The reviews and the high rating had us convinced the Goat would be a home run! Instead, this may easily rank as our worst food experience in the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge area. My husband ordered the ribeye, and I ordered the flame-grilled ribeye with onion rings and a baked potato ($38). I ordered the Maui chicken that comes with fried rice and broccoli ($20). We also ordered the cheese fondue as an appetizer ($14). The positives: The cheese fondue was good (although honestly, not as good as Taco Ranch's queso in PF). The negatives: The quality of my husbands ribeye was HORRIBLE. This is the first time in his life that he's returned something he ordered. The waitress gave us the 'everything is locally sourced' speech, but wow, once he cut into that steak, it made his stomach turn. I tried a bit and it was horrendous. I can't stress how bad it was. Not only was it overcooked (he ordered it Medium), but the quality seemed like something you'd pick up at a discount food store. We can honestly say it's the worst steak we've tried. When I finally talked him into saying something, the waitresses response was 'what's wrong with it?' 3 bites were taken and it was removed from our bill. Quality-wise, Applebee's has better steaks. My entree was the Maui Chicken. It was edible, but again, Texas Roadhouse and Outback's chicken breast blows this out of the water. The quality was also worse than Applebee's. My broccoli was undercooked and my rice was crunchy. Skip the Goat. It's overrated and the wait time is too long, even when you call ahead. Five Oaks Farm Kitchen, the Old Mill, Calhoun's, Paula Deen's, and Applebarn are far superior choices. The Local Goat is overpriced and poor quality. Don't be fooled by the photos, once you cut into the steak and chicken, it's a huge disappointment. The ambiance is loud and lackluster. There's a reason this place has such great reviews. We had reservations which I highly recommend making because this place is packed pretty much as soon as they open. I am all for keeping local local and what I love about this place is that's exactly what they do. Almost everything is local and made in house every day and it shows. It was all so fresh and so delicious. I am a sauce girly through and through and all of theirs are homemade. The garlic aioli and fire roasted jalapeno ranch were some of my favorites along with the roasted tomato vinaigrette. I don't think there's anything here that won't be good. My husband did try the fried deviled eggs and he enjoyed them. I personally did not. The service was excellent at the Local goat and this was our second time dinning with them. This spot was really delicious. Went to celebrate a birthday and while they don't do anything special, it was still really nice experience. Service st the bar was spot on. I told the bartender the type of drink I had in mind and she made me a delicious blackberry drop and she got our mule down perfectly, We had to wait 15 minutes for our table and once it was ready I received a text message. Wow this was a popular place! Good cold taps and their fried deviled eggs was evil good. My son enjoyed his burger but my poor husband said his blue cheese burger was extremely salty and couldn't eat it. His fries were oily too, I tried them, ick. Which is a good sign, after seating in the bar area we ordered some beers. I got a milk stout which was pretty good. I ordered a burger with blue cheese and a side of fries. If you don't know what a salt link imagine the saltiness thing you have ever eaten and there you go. If you know what a salt link is....same thing. In addition the fries were limp and cold. My boyfriend, brother, and I stopped by The Local Goat after a long weekend snowboarding, even driving about an hour out of our way because of how great our previous experience had been. Back in August, my boyfriend and I had an amazing visit at the bar. The bartender (I wish we remembered his name) was fantastic, thoughtful with recommendations and incredibly hospitable. After recently relocating from Southern California, we thought we had found our new favorite spot. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to that first experience. Our server, Eli R., seemed rushed from the start. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, a salad to share, and our entrees, and asked for the meal to be coursed out. Despite that request, everything arrived within a couple of minutes of each other. By the time we worked our way to the entrees, they had already cooled down. The service continued to feel hurried throughout the meal. Our check was brought out without any mention of dessert, though my boyfriend decided to order one anyway. When I asked to add an espresso martini afterward, Eli visibly crumpled the receipt in front of us and seemed frustrated before going to get my cocktail. That moment unfortunately sealed what had already been a disappointing experience. Given how much we enjoyed our first visit, this one was a letdown. While we had previously considered The Local Goat a new favorite after moving here, this experience makes it hard to justify going out of our way to return. read more

