There were definitely some hits, but a few misses too. The chicken and waffles were good, and the pimento crab Rangoon was pretty tasty. The drinks were also good, and I have to give a special shout-out to the pumpkin cider -- excellent! Unfortunately, the Mongolian beef was burnt and overcooked, which was a disappointment. I also have to mention how incredibly HOT it was inside. Apparently, the A/C was out because of the storm. I completely understand that things happen, but I really wish we had been told that when we walked in. It was very hot sitting in the dining room, and I can only imagine how miserable it must have been for the kitchen staff working in those conditions. They were working so hard! The service itself was friendly, and the waiters were doing their best despite the circumstances. Overall, tonight was a bit of a letdown compared to our previous experience. I know some of the issues were completely out of the restaurant's control, but between the heat and the overcooked chicken, we left feeling kinda disappointed tonight. Hopefully next visit will be better!

When we first discovered Lock 27 about six years ago, it seemed like a promising spot for casual dining and good brews. Fast-forward to today, and unfortunately, it appears the restaurant has lost a bit of its luster. Let's talk about the Brewers Mac first. If you're expecting a punchy, creamy mac and cheese, temper those expectations. The dish is bland--neither terrible nor good, it's just there, occupying space on the plate. My wife gave the chicken tacos a go, and the verdict was similar: decent but unremarkable. In fact, "nothing to write home about" sums it up nicely. It's worth mentioning that the menu also appeared dated, and certain items we remembered enjoying, like their smoked wings, were notably absent. It left us wondering if the kitchen is experiencing supply issues or if it's a sign of a general decline in attention to their offerings. Lock 27 originally caught our attention as a brewery-restaurant, so you'd expect the beer selection to be a highlight. Personally, I've never been a huge fan of their beer; the lower ABV doesn't quite do it for me. That said, some folks might appreciate the lighter options, so your mileage may vary. This time around, the selection seemed just 'ok', reinforcing my original sentiments. Adding to the list of minor disappointments, their orange soda machine was out of order. It's a small detail but adds to the sense that the place isn't being as well-maintained as it once was. #### Overall: Today, Lock 27 feels like a shadow of its former self. The aging menus, absence of previously popular food items, and minor issues like the soda machine being out of order paint a picture of a venue that's seen better days. While none of these gripes amount to a deal-breaker, together they indicate that the restaurant has gone downhill. Would I say it's terrible? No. But it's also not the place it once was, and in a competitive dining landscape, these little details matter. Here's hoping Lock 27 can rediscover whatever made it appealing in the first place. I have been here a number of times since they opened and I love the rotating draft selection. Although I go back for the beer, I have to mention a few things that have caught my eye and make me think twice about returning. The biggest thing overall has got to be the service. The bar staff is great, very helpful and knowledgable about the food and the beer. However, when the place fills up quickly, it can be hard for the bartenders to greet everyone at the same time. This is where the owner should come help out. Instead, I have watched him sit down with a table he presumably knows and ignores the fact that people need greeted, need another beer or need their food order taken. I was once in there while one bartender was working and the place was fairly busy. I sat there for 10 minutes with an empty glass while the owner sat a table over on his computer, drinking a beer and watching a soccer game. I have also witnessed him telling bartenders there is food to run while he just walked up from the back of the house and when someone asks him for a beer, he points at a bartender and says "get her this beer" as if he is above pouring one himself. We stopped earlier this week for a drink and we sat at the bar for 15 minutes before anyone helped us. The owner even walked past us about 4 times and not once said hi or offered us a beer. Overall, the gastropub concept is great for the area, but if they want to succeed in this thriving industry, the owner is going to need to make some personal changes in the way he handles servicing his customers. read more

I absolutely love the staff. The food is decent, but honestly its the wings that make that place! Everything else on the menu can be pretty bland since it is no longer an actual scratch kitchen. The reason for the low star is because of COVID. This restaurant claims to be taking the extra precautions for the safety of the community, when in fact the only people taking the extra precautions are the front of house staff. It is very evident the only ones who take it seriously are the staff in the front who you can clearly see wear their masks consistently. The real problem is the management. There was a table near by that asked to speak with a manager. The general manager then made her way out to the table and decided to join them. The manager then pulled her mask down and continued to have a conversation with the guest without the mask. I have been in multiple other times and see exactly this. Like I said prior, if you go to Lock the staff with take care of you, just don't to see a manager because you might catch COVID. I've been coming here for a year and a half since I moved into town from Oregon, and I keep going back, for a reason. They have some top shelf burgers, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were illegal substances in their pesto mayonnaise dipping sauce, because I legitimately can't get enough of that stuff. Their beer is ok, they seem to have a lot of IPA's on tap...I'd love to see them branch out a bit. Their prices are high too. What they're selling that charcuterie plate for is an awful lot. Took my parents here and my dad just wanted a snack, and I was embarrassed when he looked at the bill and realized how much that appetizer was. Whatever happened to 5 dollar apps at bars? So their food is great, but they could lower their prices a little. read more

This place is AMAZING! We've been here a number of times, and its become our normal hangout. The staff is so friendly, the food is awesome, and the beer selection is top flight. Especially the ones brewed in house. When we first stated coming here, we were afraid it was going to be just a sandwich shop. But while the menu is limited, everything on it puts a whole new spin on what to expect from a place like this. The Bacon Jam Sliders are out of this world. Get there early on Friday's and Saturday's, since they tend to fill up fast and don't take reservations. read more

My husband and I came here this weekend for the first time, being new to the centerville area. We had an awesome time!! We had some delicious food. Kelsey, the bartender was great...she seemed very knowledgeable and suggested a lot of great things for us to try! The wings were fabulous! I got the salmon salad and my husband got a burger! I'm not much of a micro. brew guy but really liked this place and plan to go back soon. Nice local Pub. Nice atmosphere. We went on a Friday night. It was crowded but not a problem. It's a little on the small side but I think this adds to the charm. Service was friendly. I also got the Bacon Burger... It was super amazing. Lock 27 is by far the best place in Centerville to eat, grab a drink and relax. They are huge dog lovers so bring your pup to sit on the patio where they will bring bowls of water and homemade dog biscuits! Chef Tony provides an amazing menu with the best specials. I have been to Lock 27 one time with my son. I liked the place very much as it had such a quaint and neighborhood feel to it! He enjoyed watching the games on TV and also loved the food. This fantastic gem is tucked away in a well hidden corner of Centerville. Their beer is unique and excellent and if you don't like theirs they have options from other local breweries as well. As a customer I'm deeply disgusted with this brewery. my friends and I have seen several mice (dead and alive) not to mention roaches in the corners of the bar.
