Wow. What a high quality venue. My husband and I did both of the escape rooms here, and the throne room was our very first escape room ever. We didn't realize how high quality this room was, and it kind of ruined any other escape room experience we had (we've been to many afterwards) because of the high expectations we held for future escape rooms. Haha. The decorations are top-notch. The rooms are very well thought out, everything was clean, and all of the mechanics worked.The puzzles aren't stupid difficult, but they're also just challenging enough to give us a run for our money. This is a difficult balance to achieve, and they nailed it. Love the hosts. They're funny and hard working people. I can't wait for their future rooms. I guarantee they'll be phenomenal. read more

My husband, sister and I did the Mad Scientist room and it was soooo much fun! When we first walked into the lobby, we were greeted by the owner who was very very cool. Then we were lead back to a room to hear the explanation of what was going to happen! Our game master, was totally cool! So when we went back to the room for the games to begin, we all had fun trying to figure out all the clues! It was a blast and I'd like to go back to do with a bigger group too. Such a cool place. I believe there are two main adventures available right now, one more for beginners and one more intermediate. We played the mad scientist game, the intermediate one, which was a lot of fun. Our adventure revolved largely around various locks that we had to find the combinations for, but there were some really unique and inventive mechanisms that I thought were fantastic. I won't ruin the experience, but there was a lot of craftsmanship in this escape room. The adventure was 45 minutes, quite fast paced, quite clever in its construction, and a bit difficult, if any of you out there want a challenge. The owner, whose name I'm afraid I can't remember, was a very kind and accommodating man. He definitely helped get us into character with a small introduction, and he used well-placed and timed hints throughout the game to keep us on the right track. All around, a very well done experience. I'd go again! read more

First time me and my boys (8 and 11) tried an escape room, but both them and I had a great time. Even the 8 year old figured out a few puzzles for the group! The facility did a great job of keeping within state standards during COVID-19, and kept us in our own room. Definitely will do it again. read more

We had such a great time in the Dystopia game! We've done quite a few escape rooms and it's one of our favorite activities. This was by far the best one we've done yet. Everyone there made our experience so much fun. We were greeted with smiles and laughs as soon as we walked in the door. The Dystopia game was so exhilarating. I don't want to give too much away, but they went above and beyond with this room. I highly recommend this company and the Dystopia game. Took my 11 & 13 year old kids to the Medievil themed room & thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room has very cool puzzles and suspense, without being scary or offputting for my kids. There were real challenges that I had to take over on, but we were able to enjoy everything together. The lobby and waiting area was large and comfortable as well. We had such a great time with the Mad Scientist that we returned in the same week with a buddy to do Quest for the Throne! The rooms have clever puzzles that can be a fun challenge, especially if you have the minimum number of players and ask for minimal hints (although you may run out of time haha). The props and tech are high quality and really cool; you can tell the thoughtful planning the builder puts into it. All the staff members are very nice and enthusiastic too. We split our teams to Men vs Women and it worked great for us; very accommodating while waiting for either group. We are looking forward to more rooms and more adventures! My son booked an escape room with Locked Adventures for my husband's birthday. He chose the Quest for the Throne adventure. We were first time escape room adventurers so we didn't know what to expect. The staff is very friendly and enthusiastic ( and pretty funny). We did require some hints here and there and our monitor lent her assistance in a very non intrusive and humorous way. She was very encouraging as we struggled to figure out the puzzles and unlock the clues. We really enjoyed the whole experience and plan on trying a different escape room soon! read more

I'm hearing details from my daughter. I took her and her 4 friends for her birthday. Don't want to give away too much but, wow, it seems like it really gets you into the theme in a unique and challenging way. All while being authentic and not at all "cheesy". This same group went last year to another escape room up the street and they all said that this one was so much better! Totally 100% recommend. Went with family today. Half of the group had done an escape room before and the other half hadn't so we had a good mix. Pretty easy location and very clean which isn't like the one I had been to before. We were greeted by the owner and she was great. She explained how it worked and a little about the locks we might encounter. Without giving much away I will say a few things. Room was very well decorated. Challenging riddles and puzzles. The game we chose was very fun and we had a great time. However the manager managed to spoil the adventure once we got out and decided to scold us like little children for breaking a prop. I admit that we did break the prop on accident during all the excitement and adrenaline flowing and we offered our apologies but she would not hear of it and continued to belittle us. We would have also offered to pay for the damage but couldn't even get that out since she wouldn't let us talk and stormed off after she was done. Prior to this I would have tried to set up some team building adventures there but not now. I am very disappointed in how she handled herself. Up till then I would have given them 5 stars. read more

My family and I went here over New Years weekend and had a blast. Most of us were first timers to escape rooms, so we can't totally speak to the difficulty compared to others, but we thought each puzzle offered an appropriate degree of creativity and challenge. And we escaped! This place also has a great party room before you wait, friendly staff, and they're working on adding a second room as well. My family of eight (6 adults; 2 teenages) played the KV62 room today as first time visitors to Locked Adventures. We were very happy with our overall experience - the employees were friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in. The facility is professional, clean and well maintained. The owners seem to have a real interest in puzzle/game adventures and the professionalism is evident compared to some of the other local escape rooms in SD. The theme in the escape room itself was very well done and emersive. The puzzles in the room were challenging and fun and our game master was funny and very engaged! My girlfriend and I did Mad Scientist yesterday and had a blast. We are both veteran enthusiast, having done over 40 each by now. We were a little hesitant on the 45 minute time limit, since all the ones we have done were an hour, but we did finish with about 2 minutes left, so it was just enough time. There weren't too many puzzles, but the ones that they did have were amazing. A lot of technology and extremely interesting and clever puzzles to keep you busy. We will definitely be back to try out the other room when we are in the area. read more

My group of 4 did the new Egypt themed room today. We had a great time. Incredible details. Well thought-out, intricate puzzles. Plenty for the 4 of us to do to contribute. It was nice in that it was clearly designed for working together as a team and felt very positive that way. Great sound effects& Authentic lighting and prop details made it feel very real and immersive with much excitement. Our game master Ky was super entertaining and really got into his role. He and owner Christine were really cool at the end (we were successful) when they went over stuff with us in the 'wrap-up' so that every member or our team realized what we had just accomplished and didn't miss any details. This helps you realize the teamwork that has been going on the whole time! Very pleased with the whole experience and highly recommend for a super fun group experience. read more

This escape room was our favorite by far. Even the entryway has great themed decor. The room has GREAT props and is super immersive. What we loved most was the variety and challenge of the puzzles, which are more cohesive than any other escape rooms by far, making the whole experience more narrative, ie less fragmented and unrelated and more like a story that from start to finish actually makes sense.
