My 6 year old enjoying VR.
    Courtney G.

I took my sons here to celebrate my oldest sons 10th birthday and this place did not disappoint. My 6 year old and I had an amazing time as well as the birthday boy. My husband and I plan to come here to try out their more spooky, Halloween-themed VR experiences. Thank you to the Grid for giving my children an experience they won't forget!

This deal was way off the grid.

20 5 star reviews?! They must've only gone on a weekend and not needed to reach anyone that works or runs it. I bought a Living Social deal for the 2 people 2 rounds of VR M-Thur only option a couple months ago, that expires March 20. Plenty of time for my husband and daughter to use it, so I thought. My first attempt was going online last month to book for my daughter's birthday on a Monday, and noticed they're not open or "available" M-Thur. Confused as they specifically made a deal for those days at a cheaper rate than weekends, I called to ask them about the situation. After a voicemail, my call was never returned. I paid $11 for this deal, but instead, last minute, I spent $50 elsewhere for an escape room on a weekday. It was still in my vouchers to use til March 20, so went online again to see if perhaps the calendar showed different openings. Nope. Called again. No call back again. Last Friday night was my last attempt. They have to be open, right? Maybe a better chance of reaching someone or getting a call back? NOPE. 3 messages and 3 unreturned calls spread out over about 3 weeks, and sure as shit as I came on here to write this review, their hours show they're closed M-Thur. Before my deal expires and for the reason stated in the previous sentence, I'm over trying to give my business to someone who very clearly doesn't want or need it. Kind of impossible to use a voucher that's valid ONLY on the very days they're closed. False advertising to gain new customers, by offering a deal that can't be redeemed, is unethical. Thank goodness I was able to get a full refund. Virtual reality seems to have skewed their idea of actual reality when it comes to customer service.

It's like if someone crossed a SkyZone Trampoline Park with a McDonald's Playpen and slapped it with a coat of pastel paint and candy stickers. Sorry, CANDEE stickers. I will say that the prices are very reasonable. $25 buys you two hours of playtime. Grip socks are extra, food is extra, some of the games are extra. And the area itself is impressively clean, especially considering the number of young children traipsing about. On the negative side of things, however, the list is a bit longer. First, there's not a ton to do. Candeeland has limited space to work with and much of it is taken up by sitting areas for parents. The empty space could easily house 2-3 more small activities without sacrificing any existing areas. Still, what activities they do have are pretty intricate, with the multilevel play area having a nice array of padded areas for children to crawl through and a toddler area with nice pneumatic tube setup to delight the young. Next, even though the place is less than a year old, there's already some breakage of some of the area. There's a floor made up of touch screens that displays numerous games for kids to step on a play with. However, it's apparent that some larger kids have smacked a number of screens, causing them to go out or flicker. Which leads to my biggest issue. There are not that many people working here. This means that there are usually people minding the gate and checking if your kid is leaving with the right person. But, there aren't enough people on the floor to ensure safety or police older kids from doing things they shouldn't be doing. Candeeland really is a place that caters to those between 3-8 years of age. Older kids either don't fit on some of the slides or play a bit too rough with the environment. More than once, a screaming 12 year old almost barreled over my kid, knocked her off a slide, or hit her with one of the nerf axes. Sure, they balk when you glare at them. But, they just go back to screaming and thrashing about while their parents sleep oblivious in the corner. So, does my seven year old like Candeeland? Yes, she loved it and wants to come back. Did I like Candeeland? M'eh, not particularly. Still, I'm sure I'll be back eventually...

We just celebrated our daughter's Bat Mitzvah and we could not have done this without the detail,…read moreorganization, and diligence of Pat of Zperfect party! She is incredibly amazing!!! She was open to our thoughts and ideas, and helped us with these seedlings of ideas - to grow into the most perfect, stunning, unique theme - just for our daughter (and one that appealed not not only 30 teenage girls, but the 100 other adults as well). My daughter and I knew the colors we liked, but we didn't have a true vision, and Pat was instrumental in really getting us all on the same page and developing an eye catching and solid theme. We met her, she asked my daughter questions about her interests, and Pat came up with the most fantastic ideas. As a parent, my big concern was "day of." I wanted to enjoy the Bat Mitzvah and not have to come to the hotel to decorate. I wanted to count on someone to do this, meet with the balloon person, flower person, etc, and so I could just show up with my family. PAT did this! She had it all covered, and I trusted her, and when my daughter and I came, all dressed up and came into the room before the guests arrived, we cried! It looked SO amazing, ,it was EVERYTHING we had talked about and MORE!!!! Finally, ,Pat knew that I was on a budget, and when I told her things like, "I'll figure the furniture for a lounge" since I didn't want to pay the high cost she said "ok." She didn't ever try to push me in any direction, she just goes with the client, and works alongside you, if that is your style. I also know if your style is for her to do it ALL she WILL do it all (I have 2 friends that wanted her to do it all and they said she was AMAZING as well). She works SO HARD, she does not forget ONE DETAIL, she is absolutely amazing. This was our 2nd Bat/Bar Mitzvah, and this was the BEST experience we have ever had!!! If you have a Bat/Bar Mitzvah, a big birthday, a graduation, any type of celebration - big or small that you would like some help, I highly recommend Pat. She will help you with Z PERFECT PARTY!!! She arranged to have delicious food from Fratelli's Italian restaurant, ordered the tables and chairs but most specifically found an Italian bakery where they prepared 275 Italian desserts in addition to the fabulous birthday cake. I will most definitely hire her again for any future parties. Everything was professionally done. She even made the sun come out after a week of pouring rain. She and her team are the best!!
