I was so wrong, they let me know that it might be late(6 -8pm) but they would definitely come tonight. They arrived after 7pm, gave me the Diagnostic and fixed it. Not only did the technician replace the amp that went out, but I also had a smart thermometer/thermostat that I wanted to have installed but had not made an appointment for he was able to do both very efficiently and I would say in about an hour and a half. This also included allowing me to paint behind the new thermostat so that the wall paint matched. I feel like this appointment was one of the most efficient.
