Recently, I found out a past team member of mine who I worked with 20+ years ago have passed away. I was very saddened by the news. She was a lovely lady... very humble and kind. I didn't stay in touch with her after she left the company. However, she and my aunt worked together and were very good friends back in the days. They stayed in touch over the years. Anyway, I had to google search for her obituary online since her funeral services information was not shared with me. I found her and was able to confirm it was her. I wanted to send sympathy flowers to her family. She lived in another state so I had to locate a local florist nearby the cemetery. Luckily, I found Locker's Flowers... they are actually 1.5 hours away from the cemetery which in my opinion is not very local. Anyway, they contract with another florist that is about 15 to 20 mins from the cemetery which worked out. I placed the order online and I ended up calling them to make sure they got the order as it was pretty short notice. I asked for the confirmation email once the flowers were delivered, but I didn't get any so I had to call them back a few times to confirm delivery. They said it was delivered. I received flowers for my birthday. This review is coming from a former floral designer of many years. My husband called FTD to place the order and Lockers fulfilled the order. First, the roses were wired and completely open and mushy to the touch. A rose should have a hard bulb which tells you it is new and will last longer. The lily was brown as were the roses. In cold weather you should always wrap the flowers in clear wrap or tissue. These were delivered with neither! The cold air can damage flowers and make them wilt faster. I called the florist right away after receiving the arrangement and the only thing she was worried about was me sending pics and emailing to them. I never received a call or email back to try to remedy the problem. Very poor customer service! We called FTD for a full refund! I would not recommend this place of business to anyone for floral designs! There are many other places who actually care to give you something beautiful for the money you spend to send something special to someone! read more

I went with lockers for my wedding because I was so impressed that they took the time to make a mock bouquet for me so I could see what it would look like in person. When I got the flowers day of I was pretty disappointed because they did not look like what she originally made for me. The bridal bouquet was pretty, just not what she originally showed me. The bridesmaid bouquets had so much greenery I ended up having to cut fly always because I did not ask for greenery. When I expressed my concerns the gentlemen said "well that was so long ago". So I guess if you're planning a wedding a year out don't expect your flowers to look how they originally promised. read more

Here's a feel good story: I ordered flowers for my sister's birthday for Saturday delivery. I was out of town but the gentleman making the delivery called me to say they were delivered and where he placed them at the door. Problem was, I gave them the wrong address. I just wrote it off as my mistake and was hoping someone was enjoying them. Here's the feel good part: A week later, the guy who had just discovered the delivery, took the time to call the florist and let them know. Excellent emergency make up and delivery by Pat who came to the rescue on a Sunday and had the most stunning array of purple and white flowers in their collection delivered before noon. Our friend of more than 50 years was deeply impressed and blessed by the quality of this choice. 3rd experience that was bad. First two were prior to COVID. Poor attitude by workers on two occasions, a while back an older worker actually made me feel like I was putting them out since I stopped in 15 min before closing. Order was for one corsage. I personally stopped going after that. Recent flowers looked bad right out of the bag, half of them completely dead by next day. Second time this has happened. Went out of my way to bring them back, they did replace the bad ones. Felt like the half apology I got was only because she had to, tried to pin the blame back on us. Locker's provided flowers for my father's funeral this last weekend, including one arrangement that a cousin ordered online through a 3rd party. This arrangement was obviously inferior to the others, despite costing just as much or more. My cousin called the 3rd party to complain and was given a 50% refund. The story should have stopped there. But the 3rd party called Locker's and told them that they were only going to receive 50% of the cost. So Locker's came to the funeral home -- IN THE MIDDLE OF MY FATHER'S VISITATION -- and TOOK THE ARRANGEMENT BACK. W.T.F.????? This is the most UNPROFESSIONAL, classless display I have ever witnessed from a "business". How is it EVER okay to walk into a room, 3 feet from the open casket and, in front of dozens of mourners, remove the flowers from the easel they were on???? I went with Locker Flowers for a flower arrangement for a funeral. I went through their website. I ordered the Premium size Thomas Kincade's Moment of Grace bouquet. Now I was not expecting a perfect match to the online picture, but I was expecting at the very least the Thomas Kincade Vase that had a very pretty picture on it. Instead they used some small white vase that had no Kincade picture on it, the flowers were sunk into the vase. It was suppose to be 20-1/2" Tall and 14-1/2" wide. I would say it was more like 14 inches tall by 12 inches wide. I recognized some of the flowers in the bouquet that was it, Otherwise it was completely unrecognizable! On top of that the note they put on there looked like they used scrap paper! I am livid! I will never use them again. If it wouldn't have looked so inappropriate I would have taken a picture of it to share. I showed others there what I should look like and they agreed with me so it wasn't me just being overly picky. For the cost I expected better service. The pricing was good until all these mistakes were made. Our flowers for the altar did not arrive on time. So our altar was empty and barren of life. My nieces did not receive their flowers. Apparently these were never written down, but I'm pretty sure we discussed them. I don't know what happened there. It could have been a miscommunication. But I felt bad for my new nieces. The bouquets were lovely, but mine was supposed to have crystals in it. It didn't. I would go with them again. BUYER BEWARE! Cliff note version- Lockers Flowers in McHenry fulfilled a funeral order from an online portal. When I got to the wake I was not happy with the way the flowers looked. Called online company who gave me a 50% refund. Apparently the online portal called florist and they had a disagreement. All unbeknownst to me. LOCKERS DISRUPTED MY UNCLES WAKE AND REMOVED THE FLOWERS!!! I had no idea what was going on, I was embarrassed and mortified. The first two times I went into their store and let them know that the flowers had died. I also brought the dead bouquets in. They were not happy to replace the bouquets and had a bad attitude. I have been using Lockers exclusively for some time. I like that I can handwrite a note for my wife (especially if I've done something wrong). My wife teaches in Wadsworth but its easier to say Gurnee. I send her flowers 2 or 3 times during her school year. It's about twenty miles and I usually tip the driver an extra ten to go, so about twenty-five total. Today was the first time I tried to send flowers to my wife. I picked a nice $50 range bouquet and started to write the card. I saw the delivery charge was 24 dollars. She asked me when I wanted them delivered and I said today, preferably by 3pm she said there was an ADDITIONAL charge for a specific time. My $45 bouquet was now more than doubled in price. I am now forced to find a new florist for my business. this is unfortunate as I really like this shop. read more

