I called around our local postal stores and home office supply stores. Office Depot seemed to be the most reasonably priced. I had 3 pages to fax and an employee helped me through the process. He was very nice and patient. Rate was reasonable. First page was free and $2 thereafter. Other employees in the store I came in contact with were also nice and greeted me. The Fax machines were in the same area as the TSA Precheck enrollment/renewal service. Overall satisfied with the experience. It's very rare I visit an office supply store. Although more convenient to buy these things on Amazon, I believe it's important to spend my money locally. That said, I will never step foot in this Staples again. I popped in to do an Amazon return then planned to purchase some printer ink. The last time I did an Amazon return at Staples, the counter was by the printer counter. It's now been moved to the cashier area. I walk in the store, normally get greeted but no one did. Walked to the printer area, saw the sign pointing me to the cashier area for Amazon returns. There are two cashiers, neither say anything to me but one makes eye contact. Each had a customer, no one else in the line. Both of them are obviously drawing out their transactions, I'm guessing no one likes Amazon returns. No biggie, I'll wait my turn. After a minute or two goes by, I ask if there is someone who works at the returns. I'm told someone will help me soon. Ok. The one guy, whose line I have been in on several trips and who is normally friendly and kind, finishes with his customer, looks around, sees an older lady with a cart full of items walking to the check out line. He stops right near where I'm standing, fully aware I'm there, takes the cart and kindly says to her, let me help you and proceeds to start scanning her items. She says, I'm not quite done, I was looking for a whatever. I say "hey, I was here first". In this snotty, condescending tone he tells me someone would be with me. I asked again if someone worked at returns. And again with the snotty tone he tells me "we all do and you have to wait your turn". I tell him I was there before the other lady and he knew it because he spoke to me. I left. Office Depot is close, Staples in Auburn has wonderful customer service and Amazon delivers. Staples on Stanford Ranch lost my business.

But this past week they went out of their way to save me. Our copier ran out of black toner on Thursday afternoon. I thought I had an extra but could not find one anywhere. In any office the rules are that you ALWAYS keep back up toner. Somehow I didn't notice we were down to the last. Ugh!I I called Power and it was just before 5 pm hoping to get a new one Friday. It was now after 5 and too late to put in an order to ship overnight so I could not get one until Moday. Problem was we had a MAJOR printing job that had to be run Saturday morning It is not one you can farm out. The team at Power heard my pain and made calls to see if there were any at other sites that could be overnighted. The next day we touched base and no luck. They then said they had another idea. They called some of their other customers to see if anyone might be able to help, I got a call late morning that they found a client nearby that had one. They asked if someone could meet me at their office to get it. They did and I went back to the office carrying my precious black toner. Most office equipment maintenance companies would have just said "Sorry but we are not able to help you". They probably would not have stayed on the phone with me after 5 in the first place. It is very frustrating to me to have paid a company a significant amount of money only to have them…read morenot follow through on their end of the agreement. They're being paid to fix my printers. I called one in because it was not working and it took them 2 to 3 weeks to even come out. When I called them to inquire about where they were the tech tells me that "he thought someone else came out to do it already". Ok, That's frustrating... Then, he comes out and says it cannot be repaired and it will need to be removed from contract. No replacement. Just a broken printer... ? We ended up just fixing the printer our self. This company takes advantage of people. The fix was a simple google search and an update of the firmware.
