I ordered from here because I was craving something with cauliflower that wasn't too bland. Read some reviews and took a shot. I got the cauliflower risotto bowl and wild salmon. OK WOW! I loved it. Did I mention they allow you to chose the amount of salt (a little or a lot) that they put in the dish. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and they was enough that I had some left over for the next day. I ordered chicken meatballs, the chicken broth, and the paradise salad. While the meatballs were delicious, the broth barely had any flavor. This is coming from someone who prefers food on the less salty side. In addition, the salad is way overpriced for what they give. I ordered the paradise salad, and expected that the beets would be bigger at least. Instead, what I received was a bowl filled with spinach, and only some thin slices of beets and carrots--$12? I live in New York, and have dined at gluten free restaurants. I'm attuned to the overpriced nature of many dishes, but I cannot see how Locanut justifies selling this salad at such a price. I hope they haven't been open too long because thinking about all the meals I've could have been eating from them instead of the same old Hell's Kitchen places makes me want to cry. It's seriously that good. Everything is healthy, fresh and filled with incredible flavor. They also offer a meal plan for those times in your life when even Blue Apron is too much to handle. The only downside is that they're only open for lunch, but the food is so good and filling that you'll probably have leftovers to enjoy at dinner! Also, the food was delivered on time during peak lunch hour and when I sent an email about the meal plan Bella answered within a half hour even though it was long after closing time. The food is absolutely delicious. I am an extremely health conscious consumer and always have problems finding places to eat since I normally only eat organic/grass fed/free range/wild/no refined sugar/etc. It's so nice to see a place have all these options. I ordered the honey dijon glazed wild salmon plate with roasted cauliflower chimichurri and sweet potato cinnamon mash. The salmon was absolutely delicious with just the right amount of honey dijon on it. I also absolutely loved the sweet potato mash. I have had problems with restaurants delivering late around lunchtime. However, Locanut was not only on time... it was early. I was away from my desk at work when it was delivered so I received a phone call letting me know my food is left with the front desk. I asked for it medium and it was done perfectly. They packed the onions and tomatoes (which were yummy) separately from the paleo cauliflower bread so the bread didn't get soggy. Went great with the homemade chipotle aioli. Also got the beet and carrot relish, the pesto sauce and the garlic in olive oil - all fantastic and the garlic oil went great with the paleo bread (which is nice, but isn't really good plain). It's hard for me to eat out because I have a lot of food sensitivities and digestive issues but the fact that this place was gluten free, dairy free, etc was awesome, or so I thought! My boyfriend got a side of asparagus and it was rock hard-- it seems like they didn't cook it right nor cut off the woody ends. Everything was too heavily spiced, oily, and heavy too. Saw this place for the first time on Seamless today and was so excited to see some paleo friendly options for once. I ordered the grass-fed beef burger and added some avocado and got the sweet potato "waffles". The chips were ok, but the burger was great. It was so wonderful to eat a burger with a gluten-free nutritious bun!! Yum. Unfortunately seamless wasn't working, well, seamlessly, but I got a call from the company and they apologized and delivered the food to me right away and at cost to them. I will definitely be ordering from Locanut again, and maybe even checking out their meal plans. Yes, delivery could have been better, but it was an issue with seamless and not the vendor. Thankfully I wasn't starving and regardless the food certainly filled me up. And extra bonus for a clean lunch that I can feel good about eating. Not sure why people are complaining about the portions, I've been on a crazy pred regimen and am usually famished but the portion size was just fine for the burger. This place blew my mind. There are a bunch of different paleo offerings in the city. Being a foodie, my biggest challenge with the majority of these places is that the food is bland and flavorless. NOT THIS PLACE!!! When I first saw the menu I was hopeful that they would be doing something a little different. And they are. They are a total cut above any competitor that they may have in terms of flavor balance, food quality and variety. Eating at their paleo competitor (which will remain nameless but is the big, sit down paleo place in the city) is usually ok and sometimes disappointing. In contrast, Locanut are total top of their game. I had the chicken thai soup for lunch and took home the meatballs for dinner. It's the first time in ages that I have given my food 10 out of 10. We ordered lunch from here and overall the food was very bland. If healthy and bland is what you are looking for then you found the right place. I usually don't need much salt or seasoning but even this was too bland for me. What we got: Brussels Sprouts - cooked well, but barely any flavor or salt Sauteed Kale and Spinach - kale was pretty soft and there was a hint of garlic, but needed more salt Roasted Zucchini Noodles with Paleo Pesto - this was actually good and worth eating out of all the dishes Avocado Chocolate Mousse - It was "healthy" but tasted quite terrible and came in a tiny cup. It hit the spot and made me feel satisfied without the carb coma or guilt. Is it as good as an al dente spaghetti from your fav Italian spot, no but if you thought it would you are deluding yourself. Turkey burger wrapped in collard greens - This burger was 4 inches by 2 inches. Just a turkey burger wrapped in a collard greens, nothing else. Taste was ok. Coleslaw - It was in one of those tiny sauce containers. It was just dry red cabbage. Baked parsnip fries - Nothing was baked. Every single piece had their tips blackened to a crisp and the rest of the parsnip was completely uncooked. Sauteed Cauliflower - 4 piece of uncooked cauliflower submerged in turmeric water with 100 raw onions. It was disgusting and disappointing. Maybe this was a bad day for you guys, but I don't see myself eating your food again. For $32, you don't expect the greatest quality, but come on. Meh. read more

Just had the chicken meatballs with waffled baked sweet potatoes and zucchini sticks. I AM BLOWN AWAY. Never in my life has eating clean tasted so good. I pretty much live at work so we order in lunch & dinner and I can't even begin to describe how hard it is to find delivery options that are healthy. The portions are PERFECT. I have read a few reviews of people complaining about the portions for the price. First of all, these are the portion sizes that you are supposed to be eating to achieve and maintain optimal health. You are not going to find "Big Mac" gluttonous portions of food from Locanut. Second of all, when you pay a premium you are either paying that premium for quality or quantity. It's a trade off and most people think they should be entitled to both. Personally, I was rather pleased with the portions and I would much rather pay the price to put wholesome well prepared food into my body than to pay to stuff myself. The only thing I would love to see out of this business is extending their hours to dinnertime and offering dinner options. 5 stars for making healthy food taste delicious (and gluten free!). If I could afford to eat this every day, I would, but it's a little on the more costly side, when you factor in delivery. The closest comparison (imho in terms of healthy food options and quality) is Maple, which I've been using a bit because of the ease of ordering and price... but Maple's food is often really spicy. I've never been disappointed by anything I've ever ordered at Locanut. I've pretty much tried everything on the menu and it is all absolutely delicious. Everything is fresh, organic, seasonal, colorful, and extremely satisfying. Tastes home-cooked but inventive. My favorites dishes are the falafel and the chicken meat balls. You also have to try the sides. My favorites are the grilled vegetables in pesto sauce, the zucchini sticks, and the rainbow carrots.