Great local spot. We stopped here for a late dinner and the parking lot was packed, so you know the food has to be good. We were seated right away in like 5 minutes. The server explained to us that everything is made from scratch and majority is locally sourced food not frozen type food off of a truck. Even the ketchup is homemade. Kelsey was nice and so was the manager that came to speak with me but when he suggested I put cayenne on my nachos he pissed me off. They both apologized but it came across as demeaning. Been here a couple of times before, and I'm never disappointed. My husband and I ordered the TN Whiskey burger, onion rings , and fried green tomatoes to share today. The TN whiskey burger had a TN whiskey glaze, smoked bacon, crispy onions, and garlic aioli. It was huge and so yummy!! The burgers are served with house-made shoestring fries, that are some of the best I've ever tasted. The onion rings were bigger than any I'ld ever seen served at a restaurant. The 1/2 order was plenty for us, and they were cooked to perfection! The fried green tomatoes were also a great choice of appetizers. They were sooooooo good, topped with goat cheese, bacon jam, and caramelized onions. I would recommend getting just what we ordered, because you'll really like those things too. But, in all seriousness, you can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Pigeon Forge, and it must be many others favorite, because the parking lot is always full. If it takes a while to be seated, it's totally worth the wait! Visiting Pigeon Forge for spring break with the kiddos. Went here based on literally EVERY locals recommendation. Lyft driver, hotel check in guy, waiters at other establishments, basically every local you ask will point you to local goat so of course we had to go. Happy to say we were not disappointed! When we got there obviously every tourist was told to come here because the place was packed!!! We were told it would be a 30-45 min wait which turned out to be more like 20 mins! Anyway back to local goat...got the steak nachos. 4/5 - steak was nice and tender but I'm used to warm tortilla chips and hot cheese which these were lacking. I got the Billy burger with bacon. Cooked to perfection but no seasoning whatsoever. Fries were ok. Son had the TN glazed burger which he thoroughly enjoyed, daughter the patriot which she loved and other son the fettuccine Rocco which was just ok. I have eaten here twice once with the family and once solo on a motorcycle trip. Both times the food and drinks were delicious. The strawberry salad is really good with the grilled chicken! The nachos are loaded up and piled high with goodness, the veggie burgers are cooked perfectly , the fries are crispy, the onion rings didn't last 2 minutes they all got gobbled up, and how could you ever go wrong with Cheese Fondue expect to only order one, the chicken fingers were a big hit! I had a very mixed experience at Local Goat. Our original server, Alexander J, unfortunately made the experience frustrating. It felt like the level of service we received depended on how we looked or were perceived. If you didn't appear like you were going to leave a big tip, you were basically ignored. We waited long periods without being checked on, and when she did come by, it felt rushed and inattentive. Meanwhile, we could clearly see her spending time joking and engaging with other tables she may have assumed would tip more. At one point, it even seemed like our requests were completely forgotten while other tables were being fully taken care of. What saved the experience was another server, Logan. He wasn't even assigned to our table, but he noticed we had been sitting there for a long time without proper service and stepped in. From that point on, he handled nearly everything--taking our order, bringing food, helping with appetizers, and even addressing an issue with the soda machine being out of syrup. Logan went above and beyond, and honestly, without him, we probably would have left. His professionalism and awareness completely turned things around. Because of the poor service from our assigned server, I left her no tip. However, I made sure Logan was taken care of and then some because he earned it. This isn't about how someone is dressed or who you think has money. You never know who someone is or how they'll tip. Every guest should be treated the same. Huge shoutout to Logan you're the reason this review isn't one star. Management should take note. He has leadership potential and deserves recognition. I asked for the autumn salad which typically comes with chicken and goat cheese and I asked for salmon and feta instead and it was wonderful. This salmon was cooked so perfectly it was insane. Everyone loved their meals at my table. How the heck do they have such insanely good quality food and service for a restaurant this big when making everything from scratch?! We showed up five minutes before our time... we were seated an hour and a half later, in the bar, feeling the cold air blow in every time someone opened the door. Our menus were slapped in front of us without a word, and thirty minutes after that we ordered. But the food had to be amazing right? No... not really.... We had better food at Flavortown. We had Jaice as our waiter and he was phenomenal. He gave us recommendations on the food and also helped one of our party with a recommendation on where to find a particular bourbon he ordered and liked. He was attentive, got everything right for our orders and was a pleasure. Both folks who got the bourdon burger said it was possibly the best burger they ever had. My ribs were amazing.
