"Pollo Pobre" two grilled chicken breaths, fried egg, fried plantains and white rice
    Sergio F.

I stopped by Locura305 for lunch today after a nearby construction site visit. Located right on Collins Avenue in North Beach, it has a few street parking spots and is located near a city parking lot as well. There were a few tables outside although I ate inside in air conditioned. The space looks very clean, classy and had a TV playing Peruvian & other Spanish pop songs. My waitress was very pleasant and helpful with recommendations on a very generous portion, and explained the differences between their lunch specials and regular a la carte plates. The plates are a great "bang for your buck". I do want to come back and try their chaufa rice, as well as some of their Peruvian-Asian dishes & pisco I saw on the menu. For a workday lunch, I enjoyed their "Pollo a lo Pobre". This was two very large chicken breasts , a fried egg, french fries & sweet plantains on a bed of white rice. This plate was perfect for protein loading, and had a hint of the lime & garlic seasoning from the traditional pollo a la brasa. The fries were nice and crispy, and the rice not overly sticky. I also enjoyed a very essential cortadito after for much needed caffeine.

This place was recommended by one of our friends and we were so excited to try it out! The first time we swung by they were having a grand opening special that was and appetizer and entree for $15, we were able to try a few different items on the menu since we got a little of everything. I really liked everything we ate, specifically the anticuchos! The second time around they no longer had the special (I think it's now only a lunch special) so we tried their ceviche and a Chifa dish. I really liked the Chifa dish, the ceviche was okay. One odd note is that both times we visited they lock the main door. You have to wait for someone to unlock the door to be let inside. The first time we thought the restaurant was closed but there was a local nearby waiting for her takeout and she urged us to wait because the food was worth it! We did notice they were super busy that day so we waited until til a spot opened up and they opened the door. The second time (months later) they told us it was because they were working on the AC and didn't want to let out the cold air. Other than that service is great and we've had positive experiences!

Lomo saltado - the fries were so fresh and cooked to perfection. Love it! ( nothing was left in the plate)

Love it! Great flavors, easy to find, great price, customer service ( Excellent) Parking is available around the corner- Free after 7:00pm. We had an Amazing and Delicous Experience. -we ordered: Anticuchos Papa a la huancaina Lomo saltado Chaufa de mariscos Dessert - suspiro limeño. The Maracuya ( drink) was so tasty and refreshing. The place is very clean and friendly- I will highly recommend to friends and Families. The last but no least, we came all the way from San Francisco, CA to find great Peruvian food and Locura305 went beyond my expectations. Compare to Bay Area prices this place was very competitive. Do not miss this place! It is worth the try!

I went on vacay to Miami for a week and had to go 3 times because of how delicious it is. The owner is so genuine, loving and fast! The tables are so beautiful! I have tried ceviche 105 and as a Peruvian that I am I can tell you this place's ceviche is way better. I just love it and can't wait to go back!!!!!!!!!

A satisfying, very affordable meal in North Beach is right here! This sister restaurant of Locura Marina next door has the more casual cuisine, as we found out, without ceviche. But your other Chifa and Peruvian staples can be found here. Their air conditioning had broken when we visited for an early dinner, so they had ceiling fans running and their door locked to prevent people from opening the door often and letting the cooler air out. We had to wait for over 20 minutes outside the front door in the humid weather in hopes of seeing someone coming out so that the door would be unlocked. We saw there was only one main server working on all of the tables in the restaurant, with another one popping in and joining the service well into our meal, so despite their seeing us outside, the staff did not let us in or immediately seat us when we came inside. We were talking about finding another restaurant in the area when the server told us to sit at a table she recently cleared. The ensuing meal turned out to be a little worth that wait! We happened to come to the restaurant and be seated when many other tables were finishing their meal or were paying their bills. This meant the service was more prompt than we thought it would be, despite the two servers available for all the tables. We had the $15 all day lunch special which included an appetizer, an entree and a soft drink. I was able to get a chicha morada included with my meal, which was the ultimate Peruvian treat. By the way, we asked about the soup of the day and were told it is only available from Monday-Friday. The Anticuchos were slightly tough to cut but well seasoned and grilled for what it is (presumably cow heart), and the potatoes that accompanied them were tender but firm on the outside from the grill. The Papa o Yuca Huancaina (also an appetizer) was filling from just one bite, from the well cooked yuca and creamy Huancaina sauce. I got the Kam Lau Wantan con Arroz Blanco, thinking it's a nice combination plate of pork, chicken and shrimp. The tamarin sauce that dressed the stir fry was a little sweet for my taste, but I can see how its duck sauce like taste with soy sauce notes is pleasing to other diners. The fried ground chicken wantons were great with the thick sauce. I just wish there had been more filling! Despite the air conditioning and staffing situation, the restaurant is a good choice for not just Peruvian food but a solid casual meal in all the touristy dining options in the North Beach area. Give it a try if you're ever in the area!

