This is definitely a spot for health conscious people. I got a green melon protein smoothie and superfood raw brownie. The smoothie just tasted like a juice. Pretty blah, and it was a let down since I was expecting a more smoothie like texture. Now, that brownie on the other hand was a sleeper hit. On first glance it's pretty small, so you might just think it's not worth it. That brownie is so dense, you'll be chewing for days and it really tasted good! One of the best healthiest meal places I've had in NYC. The outside is quite low key in Chelsea. You wouldn't assume much of it but when you walk in, it's definitely vibes. I love the white interior - it is very chic and there's even a little fireplace. They have a variety of to-go options inside and also a menu where you can sit down and order. They make the food pretty quick and are helpful if you have questions with dietary restrictions. Food wise - I am a fan of everything on the menu. I love how they are seed oil free and use ingredients that are good for your body. Some food highlights: 1. The tomatoes are absolutely delicious from the sauce to the gazpacho (seasonal) 2. We came here looking for a warm bite on a chilly day, and were blown away at the quality of the food. The curry soup was absolutely perfect, full of flavor and vegetables. We were not expecting so many amazing options, but they had something for everyone. Our server Gio was incredibly attentive and helpful with all of my many questions. He really added to the experience in such a positive way! Next time we are back in the city, we are coming back for the soup and spicy roasted chickpeas. Later that evening I developed food poisoning with gastrointestinal symptoms including diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, which continued into the next day. Prior to this meal I had been feeling fine. I reached out to the restaurant directly to flag the issue. They directed me back to Grubhub and did not offer any meaningful resolution. Their food was not only prepared with care and was fresh, but health conscious in avoiding oils if the customer prefers and is fully customizable for various food additives and allergens. Nothing is overdone at this restaurant; they do not put garlic in everything, dairy or eggs in everything, do not grill their proteins, nor smother their vegetables in oils. Food was warm when I got to it. The roasted garlic mash I ordered spicy and it was. Had a nice heat to it. Not like mashed potatoes!! It was more soft/liquidy than mashed potatoes. Cauliflower contains more water. So texture is similar to baby food in a jar lol. The garlic flavor was light. It was good! It's worth it. $7.50 The grass fed meatballs I ordered spicy too but they were not. It's ok cause the flavor was good. I like the fresh tomato sauce and capers. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly roasted. Tasted fresh. The spaghetti squash was also cooked perfect and the pesto was a light flavor too which was nice. Ordered the organic chicken fajita with baked pumpkin spiced sweet potato fries. Pros: The food was really good. The chicken fajita had a nice subtle spice to it but not enough where you couldn't eat it. I enjoyed the sautéed peppers and onions as well. I never had a wrap using collard greens so I was happy it didn't hinder me eating. It was soft to bite into and not crunchy so it was easy to fold around the chicken.The pumpkin flavoring on the fries was good as well. Tasted a bit sweet like cinnamon was used as well. Cons: My food was delivered 30 mins later than estimated (1.5hrs) but luckily I wasn't that hungry. But based on other reviews I would take that into consideration if you feel like you might gnaw off your hand from starvation. Presentation wise it wasn't the best. When I opened the container there was a lot of liquid from the fajita which made some of the fries soggy. Although I liked the collard green wrap, the already soft leaf got a little soggy from all the liquid. Overall I would order from here again. This is the second time I ordered food from this place and once again I was disappointed. This time they sent me the Quinoa Veggie bowl without ingredients listed on their menu (carrots and sweet potatoes). They added zucchini instead (I hate zucchini). You are basically paying $14 for quinoa and very little veggies. The food took forever to be delivered both times I ordered here and they are just 2 blocks away from my house. Highly disappointed. Let me just start by stating, I ordered the Free Range Turkey Meatballs with Zucchini "noodles" for $20. I was looking for a delicious, healthy lunch option and came across Locanut. Everything on the menu sounds super healthy and delicious; however, upon receiving my order I noticed the whole dish was swimming in the zucchini liquid (so much that it resembled soup) at the bottom of the container. See photo. Needless to say, that was off-putting. Then, I took a bite and it was just a tasteless mixture of ingredients. I'm not a picky eater and love eating healthy so this was completely upsetting. This is why more people don't try "healthy" eateries because somehow restaurants forget vegetables should be flavorful too. So they are proving those people right. Even more disappointing is that when Seamless contacted the restaurant about my order issue, their response was that "the zucchini noodles have a lot of moisture and that is unavoidable." That response is unacceptable, this is a restaurant that specializes in cooking vegetables and healthy meals. I've made zucchini "noodles" at home before and there's a proper way to make it to avoid this problem. If a restaurant cannot make this properly, don't put this dish on the menu. The only good thing is that this order was on time. But in the end, I felt like I had just wasted my money, time, and I was still hungry! I ordered the cauliflower risotto with turkey meatballs and my got the zucchini noodles with turkey meatballs. The delivery was correct, on time and had cute little handwritten labels and notes. The person who delivered the food was prompt, pleasant and very put-together. My cauliflower risotto was very coconutty in a good way and I liked that the cauliflower was in bigger chunks rather than shredded. The turkey meatballs had good veggies incorporated inside. My friend LOVED the zucchini noodles as well. I ordered the turkey meatballs, roasted cauliflower, grilled baby artichokes, and a side of paleo pesto. The meal was healthy, fresh, and clean, which was what I was looking for but there definitely could have been more flavor! The food was also lukewarm upon arrival unfortunately. The grilled baby artichokes weren't actually grilled...I think they were canned or dried artichokes hearts. The roasted cauliflower was good. I called both numbers I found for the restaurant to check on my order repeatedly with no answers, it went straight to voicemail. As much as I love salads, there are days where I want something different or perhaps a warm meal on a cold winter day.
