We have been coming to this Buddy's for years, and they have always been consistently good. Hubby picked up 1, 1/2 pounds of ribs, 1 pound of pulled pork, and a qt of coleslaw Saturday, The slaw, and pork were delicious, BUT the ribs were salty, over cooked, and tasted like they were sitting in beef broth, it was disappointing!!! After craving some local barbecue, we ended up at Buddy's Bar-B-Q-Sevierville. We initially thought it was a one-off spot, only to discover it's part of a local chain. We went with the Trio Dinner (pork, chicken and ribs) with sides of baked beans and fries, and a Chicken Dinner with baked beans and slaw. The barbecue was reminiscent of what we get back in Texas, with a slight flavor twist--more Tex-Mex at home versus the more straightforward, classic Tennessee-style here. Honestly, there was nothing extraordinary about it--it's what you'd expect from a fast casual barbecue place. It wasn't bad, but we were hoping for something more unique or special, given that we're in Tennessee. It filled us up for a late lunch, but probably won't make a return visit. What really stood out, though, was the warm lady behind the counter. Her genuine Southern hospitality made all the difference here worth the 3-star rating. That's about it--nothing more to add. This was a fun little stop on our way home. They also have a drive thru and ample parking located in the shopping center. The pulled pork and brisket were good and a cheap option while on the go for bbq. The Mac and cheese was very good and creamy with quality cheese. Like a lot of fast BBQ places, you order at the counter and come get your trays of food to your table. So it is really hard to score the "service". The person taking the order was polite and friendly. Now let's get down to the food. We chose this BBQ place because they had the flat bone ribs vs. baby back. We ordered a full slab to split (2 of us). A baked potato for me and baked beans abd potato salad for him. The ribs were a bit tough (chewy) I kinda like mine that way but this was a little too much. He didn't like them much at all and said the baked beans tasted like cheap outta the can. Potato salad was okay and the baked potato, although very large, wasn't very hot and that is a pet peeve of mine. The place was easy to find (hence the huge billboard showing you where to turn) The price point wasn't too bad for a tourist town. All things considered, we will pass next time. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would!!! The food was great but the staff and cleanliness was AMAZING! There was an older gentleman in there eating he was on a walker they made sure he had everything refills, napkins, you name it and when he went to leave the young lady even walked him out and put his walker in his trunk! This type of care is not just customer service it's live and compassion my daughter thanked her for caring enough to do that she said oh no worries that's what we should do! We have been coming to Pigeon Forge twice a year for several years and have passed by Buddy's bar-b-q and always wanted to stop in. We finally made the stop this trip. First, the pricing is affordable for BBQ. My wife and I got the Trio Beef Dinner to share. This came with sliced brisket, pulled pork, and two ribs. Sides were hush puppies, coleslaw, and corn on the cob The price with a drink was $22.89. Again, not bad for bbq. Now my review. We ate in. The place is very clean and respectable. Workers were great. For the food. The ribs were great! Great smoke flavor and really good tasting without any extra sauce added. Although, the sauce was really good too. The brisket, sliced really thin, had a very nice smoke ring, but was just kind of bland. I'm sorry to say this because it looked really good. It seems as to keep it moist after cooking, it was sliced and put in beef broth or another liquid to keep it from drying out. This pulled out any smoke flavor it had. I had to use the sauce to give it flavor. The pulled pork was the same as the brisket. It looked great but was bland and needed the sauce to give it flavor. The sides were all really good. I loved the coleslaw. We have been to several of the other bbq places around here that don't compare to Buddy's. Yes there were a couple of issues, but it was still worth the stop. One last thing. I was going to buy a tee shirt while we were here. I decided against it because all it said was Buddy's bar-b-q. You should really think about putting your logo on the shirt. You have a great logo. We have eaten at buddy's for years at this location and one prior in the cabin. We decided to try out the smoked turkey to give our family more time to relax and enjoy the day. The store has a convenient online ordering and payment platform and allow you to order sides and anything else you might need for your Thanksgiving dinner. You can usually order about a week ahead of time to reserve your prized bird. The turkey smelled amazing even before we quickly reheated it. I'm, usually, 100% satisfied with Buddy's food but today was the exception. My wife's Brisket was less than warm and my pulled pork sandwich was the same temperature (less than expected). Our french fries were also "old" tasting, cool, and tough. My baked beans were the usual 100% great. I guess every restaurant has an off day but I hate that I had to pay for it. Decent fast food bbq with a good price point. Large Brisket sandwich was very good but not stuffed with meat. Pulled pork platter was a little dry, mild, not Smokey but still tasty. Great staff and the price to portion ratio was phenomenal! We need a Buddy's in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I have celiac as well and they were knowledgeable about changing gloves and making accommodations. I ate here 3 times in the week we were in Tennessee. I don't know if I should be embarrassed by this or if it speaks to how great it was I had the pulled pork, green beans, baked beans and about 36 gallons of tea every time. It goes great with hot, sweaty hiking. I did not feel like I was "glutened" on any trip. Ordered on-line carry out (no phone orders/ no one answers phone and message pushes you to online site which is pretty user friendly) from this location for my family on our last night in the Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge/ Sevierville area. We ordered two 6 piece wing combos with fries, two half smoked chicken platters, a pulled chicken platter and some extra sides (fries, corn, green beans and hush puppies). The location is about a half hour drive from the main parkway in Pigeon Forge but located around a lot of other stores so it makes it a good location for family pick up if you are running some other errands and they have a drive through window. When I got to the store, my food was ready but I could not get to it bc of the line to order and No one was manning the online pick up order area. So, I got in line and waited close to 20 minutes to pick up food that I had already paid for and was watching get cold. I will say that the young man working the counter was pleasant and genial despite dealing with a high maintenance customer (like the one I was stuck behind). When I finally got to the front he apologized for the wait and even offered me a free drink for my wait. I grabbed my food and headed back to our cabin, only to find that some of the orders were wrong (should have checked before I left). One meal was missing a side and another had the wrong sides plus bc of the wait, the fries and hush puppies were cold and soggy. The smoked meats were good with a strong smoky flavor and my sons really liked the wings and the green beans were better than most places. Can't say whether I will go back or not but would recommend if you go, to skip online ordering and order in person and wait. read more

Everyone who works here is a shining example of friendliness and efficiency. Our order today was taken with a smile, served up quickly and correct , and we did not wait long. The portions were as good as the food. For this lunch, I had the green beans (tasty & not overcooked), slaw (moist with a hint of sweet), and pulled chicken (just a touch dry, but sauce helped). Husband had corn on the cob (perfect), beans (just right), and pulled pork (touch dry). The hush puppies were good, and if we had wanted more, someone came around to all the tables to deliver more. The place is clean and welcoming. We liked sitting at a booth with a large window. Four TVs were available if we had wanted to look at more than the view outside. We visit Sevierville 6 times a year, and every visit includes at least one meal here, by ourselves, with another couple or in a group. It's always good!! read more

Everything is spic and span and when you walk in, great service from beginning to end. Their menu board has every choice of pork, beef, turkey, chicken that you could ask for. My choice was the half of smoked chicken dinner with two sides and hush puppies. I chose the potato salad and green beans. Everything was absolutely delicious. My husband opted for the ribs with coleslaw and baked beans. Very filling meals with great flavor. A half a chicken meal was $8.50 and I believe his ribs were 12.99. And get this, on Saturday, for the same price, you can get unlimited ribs. Be sure and save room for dessert. Hot fudge cakes, lemon meringue pie, ice cream several different ways.
