I've come here for years, always a fun atmosphere, with good food, not fantastic but good & hearty. This time the food was not good at all. A very bad experience. The pancakes are dried and rubbery, they made fresh, those were just rubbery. I refused to eat them. Our waitress offered something else in place, I got fruit, fruit was not fresh. Just can't win. My eggs were barely warm, but they did scramble them the way I asked. My husband's over easy eggs were ok. But none of them had any seasoning on them. Our home fries were very bland, not even salt, but they were hot. They don't use real butter they use this oily gross "spread" that some of them were open, and it did not taste good at all! Every several minutes, the chickens will bawk-bawk-bawk along to a familiar song, like YMCA by The Village People or Let's Go to the Hop by Danny & the Juniors. It's very fun and entertaining. And kind of loud! When the chickens are performing, it can be difficult to talk to the people at your table. The food at Frizzle Chicken Cafe is fine, but honestly, the food is secondary to the spectacle of the chickens. I visited with a small group, and we all got something different. I got the avocado toast with over-medium eggs, and it was just OK. The bread was not toasted almost at all, it came with feta cheese (not my favorite) and diced tomatoes and a balsamic drizzle. One person at the table got the cinnamon roll pancakes, and they looked good but very sweet. Apparently, the chicken and waffles is the thing to get, but no one at the table felt in the mood to eat chicken, so I didn't get the opportunity to taste them. Mostly, Frizzle is a breakfast joint, but they do have a small selection of lunch items, like chicken tenders and a chicken sandwich. Bathrooms were okay-- there was some toilet paper all over the floor and no paper towels in the holder, but I'm sure those are things they were probably taken care of since it was closer to closing time. The dining room seemed fairly clean though. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating, even with the sling for the carseat in the middle of the walkway. Make sure to ask abut the toppings for waffles and pancakes as they aren't listed on the menu. I got chicken and waffles with crushed oreos and husband got chicken and cinnamon bun pancakes. He was able to change the waffle to pancakes (I think there was an up charge, but worth it). The waffle was a pretty dry but still tasted good. The pancakes were the winner of our meal. The good: Frizzle Chicken Cafe looks like a red barn on the outside and their theme is a farm/barn setting. The inside has a wooden decor and several animatronic chickens with super funny names.
