Good, I ate here once a few years ago and I liked it. It's always packed but that just means they have good food.

Food was great! Atmosphere was pleasant. Service was very friendly, helpful with menu suggestions. Would go there again!

Local Goat? More like the Local Joke. Waiter said they're known for their burgers. I guess I should have had him clarify if they're known for having GOOD burgers. Beef patty in the burger was not juicy and lacked flavor. Fudruckers does a much better burger. Whipped sweet potatoes were mushy, over blended, and had the consistency of baby food. I was only able to eat a few bites, very unappetizing. As a positive, the coconut shrimp was crispy and cooked perfectly. I intentionally avoid the Applebees restaurant tier, but I somehow got an Applebees quality meal while paying Texas Roadhouse prices. My only regret I that this review doesn't include a photograph of the limp, spongy fries. A picture is worth thousand words. read more

5th time to eat at this restaurant and it never disappoints. You have to get there early as there is almost always a wait but we'll worth it. If just a twosome grab a seat at the bar and have dinner as my wife and I did on our last visit. Had the fried green tomatoes, fried deviled eggs, and shrimp with grits. Ate here with my sisters during a short vacation. Deviled eggs recommended by server n accepted by me. Deviled eggs came with a soggy rubbery fried egg white, totally unnecessary to a lack luster deviled egg. I sent it back b/c this cannot be what the server expected us to get. It comes again the same way, rubbery soggy and lack luster. Must have been something pushed by the kitchen. Various other dishes were ordered including awful grits. I didnt return them but i certainly didnt take another taste. My sister spilled her almost full drink n tho food carriers n our waitress saw all this, made no attempt to clean up or assist us. I asked for more napkins to clean it myself. After 10 minutes i went to the ladies room myself to get paper towels to clean my own table and booth seat. Recommend by locals. Just didn't enjoy the Bloody Mary, everything else was good! A bit pricey but I'd say worth it for the portions. A 30 minute quoted wait time on a Saturday at noon in the off season and they got us in a booth 15 minutes sooner. read more

I never wanted to do this but, my husband and I came in after I got off of work which was about 8 pm on January 11th. My husband ordered the bruschetta and I ordered the shrimp and lobster ravioli. They will text you when your table is clean and ready. Our waiter was Jeff, he was phenomenal. He clearly knew the menu and was very helpful when ordering. The first time we went here, everything was really good. I don't remember which burger I got, but my wife got the burger with goat cheese. The fries were excellent. However, this trip I decided to be brave and try the Elvis Burger. The burger itself was good and cooked to perfection, but the fried bananas were small and dry and seemed like they had been out of the fryer a long time. They were not crispy and the bananas did not taste sweet nor ripe. The peanut butter also did nothing for me. If anything, it made things worse. The fries were excellent once again. We started with the fried deviled eggs. Like the fried bananas on the Elvis burger, they were not crispy at all. And the tiny piece of "candied" bacon on top of the egg was so unsubstantial that it may as well not even been there. For dessert, we got the white chocolate bread pudding with ice cream. Overall, it was very good, but I'm not a big bread pudding fan. I didn't taste a lot of white chocolate, if any at all. There was also what seemed to be mini Reese's cups in the ice cream, which was fine but not expected and seemed a little out of place for what it was. The dessert itself was pretty substantial and should be considered shareable. That being said, our server didn't bring out small plates for everyone even though she brought out four spoons. Given how wide the tables are, it was hard to share without making a mess because the cold ice cream was melting quickly on the hot (almost too hot) bread pudding. I would still recommend the Local Goat, but stay away from the fried deviled eggs and Elvis burger. read more

Went for an early dinner. No waiting for a table for two. Hostess and waitstaff were helpful and friendly. Deep fried deviled eggs are a must have! I had the BGT burger. The combination of bacon jam and goat cheese was heavenly. Shoestring fries were crisp and plentiful. I noticed there was no salt or pepper on the table, but the food was seasoned to perfection! Stopped back and had the Milton "burger", really an Ahi tuna burger with smoked bacon and garlic jalapeno aioli. This thing is the official tuna burger of the gods...yes, it's that incredible. I subbed cheesy grits for fries, then proceeded to lick the bowl clean- no joke, licked the bowl clean. If you need pure happiness in your life, get a bowl of this stuff. Consistency is there. Service is above and beyond (Shout out to Janice). Beverage selection is immense. And the quality of the food is higher than the mountains that surround this place. Came to "Local Goat" while attending a car show preceding the famous "Rod Run". After reading the reviews, I thought this place is a slam dunk. I've never seen the as many positive reviews on any one site. In fact I actually thought it was slightly suspicious. At any point, I'm in Peigon Forge what the heck. I ordered Ribs, my wife salmon. All I can say, to be nice, is both were editable. The ribs were slathered in BBQ sauce, The salmon was overcooked. The service was substandard and attention to customer needs was non existent. We were told about how the owner was there daily and had a hand in each dish. We were told about how hard he worked to make "Local Goat" the best restaurant around. I have always admired hard working people and if true, it pains me to have to give "Local Goat" 2 stars (actually 2.5 stars if i could). I honestly feel they must solicit high reviews, the food and service don't reconcile with reviews. Honestly, I actually prefer the "Texas Roadhouse" just down the street and yes I know what your thinking, I know what a good restaurant is. The "Local Goat" is average at best. Don't get caught off guard with all the 4-5 star reviews. read more

The G.O.A.T. (Greatest of all time) is about right!!! The most charismatic waiters and KILLER cuisine I had the bbq chicken sandwich (added pimento cheese-- YUM) and my mom had the Alfredo. We split the white chocolate bread pudding and it was *chefs kiss*!! Do yourself a favor and just skip all these touristy restaurants and make the Local Goat a Smoky Staple!!!!! We drive by this place many times and every time it was packed. We were intrigued but being so busy we went to other restaurants. While shopping at the outlet mall, a cashier told us how great the restaurant was. We tried to make a reservation online but none were available. We tried for the next day, none were available. We decided to just go and see how long the wait was. I walked in and my companion was going to loop around thinking the wait would be long. I went in and asked how long was the wait. She said I can seat you now. I was shocked. We were seated to a table. The waitress Mellonie was GREAT!!!!!! She represents this restaurant so well. She tells you all the wonderful things they offer and how it is all made from scratch including the ketchup. We had the deep fried deviled eggs. They were ok. A little bland but you need the sriracha and it helped a lot. (We originally got it on the side.) We split the half slab of ribs. Everything was good but the fries and ribs were not hot. The ribs were hotter on the bottom We told her about the fries and she went and got new fries. They weren't as hot as I would like but much better. We enjoyed everything. Food comes out fast. The perfect sweetness paired with some heat; shrimp cooked perfectly. My daughter had the hot wings and raved about them. My husband had the ribs. The burger was good. The service however was awful. They leave dirty tables for 2 plus hours. Food took over an hour and the server check on us. I was trying to take my fiancé for a nice birthday dinner and they ruined the night. On top of that the bar staff was rude and unattentive.
