Casual, comfortable, consistently good food-one of our FAVORITE sandwich restaurants. We usually go to their other location, but the food is tasty at both places. Both locations have outside seating-so pleasant on nice Georgia afternoons and evenings. Service is always great. Food : Our group tried 4 different sandwiches and a salad-everyone was pleased. I predictably ordered their Reuben-it's always good and flavorful. This time I asked for some changes -slaw instead of kraut and they did a great job without refusing my request or charging extra. It was delicious. The huge burger they served made my friend happy. The broccoli side was cooked perfectly. The fries and sweet potato fries were crispy. The bbq sandwiches gets high marks. Pretty good fish tacos even though it isn't a Mexican restaurant. Food came out quickly and was just as we had ordered it. Service: Polly was our server on this occasion -and made our experience very positive. Friendly, pleasant, handled our spills and changes in menu requests flawlessly, kept our beverage glasses full. When we're in Athens, GA, "Go Dawgs" This is one of our favorite places to stop by. They have a nice selection of beer on tap and we love the way they make their potato skins so delicious and filling. They also have really good tacos and salads. read more

Again, cue harp music, Locos is a nostalgic stop for me when I am back in my college town-. Back in the day, it was precariously perch on a Oconee Street just near my college residence hall-Payne Hall. Back then, I was a big fan of the Rooster. Had a terrible experience across the street at Blind Pig Tavern so we left and came to Loco's. I am SO glad we did!!!! We were treated exceptionally!!!!! We have been enjoying Locos Grill & Pub, Eastside since the 1990s and, for the most part, have enjoyed our experiences. Last night, our waitress cane to our table about 10 minutes after we were seated. We were fine- just ordered our drinks and food at the same time. Half an hour later, we had not even gotten our drinks. When my husband couldn't flag her down, he got up and walked over to ask her about drinks. She loudly and rudely yelled "I've been very busy! Just bear with me!" The entire middle section on our side of the restaurant was empty & several waitresses were covering the booths that were full. Finally we get our drinks and she states they had been sitting at the bar she just hadn't had time to bring them. My son in law noticed she smelled like cigarette smoke. When she delivered our food, which was very tasty, she wouldnt acknowledge our thank yous. I'm not one to ever complain but she needs some training. Really good experience I had here with a high school buddy! Lindsey was our server and she couldn't not have been more cute, sweet, attentive, patient! I got the fish tacos and they were excellent! Quest w jalapeños was excellent! Also because of a swallowing issue I need a tremendous amount of water. Lindsey was right on it and switched out the water pitcher when it was Close to empty. My wife and I recently moved back the area and we both remember how good Locos was in the early 90's, so she picked up 3 burgers and 2 sandwiches today. I am saddened to say: "she ain't what she used to be", We were both struck by how expensive it was AND how tiny the sandwiches were. That's a hell of a double whammy! The footling sandwich I had from Subway last week was less than $7, at least as "good", and was easily 2x more food. I had a Loonie bird with ham, and she had the Moose. My 6-bite sandwich was a sterling example of mediocrity, and her sandwich made her feel immediately sick. I tried it. The beef was tough and had an "off" taste like it was old... I think we somehow got the "extra gristle" batch too. The cole slaw (I didn't recognize it) was HUNKS of cabbage in an unappetizing sweet dressing that made the experience more unpleasant. The quality of takeout has gone down in general in our new COVID world, and our order is almost always messed up no matter where we go. Locos got the order right, but the food was definitely wrong! The food here is AWFUL. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. The only reason I gave it two stars was because our waitress was very friendly and attentive! I think her name was Sydney. First, it took forever for our food to come. After we ordered, we waited at least 50 minutes. It got to the point where I almost just told the restaurant no thanks, I'm leaving. Second, the food was SO disappointing. I ordered a shrimp po'boy. It was cold, absolutely covered in mayo to the point where it overpowered the entire sandwich, and had a chicken nugget in it?? My friend ordered the rooster. It was also cold, and the chicken appeared to be undercooked (honestly not surprised after seeing the reviews on here where people in the past have been served raw chicken). By the time we got our food, we were so over this entire experience that we just wanted to leave. I regret not complaining more to the manager. The food was good and my server was attentive. My concern is they wouldn't allow the server to bring me my drink to the table because she was under 21 but they allowed patrons and one of their own employees (he was wearing a company shirt) to smoke their e-cigarettes at the bar. Apparently management is more worried about their server carrying alcohol than Georgia's nonsmoking rules. Our motorcycle group, Goldwing Road Riders Assoc meet here every month, so I can't tell you how cold the beer is but I can tell you I've not had a bad meal here. Every thing is top shelf from the burgers, shrimp, nachos and last but not least the wings. They have them in just about any flavor you could want. The wait staff and management are not your typical. If I could give them Zero stars I would. My party of 8 came in on the night before Christmas Eve.. The service SUCKED! it took forever to even get someone to speak to us, after we were seated. Then after a friend went to the host, they sent a mixed race guy, not that it mattered, but we are black, to our table. I stated that bit of info for a reason. It took about 20 mins from the time we gave our drink order to get the drinks, then another 10-15 mins before he even returned to take our food order. It then took another 20-30 mins for our food to come, cold and wrong, mind you, we are watching tables come in, order, eat and leave.. ‍ None of the other staff helped our waiter, like we watched the others do, nobody was offered water, we had to ask several times for silverware amongst other things that went wrong.. Long story short, none of my party will ever be returning... but on a good note, our waiter, Matthew, was awesome. He could feel the tension and kept a good head the whole time! Had lunch at the Eastside location. Boneless Wings and fries. The service was top notch, the Cajun fries tasty and the boneless wings were not good. The texture on the inside was "spongy". The wings were salty. I wouldn't recommend. The server was wonderful so ZERO complaints with her. Maybe I need to stick with the real wings! read more
