This place is AMAZING. Easy 6 stars for food and service. I've had dozens of Nashville Hot chicken sandwiches, including a few in Nashville and NONE even come close to what the Local Goat serves. There fresh handmade pasta dishes are next level too. Our server (Travis?) said he'd only been there a few weeks but was friendly, attentive, and had expert knowledge of the menu. This place offers lots of opportunities for seating and can accommodate big groups. They also offer a full bar. The staff was always hustling and super friendly. The menu has lots of options to choose from. Pork chops, fish and chips, burgers and more. The spicy chicken sandwich was excellent. Just the right amount of heat and sweet. My boyfriend, brother, and I stopped by The Local Goat after a long weekend snowboarding, even driving about an hour out of our way because of how great our previous experience had been. Back in August, my boyfriend and I had an amazing visit at the bar. The bartender (I wish we remembered his name) was fantastic, thoughtful with recommendations and incredibly hospitable. After recently relocating from Southern California, we thought we had found our new favorite spot. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to that first experience. Our server, Eli R., seemed rushed from the start. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, a salad to share, and our entrees, and asked for the meal to be coursed out. Despite that request, everything arrived within a couple of minutes of each other. By the time we worked our way to the entrees, they had already cooled down. The service continued to feel hurried throughout the meal. Our check was brought out without any mention of dessert, though my boyfriend decided to order one anyway. When I asked to add an espresso martini afterward, Eli visibly crumpled the receipt in front of us and seemed frustrated before going to get my cocktail. That moment unfortunately sealed what had already been a disappointing experience. Given how much we enjoyed our first visit, this one was a letdown. While we had previously considered The Local Goat a new favorite after moving here, this experience makes it hard to justify going out of our way to return. read more

Food: Fried deviled eggs, BBQ shrimp for appetizer was delicious. If I'm nitpicking, the deviled could have had a bit of sugar and touch of salt, but I appreciated the plating of both dishes. I had the Fettuccini Rocco. That was really good! I certainly could not eat it all. There are some good onions, tomatoes, and spinach in there. My family enjoyed their dishes as well. Visiting Pigeon Forge for spring break with the kiddos. Went here based on literally EVERY locals recommendation. Lyft driver, hotel check in guy, waiters at other establishments, basically every local you ask will point you to local goat so of course we had to go. Happy to say we were not disappointed! When we got there obviously every tourist was told to come here because the place was packed!!! We were told it would be a 30-45 min wait which turned out to be more like 20 mins! Our waitress Kate was amazing! Service is not lacking in Pigeon Forge I guess it being a tourist town and all! Anyway back to local goat...got the steak nachos. 4/5 - steak was nice and tender but I'm used to warm tortilla chips and hot cheese which these were lacking. I got the Billy burger with bacon. Cooked to perfection but no seasoning whatsoever. Fries were ok. Son had the TN glazed burger which he thoroughly enjoyed, daughter the patriot which she loved and other son the fettuccine Rocco which was just ok. Everything was cooked to perfection but no seasoning. The St Kitts rum punch was pretty good. Food came out really fast. Great place to eat! The food was the best we had while in Pigeon Forge. The BBQ Ribs are delicious and so are the stringy crisp French fries! We got suckered into a few different types of tourist traps and restaurants but this was definitely NOT one of them! The food, customer service and atmosphere was Great! Been here a couple of times before, and I'm never disappointed. My husband and I ordered the TN Whiskey burger, onion rings , and fried green tomatoes to share today. The TN whiskey burger had a TN whiskey glaze, smoked bacon, crispy onions, and garlic aioli. It was huge and so yummy!! The burgers are served with house-made shoestring fries, that are some of the best I've ever tasted. The onion rings were bigger than any I'ld ever seen served at a restaurant. The 1/2 order was plenty for us, and they were cooked to perfection! The fried green tomatoes were also a great choice of appetizers. They were sooooooo good, topped with goat cheese, bacon jam, and caramelized onions. I would recommend getting just what we ordered, because you'll really like those things too. But, in all seriousness, you can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Pigeon Forge, and it must be many others favorite, because the parking lot is always full. If it takes a while to be seated, it's totally worth the wait! And, if you have to wait, I suggest getting their "Signature" Bloody Mary, especially if it's late morning early afternoon when you dine. It's really good too! read more

