I don't remember ever seeing it run. I've had it for years and finally decided we should get it looked at. I had another mantel clock that needed service because a new battery did not make it run. Took them both to Promenade Clocks. The cost to repair/clean them was totally reasonable. And they were both ready for pickup in less than a week! Fred and his shop is a treasure right here in Richardson! It's almost like a time museum. Fred showed us around and he really knows his clocks! We loved hearing the stories and how many of the clocks work and their history. Lots of one-of-a-kind clocks available for purchase.

We were so excited to find somewhere to fix our 2 clocks that were family heirlooms. We didn't even…read moretry them to see if they worked before we took them to be serviced. We assumed after being boxed up for years and dirty it would be best to have cleaned and serviced. We were told it would be 6 months before we could get them back and we paid 50% deposit The total cost was very high for both clocks around $1200 but it was worth it to us. When we went to pick up the clocks 6 months later they both were still very dusty and dirty. When I said something the owner then began cleaning. I was told that my cuckoo clock music box couldn't be fixed and they stated our other clock was fixed and working fine. When we brought home and hung up both clocks we discovered cuckoo was getting stuck when coming out and the other clock within 3 hours of hanging up the spring broke. Took the large clock back and we were told they would have to have several more months. They said if the cuckoo getting stuck bothered me I could bring back, which I didn't They fixed the spring and then tried to charge us more, which we refused to pay. Now that clock is not keeping time at all. We decided to contact another clock repair company in Dallas, which is wonderful, they told us you can't just fix a clock without letting it run for a while to be sure it's fixed which these people obviously did not do. I took my cuckoo clock to someone else that fixed the music box and cuckoo as well as polishing and cleaning wood and it's working great. The other clock is still not fixed. These people have a nice store but I absolutely would not take your clocks here to be repaired. We learned our lesson the hard and costly way. Take elsewhere if you need repairs.

This was my experience. it isn't often that you meet someone who so impresses you! Rob was a delight to deal with. He restored/repaired our large wall clock, to its former glory. His love for what he does is evident! He answered our many questions on how to best care for our beloved 30+ year old clock. We trusted him with our precious clock and he cared for it as if it were his own! Upon walking in you can instantly see that his passion is clocks and his calling is a labor of love. The repair took a reasonable amount of time due to his skill, and the pricing was more than fair! He was prompt to communicate, and his estimate for time needed was accurate. Back in the 1970s, he built housing for three clockworks. Those clocks have been in my mom's house for about 50 years now. My mom passed last November and she left to me my favorite clock, built by my dad. Unfortunately, when I tried to wind it, it appeared the spring was broken. I found Rob at Antique Clock Repair of Arlington and set up a drop-off appointment to have him look at it. His walls were literally covered with clocks of all kinds. As we chatted, it became obvious he had deep experience working with clocks. He took time to explain the process of evaluation, quote and repair and let me know how many other repairs were ahead of mine. I felt confident in his abilities and left my dad's clock with him. A few days later, he explained that the works were shot and that the particular works my dad had selected 50 years ago had no replaceable bushings, meaning new works would have to be purchased and installed. He had found the clockworks manufacturer was still in business and still produced the model, so it was guaranteed to fit in the wood housing without modification. I picked up the clock yesterday and it is running perfectly. Several hours after being hung, it was still keeping perfect time with my iPhone! The sounds of Westminster chimes in my home takes me back to my days as a young boy and it is good to know that, one day, this clock will be in the home of one of my daughters. Thank you, Rob, of Antique Clock Repair of Arlington for preserving a family heirloom! P.S. There were 12 clocks in the same room at mom's. I'm sure I'll be visiting Antique Clock Repair of Arlington, with any future clock repairs.
