Easily the most impressive and unique restaurant in the Lehigh Valley. Absolute gem and the food is incredible! Nothing else compares.

Obviously the best restaurant I have eaten in last 10 years. Prix fix menú. Only 2 options as chef/owner does cooking. Only by reservation. Decor of restaurant is like a Italian Villa. Your dining in a museum! Also great place for parties and events.

Cavallo's is an extraordinay and exquisite fine dining restaurant. It is simply a Gem. Reservations are a must. At the time you call to make your reservation you will be asked if you have food allergies, if there are foods you dislike, and the cost to dine is made at this time. Should you want to request something particular for Mrs Cavallo to cook, please mention it at this time. Note: the cost includes your dining experience, tax and gratuity. BYOB. We celebrated our anniversary here in 2012. We were greeted at the entrance and taken to our beautifully dressed table with linens, candleabra, and fresh roses. In the background you hear beautiful Italian music playing The elegance of Cavallo's is that of ecleptic Italian, beautifully designed. Once seated, we were welcomed and our wine glasses were filled. Shortly after, Mrs. Cavallo greeted us and explained briefly the courses and welcomed us to walk the premises between courses. After our first course we were given a tour which included some history of the collections strategically placed throughout, and how Cavallo has evolved over 37 years. Our dinner was a six course meal. For starters we enjoyed a deliciously lite french onion soup with warm breads. Followed by homemade pasta ravioli topped with garden tomato sauce and fresh basil. Next was poached lobster tail and claw with fresh arrugula. Fourth course consisted of roasted vegetables: beets, broccoli rabe, and a beautiful tower of eggplant, tomato, fontina cheese, squash, zucchini, red peppers drizzled with a balsamic fig reduction. Our entrees were poached chilean sea bass and filet mignon, both served with roasted carrot and asparagus. Dessert included choice of cappaccino or espresso and layered pound cake with whipped cream, strawberry compote and lemon curd. The dishes are all beautifully arranged, the food is seasoned to perfection, this is absolutely every bit of a 5 star dining experience and more.. We had good conversation with both Mrs Cavallo and her son Brando. They are both very personable people and want to give their guests the best experience. She has cooked for and dined with several famous people and dignitaries. They have dedicated customers who frequent Cavallo's from locally to New York. They also offer bed and breakfast accomodations as well.

Really a 4.8. The service was great and almost all of the food was superb. We loved the saganaki…read morewith pita. The humus was a little middling - not that smooth and easy to spread or dip. The beef rib pasta was fantastic as was the whole Branzino. We would have both again. The grilled shrimp skewer was a definite plus. The only real miss was the risotto, that wasn't too creamy. The tempura style mushrooms tasted a little like flour. The desserts however got back on track and were without. We had two mixed drinks, and all told for three adults was about 65 each. A little pricey but felt the quality was worth it. Service was outstanding.

Ordered from here for Father's Day now I fully understand every business gets busy on a holiday,…read morebut if they can't handle the holiday crowd, they should either have a fixed menu or don't be opened at all (they were opened and they had their regular phone menu). Now we did order takeout, but we have ordered takeout from other places in Linden and even as far as Woodbridge and we have never received food this bad. I've seen the reviews that this place was rated with extremely good food and reasonably priced but what we had was extremely disappointing. For the appetizers we had the potato pancakes, which were soggy mushy the Polish Kabasa that was extremely salty, and the pierogies which were dried out on the outside and dry on the inside. For dinners, we had the Abigail's chicken (which I don't know what kind of sauce they put all over it, but it was horrendous), the braised short ribs (there was only one whole rib with the casing still on it and had nothing but fat and grizzle), the stuffed flounder (was too extremely thin slices of flounder stuffed with what was supposed to be crab meat stuffing, but they might as well just call it stuffing because there was no crab or even crab taste), we also ordered a fourth dinner, which I cannot remember what it was, but it was again extremely disappointing. We definitely will not order from here again, whether it be going and eating in or doing takeout.

Almost gave it three stars because of being rushed to finish our appetizers but more on that later…read more The outside of the restaurant isn't all that special looking, in fact one in our party walked right past while looking for it! Once inside, the feeling was a lot better. Not much in the way of art work on the walls, but still had a nice warm feeling. There were 3 of us and we did a lot of sharing. The Scallops in Shredded Filo was good but the Crab & Artichoke, with garlic aioli, parsley and capers was definitely "the winner". The Seafood Ceviche with scallops, halibut and shrimp was also delicious. While 2 of us were still enjoying our appetizers, our entrees were brought to the table and our plates moved to make room for them. I made the comment to no one in particular that I would try to eat faster as the seafood ceviche was pushed off to the side of the table. We had a 7 pm reservation and for the most part the restaurant was full by that time but we were not intentionally eating slowly. I could see if we might be taking up too much time eating and they had to move the tables but that was not the case as the restaurant was only half full by the time we left. For an establishment that is charging the prices that it is, Avg $18 for appetizers, high $30s for entrees, no one wants to feel rushed. The Halibut Almondine with Beurre Blank was good but not as good as we had hoped, with it being on the dry-side. The Dorado with Baby Vegetables was delicious as well as beautifully presented with "potato fish scales". A shared warm Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream completed our meal. Their menu is extensive making it an easy decision to return but I will mention that we would like a more leisurely experience this time around.