GET RESERVATIONS! And even with reservations, you may have to wait, we had around a 2 minute wait past our reservation time, but believe me it is well worth it. We had Jaice as our waiter and he was phenomenal. He gave us recommendations on the food and also helped one of our party with a recommendation on where to find a particular bourbon he ordered and liked. He was attentive, got everything right for our orders and was a pleasure. Both folks who got the bourdon burger said it was possibly the best burger they ever had. My ribs were amazing. I had a very mixed experience at Local Goat. Our original server, Alexander J, unfortunately made the experience frustrating. It felt like the level of service we received depended on how we looked or were perceived. If you didn't appear like you were going to leave a big tip, you were basically ignored. We waited long periods without being checked on, and when she did come by, it felt rushed and inattentive. Meanwhile, we could clearly see her spending time joking and engaging with other tables she may have assumed would tip more. At one point, it even seemed like our requests were completely forgotten while other tables were being fully taken care of. What saved the experience was another server, Logan. He wasn't even assigned to our table, but he noticed we had been sitting there for a long time without proper service and stepped in. From that point on, he handled nearly everything--taking our order, bringing food, helping with appetizers, and even addressing an issue with the soda machine being out of syrup. Logan went above and beyond, and honestly, without him, we probably would have left. His professionalism and awareness completely turned things around. Because of the poor service from our assigned server, I left her no tip. However, I made sure Logan was taken care of and then some because he earned it. This isn't about how someone is dressed or who you think has money. You never know who someone is or how they'll tip. Every guest should be treated the same. Huge shoutout to Logan you're the reason this review isn't one star. Management should take note. He has leadership potential and deserves recognition. My daughter even remarked how good everything smelled when we got in, but the food itself was fried but bland. The fried green tomatoes were bland, and the sauce and goat cheese made it a bit more palatable. The salmon was flavorless apart from a strong fishy taste, and the mashed potatoes that were supposed to have caramelized onions in them were not caramelized just soggy. We arrived at 4:30 PM thinking it would be a light crowd, but the entire parking lot was full, but luckily there was one car pulling out when we arrived. They said the wait would be 45 minutes. So after getting on the wait list, we went next door to explore the Snow park. They texted us after only 25 min that our table was ready. Our server, Dakota, was exceptional. He knew the menu well, conversed with the customers, and was attentive to our table. Never had a lamb burger before and it was pretty good. My son ordered the Maui chicken and it was very flavorful. Portions were good and the price was reasonable. Very clean and well-run inside with everyone doing their jobs professionally. So my family and I ate here a couple of years ago on vacation and I didn't like it at all, but I don't like to give a negative review based on one visit. So two years later, back in Pigeon Forge, we tried it again due to all the great reviews. It didn't get any better in my opinion. The service and atmosphere are nice but the food is almost flavorless. They brag about the fact that they make their own dressings so I ordered a salad with Blue Cheese dressing. No flavor at all. Ordered the Elvis Burger as my entree, flavorless. So disappointing and we felt duped by the high rating. Maybe you have to order a burger? -I planned to order the Schrute Burger but when I asked what kind of plant-based burger it is, the waiter said "I don't know but it's the only frozen item in the kitchen." So I ordered the grilled ahi tuna. I asked for medium, and it came well done. Ahi steaks are not supposed to be cooked that much!! (Maybe I'm dumb for ordering it at a burger place, but I figure the cooks know how to make everything on the menu.) Luckily the sauce tasted good, and the fried rice was surprisingly good. The broccoli was overcooked and unseasoned but at least there was a lot of it... -One friend got the Tennessee Whiskey wings and said they were "blah, no flavor." -My other friend has a garlic allergy and was VERY clear that she cannot eat garlic. She was told she couldn't have a burger because they put garlic powder in the meat. They said she could have the fish, so she ordered the salmon (which came completely unseasoned), and they said they would make her the sauteed spinach without garlic. Tell me why they brought her spinach with whole chunks of garlic in it! Luckily she only took a small bite before seeing it and spitting it out. Then it took forever to find our waitress or the woman who came over to tell her her options. A different waitress took it away and was apologetic, but overall they did not seem to care about the mistake. They made her a new one, but it's crazy how unserious they take food allergies! My husband and I arrived in Pigeon Forge on Monday for a short vacation. We had left Virginia after breakfast and had not had anything to eat for lunch so we were HUNGRY when we entered Local GOAT. The parking lot was packed and people were waiting so we were pleasantly surprised when we were seated immediately! Carley was our server and she was exceptional! We told her how hungry we were and she said, "let's get you something to and fix that." We ordered the onion rings and both of us had the southern salad which was mixed greens, tomatoes, cheese, hard boiled egg and nicely cut up fried chicken tenders. We both had honey mustard dressing. The timing of the arrival of the onion rings which we chose to eat as an appetizer and the arrival of our salads was perfect. The onion rings are ENORMOUS! They were crisp on the outside and not greasy. They are served with a fire roasted jalapeño ranch dressing. Both of us thought the dressing lacked heat and depth so we switched to honey mustard which was delicious. The salads were perfection and so large we both took half back to our cabin. The chicken on the salads had a crispy exterior and were very tender on the inside.Carley was attentive, engaging and efficient. We really enjoyed her! This was a great meat.
