boy left full and satisfied. I also was able to use their new Toast reward system with no issues. Our server Dallas was very professional and friendly with us. She would check in at appropriate times despite how busy the patio was getting. She even handled an extremely rude and entitled guest with precise professionalism.

The restaurant is clean and tidy with an organized and cozy atmosphere. The tables aren't crammed together and it's not crazy loud at this time of day. However, I think it would be loud on a packed Friday night and getting a wheelchair or a person with mobility problems into a table that's not on the outside of the aisle would be difficult. City views are great. Probably very pretty at night. Waterfront views are decent, boasting the bridge and beautiful city that lies beyond it. Service is cordial, but not overly friendly. We were greeted immediately upon arrival inside and promptly after we were seated. Seating took about 7 minutes from arrival time and water was brought less than 5 minutes from being seated. We were served by Lavetta and she was absolutely amazing. We ordered the Maine lobster roll and subbed clam chowder as a side for $5 extra. At $37 a plate I had high hopes. We also ordered the seafood dip and two pops. The lobster was stuffed to the gills! It looked very mediocre until I bit into it and realized how much meat was in that little roll. The bread was warm and the lobster perfectly dressed. It wasn't drowning in mayo or soggy with filler. The seafood dip was creamy, flavorful and cheesy. It comes topped with chives, a cute halved cherry tomato and a fresh, warm, crusty baguette. The clam chowder is rich creamy and THICK, but came lukewarm. No clue what their hot holding temperatures are, but this was not giving "fresh from the pot" vibes. With the tip, we got out for about 85$. Pretty pricey but the portion of lobster was worth the price.

I ordered the Connecticut Lobster Roll ($42), which came with warm lobster on a buttery roll and a side of house-made potato chips.