Everyone on the staff was smiley, friendly and helpful. The Happī Hour menu stands out as one of the best values in the area. I had 2 Classic Mojitos, Shrimp Cocktail, Lumpia Shanghai Roll, Pinoy BBQ Skewers and Kurobuta Corn Dogs from the Happī Hour menu. From the full menu, I had Salmon Tiradito, and the Chocolate Smores Cake a La Mode for dessert. Standouts for me were the Salmon Tiradito which had a beautiful presentation. It comes plated like a work of art with gooseberry, fresno chili, annatto oil, mustard oil, sea salt, white nikirisoy aioli. Wish I had taken a photo. This is the only place I ever order corn dogs (and I ALWAYS order them here) which are made with a Japanese sausage and come with a special spicy mustard that gives it an interesting, gourmet kick. Don't go heavy on the mustard if you're sensitive to spice. Hot! I am told the Chocolate Smores Cake a La Mode is inspired by the owner's son, and it is magnificently-plated and delicious. This is not the campfire version of S'mores. This is the haute cuisine version. You cannot beat Sushi Bichi on quality of food and experience for the price, especially during the Happī Hour which runs 4-6:30pm. You can walk onto the beach after your meal, if you'd like. It's right there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Parking tip: there is a large public lot on Collins Avenue around the corner that I've always found a spot in. Short walk to Sushi Bichi.

Even with reservations they were a little slow in seating for a fairly empty restaurant (noon). Ordered drinks (tea $6 and coffee $5) then brunch. Seems like service coordination is very off. The main of crab Benedict was served, next although already cooled and the sauce a congealed. My main, after a good 30 minutes still had not arrived. Apparently a steak and eggs can be miscooked and they had redone it, never bothering to tell us. I did not try it there. Refills on the coffee were never offered. We took the steak and our cinnamon buns to go since we had been there long enough. The final kicker is they have an automatic 20% service charge in order to ensure the staff is paid enough. Seems like a business problem to me. Service was not up to that high of a standard. If you go during Miami Spice I hope they have figured out how to sequence the courses and get them to the table correctly while still hot.

The food was mediocre--especially for a Miami Spice menu--and nowhere near the upscale experience we expected. After spending almost $400 for my husband and I, I would have expected more. The portions were insultingly tiny, with the exception of the chicken salad. The salmon tacos contained what tasted like salmon "paste," and each taco shell was barely two inches long. They were so ridiculously small that even our waiter chuckled. The "half Maine lobster" was about the size of a jumbo shrimp, with no claw. The main course came with no sides so for $65 jumbo shrimp that was it. If you actually want a meal expect to pay extra for "fried" rice that was super bland and churrasco 10 oz extra at $12. So my steak meal was $87 and for that I could have had a real upscale experience at Daniel's in the Gables with upscale service and food. The experience started poorly when the four of us were seated at an awkward, cramped table with no legroom. We were positioned facing outward instead of toward one another, making normal conversation nearly impossible. It was a very strange setup for a party of four. Also, it was very warm in the restaurant and I would have asked to adjust but at the look at the servers face and everyone else I was afraid to say anything that something would happen to my food. The hostess also forgot to give us the Miami Spice menu. As soon as we requested it, the waiter's attitude noticeably changed, and the service went downhill from there. By the end of the night, the restaurant was overcrowded, with a very young crowd pouring into the bar area, and everything felt disorganized and poorly managed. Miami Spice used to be a wonderful way to experience Miami's better restaurants. Unfortunately, this felt more like a complete rip-off than a special dining experience. Komodo did not deliver the quality, portions, service or atmosphere its prices and reputation suggest. They should not be participating in Miami Spice as they have no upscale food to offer. My only regret is I didn't take pictures for potential customers to see how terrible this experience was and food looked. This was highly disappointing,,,save your money.

If seeing the show is important to you, I definitely recommend requesting a table with a good view when you make your reservation. Before the show the DJ plays music.