My sister and I both used lockers for our wedding flowers and both of us were very satisfied. We felt the prices were reasonable compared to what our friends payed elsewhere and the employees were friendly. I ordered many peonies for my wedding and they turned out beautiful. Locker's even called me when the flowers arrived and invited me to view them before they put them into the arrangements. They also made a suggestion to use two different kinds of peonies because the color and type of flower I chose would open and close often based on the weather. I recently ordered flowers from Locker's Flowers for Valentines Day to surprise my grandmother. The one that was surprised was me. They delivered the flowers to the wrong address. When I brought this to their attention, they were unwilling to cooperate or take responsibility for their mistake. They basically told me to figure it out on my own. Mind you, I live in Florida. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. When I tracked down the flowers MYSELF, all of the contact information and names on the card within the flowers were incorrect. From the start they were always busy, being valentine's day, mother's day, prom etc. The brides and bridesmaids bouquets were all the wrong colors. My husband sent me flowers from this shop twice and both times the flowers where disappointing. The1st flowers was a Christmas bouquet and they died in 2 days. The next flowers where roses for our 26th anniversary and they where dead and dry and the balloon said Happy - day not anniversary. I went in expecting to pay too much in flowers because everywhere else seemed so expensive, but Locker's Flowers was very reasonable!! I worked with Julie, who helped plan me keep the cost down but get exactly what I wanted. Our bouquets were absolutely beautiful, as were the boutineers and corsages. I also had a special request to wrap the ribbon around the entire stem area (because I hate the bare stem look - especially since the calla stems are so thick) and they had no problem doing that. They were also willing to adorn the ribbon with some trinkets my mom had for me. Delivery to the church was very punctual. Ordered a Towering Ficus for a birthday gift and what was delivered was completely different then what's pictured on the website. The website stated AFTER I ordered "if your selection is unavailable, a substitution of comparable quality and value will be delivered." What was delivered was not comparable quality. I chose a house plant, what arrived looks like a tree your would put in your backyard. I cannot say what actually arrived because it was not labeled with any identification or care instructions. Keep in mind I was NEVER told my selection was not available. What's the point of selecting a picture if it's not a representation of the product being purchased. I called customer and they didn't even know what they delivered. They simply guessed and gave generic instructions like "our plants can be watered twice a day....." or "a few hours of sunlight is good".
