Needed Fax service [Roseville CA]…read more I needed to use a fax service and I don't have access to a fax machine from my work since I am currently on leave of absence and I didn't own one at home. I called around our local postal stores and home office supply stores. Office Depot seemed to be the most reasonably priced. I had 3 pages to fax and an employee helped me through the process. He was very nice and patient. Rate was reasonable. First page was free and $2 thereafter. Other employees in the store I came in contact with were also nice and greeted me. The Fax machines were in the same area as the TSA Precheck enrollment/renewal service. Overall satisfied with the experience. It's very rare I visit an office supply store. I actually only came by to return an item that was purchased through Amazon. Walking in brought some nostalgia - big space, a lot of items and a sparse amount of customers. Many were at the printing section. I was also rather confused they were selling a lot of other items that weren't office related (ie: food and miscellaneous items). As for my Amazon return - There were two people ahead of me, both brought a ton of items...I didn't realize this was a thing...to buy a ton of stuff through Amazon only to return it but that's another topic altogether. The one worker did his best to get through all the customers items - by the time it was my turn, at least 4-5 people were behind me. He processed everything quickly for me so that was greatly appreciated - and within a few minutes everything showed up on my end. Overall, good experience. Thanks!

I visited the Staples at 6770 Stanford Ranch Rd, Roseville, CA on 8/29 around 2 PM, and the experience was so shockingly bad that it cost this store -- and likely the company -- a significant purchase opportunity. I came in not only to complete two returns (a Happy Return and an Amazon return) but also to evaluate Staples as a potential vendor for a large bulk order of equipment and supplies for multiple offices. I never even made it to the shopping portion of my visit because the customer service was that hostile. The store layout was confusing and the signage contradictory, so I approached the balloon desk for help. The female associate dismissed me, pointed vaguely toward the Amazon lockers, and when I said I was confused, she condescendingly told me to "use my eyes" and marched slowly while pointing at arrows on the floor as if I were incapable of understanding basic directions. When I told her she was being rude, she replied, "I'm autistic," as though that excused her behavior. It does not. At the register, things escalated. Before even greeting me, Rhett loudly said, "We have to deal with customers' dumb questions all day!" He repeatedly talked down to me, pointed in my face, and ultimately yelled, "If you don't like the way we do things and think we're rude, pack up your returns and get out!" He shoved an Amazon contact card at me, clearly trying to avoid doing Amazon returns altogether. He also gave me incorrect instructions about where to complete my Happy Return -- proving the confusion I originally asked about was valid. As I walked to the correct area, he used the store communication system to portray himself as the victim, prompting another associate to make passive‑aggressive comments about "rude customers" within earshot of me and the only other shopper in the store. The Happy Returns associate then watched me stand in line without assisting me for an extended period, despite the store being nearly empty. This location is being run by employees who are openly hostile, dismissive, and unprofessional. Their behavior didn't just ruin a simple return -- it directly cost Staples a substantial business purchase I was prepared to make. I will not be returning, and I will strongly advise my firm to avoid Staples entirely.

But this past week they went out of their way to save me. Our copier ran out of black toner on Thursday afternoon. I thought I had an extra but could not find one anywhere. In any office the rules are that you ALWAYS keep back up toner. Somehow I didn't notice we were down to the last. Ugh!I I called Power and it was just before 5 pm hoping to get a new one Friday. It was now after 5 and too late to put in an order to ship overnight so I could not get one until Moday. Problem was we had a MAJOR printing job that had to be run Saturday morning It is not one you can farm out. The team at Power heard my pain and made calls to see if there were any at other sites that could be overnighted. The next day we touched base and no luck. They then said they had another idea. They called some of their other customers to see if anyone might be able to help, I got a call late morning that they found a client nearby that had one. They asked if someone could meet me at their office to get it. They did and I went back to the office carrying my precious black toner. Most office equipment maintenance companies would have just said "Sorry but we are not able to help you". They probably would not have stayed on the phone with me after 5 in the first place. I called one in because it was not working and it took them 2 to 3 weeks to even come out. When I called them to inquire about where they were the tech tells me that "he thought someone else came out to do it already". Ok, That's frustrating... Then, he comes out and says it cannot be repaired and it will need to be removed from contract. No replacement. Just a broken printer... ? We ended up just fixing the printer our self. This company takes advantage of people. The fix was a simple google search and an update of the firmware.
