Didn't let the girls skate for the last 30 minutes because they were "cleaning" before they were even closed.

It's a nice, clean arena, but the strict and aggressive 8 pm cut-off made my guests and I feel rushed. When I suggested they turn them on I just got a dumbfounded look and attitude. We saw a man walking in with a large stack of $5 Little Caesars pizzas that they were selling for $10. They put the pizzas baking sheets and into the pizza oven as if the pizzas were made by them with no gloves! What a rip off. Particles were in our pitcher of Sprite and when we brought it back to the concession counter we got another dumb look. Also, the bathroom sink was not working. We went on a Saturday; around 5:45PM they began turning lights off and everyone was asked to exit because they were closing for reserved parties. This place is not exclusive enough for that type of service. I thought this was so unorthodox especially for a Saturday! Would not recommend.

He played twerk & rap most of the time, so I don't plan to return on Wednesday. Also, most rinks turn their lights off to set the rink vibe. I'm not sure why HJR leave their lights on. It destroys the vibe & decreases the fun. If skaters wanted bright light they could skate for free outside. I'll probably try their Adult Night one Sunday, but it's 18 & up. Hopefully it's a different DJ. I prefer the 21 & up Adult Nights at other rinks around town. I gave HJR 3-stars because it has potential to be better & the rink is a nice size.

We attended on a Friday during spring break with their Friday Home School Session; skating from 10-4PM (skates included) for $10 bucks. It's a steal even if you are only there a couple hours. They have some food options that are pretty inexpensive compared to today's going rates. Foutain drink is $2 (small) $2.50 (regular). Can't give many details on other food as we just grabbed drinks. Some of my fondest memories are: Watching Michael Jackson's "Beat It" and "Thriller" on the big drop down screen when they first came out. Doing the hokey-pokey many, many times. Competing in turtle races on these little carts that one would sit on and propel yourself forward (very slowly) by wiggling back and forth to create forward movement.
