I found Locktopia here on Yelp. We had an A M A Z I N G experience! I was able to get on the website and book with ease. Selected the Gateway room and YES we escaped!! You must go see for yourself because I won't tell. The customer service was professional, warm, and informative. Shoutout to Alexis she's so helpful and funny! I love the concept of the locks. Go and escape so that you can add to the growing collection! It's in the name, I love the word play. Will definitely return!

I spent my 35th birthday with my husband on date night here at Locktopia. Hannah was an amazing host, we will 100% be back because of her hospitality!

The room we chose was were pretty basic, kind of cheaply done, and not really immersive. Some of the clues/props weren't working which affected our ability to solve the puzzles timely. Some puzzles were finicky and we used clues only to be told that we had it right but needed to do it again. It just seemed finicky and haphazard. We escaped, but it felt arbitrary rather than well executed.

    Post escape room pose!

This was a great escape room! We really enjoyed Endurance - it was a difficult room but manageable with 3 people and lots of clues. The rating of 8/10 online is a fair representation of the difficulty. MJ was very patient with our requests for help! Some of the lock games were a dash finicky, but she helped guide us through the nuances.

The theme was a space mission and our large group were spilt into two smaller groups with different tasks. The commitment to the theme was evident in all the details and props. The little launch simulators were very exciting and we really felt like we had to succeed. It was a novel set up compared to the traditional "escape" rooms of the past. I will say it was a higher difficulty room and finishing in time is a worthy effort. The staff were kind and helpful and even took pictures for us at the end.

The OK experience was within the Escape rooms itself. Very mediocre experience and not very immersive. The game we selected just didnt make us feel like we traveled to a foreign place. Clues were not hidden away tactfully. Some clues were just thrown on the floor. When you solved a puzzle, there was an unlocking sound on the speaker which is not very helpful with knowing what items unlocked - Took away from the immersive part. Some of the sensors weren't even working so we were lost on what was supposed to happen next. Had to tell our game master a couple of times. Things were falling apart as well. Even with all the time lost on malfunctioning pieces, we beat it with a lot of time to spare so not very challenging.

While it was great to see some familiar faces, it was even better to meet some new faces. We joined forces as team "Strawberry Scarlett" and never looked back! It was almost as if we knew each for the longest of times and we all had just met tonight. If anyone is looking for team building, I'd definitely recommend this place. You work together as a team and come up with answers to questions that you think you have it all together, news flash, who did y'all poll for some of these answers. Lol. It's all good because Strawberry Scarlett stayed on top till the very end. Yes there is some salt in that statement. It was a fantastic event overall. I am thinking the manager was having a little bit of scare towards the beginning and during team assignments (hence not 5 stars). I get it, it's overwhelming expecting so many people. Hopefully in the end she was able to relax because everything was great. KEKE and Savannah (I hope I have her bae right) made up for some of that experience. They kept us hype during game time Saint Arnold was there along with J. Lohr wines and whithaven for our libations. But let's pause and talk about that Knead Me Bakery lemon scone. I love any and everything lemon and they had it right on spot. We also were served some Chuys, tap the mic, jalapeño dip. Yum. Along with Zalat Pizza. Thank you Ms. Britt. Great idea as always. And you blew it out the park showcasing multiple businesses just a short walk away. You're the best! Job well done for sure.

Maybe that's just me being overly competitive but the rules are the rules lol! Overall it was a fun experience. I think going with a nice size group of friends, family, coworkers, etc. might make it a little better but date night also makes for a good time. They do have light snacks and beverages for purchase (standard venue pricing). The bathroom seemed cleaned and well maintained. And the entire staff was pleasant and seemed to enjoy what they do! Finding it was kind of like a mini-escape room in itself! You go through an entrance that kind of looks like a hotel building ish. You'll still be outside and inside an elevator Theme: you'll figure out what happened to houdini. And right from the get go (when you do find the actual place), it feels incredibly immersive In terms of difficulty, this one one of the more easier ones. I went with 3 other people who have never done an escape room before, and we all succeeded. Some challenging puzzles but nothing you can't figure out with some trial and error This feels a little more on the pricier side ($64/person), but you semi-interact with the "staff" (where most escape rooms they leave you alone). Once there, the escape room is a wonderful way to spend a hot summer afternoon in the cool a/c and out of the Houston heat! There's a clean and bright minimalistic waiting area with clever quirky riddles, bird pics and signs on the walls. (Sidenote: the bathroom is a time portal so be careful). When the escape room event begins Madame Daphne comes out to greet your group and leads you to her tarot reading room where she does readings for about 2 people after handing each person a liability waiver that's kept in their own personalized box, each disguised as a book she pulls from her bookshelf. You crumble your waiver up and throw it in the birdcage with her co-worker Sir Walter, who is in charge of the forms. Each person puts their belongings away for safekeeping in Madame Daphne's wardrobe. It's recommended to put your cellphone away but you are allowed to keep it in case you feel you might need your flashlight. That is the only reason you are to use your cell phone once inside. When everyone's items are stored away and after going over the rules, Madame Daphne leads you into her seance parlor. She uses your group's help to channel the ghosts of Harry Houdini and strange things begin to occur as Houdini confirms he's in the room with you. He demands that Madame Daphne leave and you and your group are then left to solve various clues to free his ghost and yourselves from the escape room. The sound and visual effects, realistic props and stellar acting by the individuals who portray Madame Daphne and the ghost of Harry Houdini make this a truly immersive experience. It's easy to see why this escape room has been ranked as the best one in the country.

Clues are unlimited and given without penalty if needed. Most clues/puzzles are straightforward (can still be challenging but seems like people could eventually figure them out), but there have been one or two where we all agreed they were a stretch... Still fun! For newbies, the Gold Rush room is a fun introduction on the easier side that can easily be done without hints. Escape rooms are great to play and then discuss over a meal after, and they make a great team-bonding experience! If you have some extra time, you can play another game afterwards for a discount on the same day :D The only thing I can find fault with: if you have less than 8 players, then there may be other groups joining you. So if one wants to guarantee a completely private game, they'll have to book out 8 spots. Other places don't have that rule, so if that's not an option, look for the game rooms in the suburbs (namely, in Sugarland!). There's also another location at City Center that has even more rooms! I'm pretty sad that we've pretty much played all the games over the years, so I'm really hoping they swap in some new rooms... fingers crossed! The Escape Game continues to be my favorite escape room, so whether you're a newbie or a pro, do check them out!

There's free parking in the garage (upper level), which made things easy. When we walked in, we were greeted right away and got checked in while waiting for our time slot. The waiting area was clean and had some photo opportunity spots. Our game master, Brianna, came over and gave us a quick rundown since it was my first time, which I really appreciated. As soon as we entered the room, I noticed how clean and well-organized everything was. The props were also well taken care of, making this whole experience super immersive. Brianna was really helpful and gave us hints at the right moments whenever we got stuck. There were multiple layers to the puzzles, which made it more exciting and less predictable. It truly kept us engaged the entire time. It ended up being such a great escape room experience for me, and even my friends who have done others said this one stood out.
