Great 'local favorite' in the West Village. Be prepared to meet nice people, enjoy great coffee and conversation. Or work quietly at one of the cafe tables!

Tried this place my first day visiting new york and I went back the next day for seconds. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Food came out at an attentive time and was delicious. I highly recommend the lentil soup. This place is very good to sit down and whine down.

Great location to catch up with a friend for a Sunday morning bite. It's a cafe where you can get a range of things from coffee to sandwiches. Really enjoy the atmosphere and the outdoor seating. The salmon special was good, had all the ingredients of a lox bagel at a decent price. Not as much indoor seating as outdoor so I'd recommend to keep an eye out for open seats. If not, you can always eat at the park a few blocks away. Nice artsy place for a coffee or breakfast run. Recommend it.

Very cute cafe in the West Village, oh-so-quaint! It's quite small, with under 10 chairs, but the nutella latte I got ($8 post tip) was pretty tasty and served expediently! On a Thursday afternoon there was a steady crowd coming in and out. Not a super great place to use your laptop (no wifi, cramped), but definitely awesome ambiance to chat and people watch!

This place was so cute and a perfect place to get some work done on a chilly weekday afternoon. My panini was perfectly toasted and filled with nice roasted vegetables. The chai latte, on the other hand, was fine but not noteworthy. Prices were also just okay, but probably on par with what's to be expected in West Village. What really sold me was the ambiance and service though. The guys at the counter and the owner were all incredibly warm and friendly to everyone who came in (+ there were clearly regulars - people who they knew by name, of all ages, which was so heartwarming to see). The playlist was cozy and jazzy and just set the perfect fall mood. The quintessential "neighborhood cafe around the corner".

Cozy neighborhood WiFi cafe, delicious paninis and mocha latte (they have decaf options which is great) and super friendly service. 10/10

Cafe Panino has that perfect cozy feel with a small footprint and a few outdoor seats. It has character and atmosphere. What it did not have on my visit was fast service likely due to the labor shortage. My panini came together well with the arugula, cheese and prosciutto. The bread was particularly good. Pleasant place to visit.

I've passed by this place so many times and I'm always tempted to go in but never really any time. I've noticed they have people coming in and out, so must be good? They have various pastries including gluten free brownies and coffees/teas. The sandwiches are pretty cool, I found out they have gluten free bread and turkey bacon which is awesome! I ended up getting a blt on gluten free bread to go. When I opened up my sandwich, the bread was burnt and the bread was small. I think they charge too much for the gf bread, considering how small it was and that it was most likely udis bread. The service was fantastic thou, the people were super cool and answered my questions. I think this is a really cool place to stop by and have a bite to eat or even grab a coffee.

Loved the salmon special $10 for Scottish smoked lox and capers tomatoes onions and a generous helping of cream cheese. It's pressed down on panini press. I don't love that part. But the quality of the ingredients is good. I also go plain bagel with plain cc. That's when u know- it's pretty good. Such a cute place to hang with some old folks and be chillin

We got the Banter Bowl, which includes pickled carrot, cabbage, watermelon radish, cucumber, edamame, avocado, quinoa, and miso ponzu dressing. You have a choice of meats, so we chose the grilled chicken. Second, we ordered the falafel bowl that includes three falafels, pickled onions, avocado, cucumber, whipped garlic feta, kale salad, romesco, and Za'atar dressing that had a delicious flavor. However, our ultimate favorite had to be the Thai Crunch Wrap with sweet potato fries. It was fairly busy, and our drinks took a while to come, but the food arrived shortly after. The next time I'm back, I will be sure to reorder the Thai crunch wrap. If you have food allergies, they are extremely accommodating and have numerous vegan/vegetarian/GF.

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.
