This place is just slightly off the beaten path--it's near Pike Place, but faces away from the Sound, opening onto Western and Lenora. We more or less stumbled upon it because we had parked in the garage just below. I really liked it. A great selection of ciders--I really like their Pub Dry--which you can flight. We opted to try a couple of varieties ourselves, rather than a flight, and they let us taste them before we committed. Food options were pretty sparse when we were there. They were out of all the folds (it wasn't even 6!), so all that we could get were sausages in a bun. Perfectly edible, but low-key. Locust's emphasis is certainly on the cider, less on the food! Staff was friendly and helpful. When my girlfriend accidentally spilled her full glass because the table was slightly rickety, they replaced it without question. That was so nice! The place is pretty open, with lots of natural light. Has a really good vibe. There are plenty of options for seating, but the place could easily accommodate more tables and seats. I was pleasantly surprised with this fine after spending all day walking at Pike's place. I checked with the server to make sure they were gluten-free and he said yes they were. Typically, I tend to trust cider being gluten-free over beer. The server made some recommendations for my cider flight and I definitely pick a variety just to see what they're all like. Vanilla bean was definitely my favorite. It was very light, crisp, and had a hint of real vanilla. Will definitely be getting one again while I'm in town. The price was very reasonable! I got to have a taste and sampler of six types of cider. The ambience was nice. There were a few families there having a get together, so everybody was happy and cheerful. Locust Cider Market did not disappoint in the cider department. I, very happily, got a small flight to try and each one was incredible. I'm not sure how often their flavors rotate, but I was definitely impressed with the Cherry and the Cinnamon Cranberry. While the cinnamon made me think of a holiday drink, it was super tasty, so it was worth it. I had the strawberry mojito and it was a bit sweet, but I also was pleasantly surprised at the taste. My least favorite was honey pear; oddly, it wasn't super pear flavored, which left me a bit confused. Overall, they were all good and I would love to get back and try more. The reason for the 4 stars is the "warm kettle chips" which is what my receipt read. They were not warm and honestly, a serious disappointment. They were bagged chips that were put onto a plate and sprinkled with a jar of parmesan cheese from the grocery store. Maybe if they were actually warm I would have forgiven the bag...or the nasty cheese. But definitely, stay away from them and just get cider. read more

What a fantastic spot! I love ciders and my boyfriend and I had visited so many breweries I figured a flight of ciders is called for. We ordered and sat right away to relax. Ok, how awesome is this? A cider brewery place that's connected directly to a coffee house next to it! Locust Cider was our next stop while walking around and exploring downtown Seattle. I really liked the huge selection of ciders that they had available on tap. We got a flight of six with the following ciders - blueberry, pineapple, pear, watermelon, vanilla bean, and barrel aged orange. The blueberry and the pineapple cider was my favorite, but the cider that I didn't like the most was the barrel aged orange, which was much too bitter for my taste. My dad said that the pear and the vanilla bean ciders were his favorites. We sat on the table facing the street, watching all the cars and people go by. They had a huge Connect 4 game inside, which I saw a small child play with, with help from their parents of course. Also inside were giant chairs that you can lay back on. I love the feel of breweries but I'm not a huge beer person, so a cider brewery is perfect! There are a few in Seattle, but I was drawn into this one by a sign outside advertising their seasonal watermelon cider. We found this place trying to find another brewery. It was truly a hidden gem. I enjoyed the blackberry cider. The bartender was kind and generous with his time by telling us his favorites in Seattle. We appreciate his genuine customer service. This was my favorite spot in Seattle. I usually visit the Locust Cider spot at Alki beach, but...found myself in Seattle and wanted to come by for a cold one. I had the vanilla flavor after a request for a sweet beverage. Not planning on two but I really enjoy a fresh from the tap beverage so I also had the peach. The corner table had a fantastic sunny peekaboo view of the ocean. From here I watched the tourists from the cruise ship walking up the sidewalk. The nice weather and the street side windows were open too. So I switched seats a couple times to get different views and enjoy a beautiful sunny day. This is a dog friendly spot too. Games with directions are set out if you have a friend (lol). Locust cider is a great alternative to beer and tasty. Higly recommended. Parking downtown is challenging. I recommend public transportation if you can. There is a small food menu too. While drinking my Latte at Anchorhead Coffee Co, I noticed an area on the other side of the building blocked off since it was still the morning. As the day went on while I was reading my book and the clock hit 11am they started moving the gates and opening up a bar. Lo and behold it was a Cidery colocated with the coffee house! I think I am just called to craft breweries and ciders, and if I am in a cider taproom I might as well give their ciders a go. And, it's basically juice anyway right? P.O.G.: A Sweet Cider made with Washington Apples blended with Passionfruit, Orange, and Guava. When you think of POG mixed with apples, this is what you get. A delicious combination that was super smooth. Vanilla Bean: A Sweet Cider made with Washington Apples blended with Real Vanilla. The vanilla definitely comes through giving it almost a cream soda-esque feel. The apples play secondary, and this is just a straight dessert. Dark Cherry: A Dry Cider made with Washington Apples blended with Sweet Dark Bing Cherries. It was barely sweet, leaning primarily dry with a bit of tartness and just enough fresh cherry flavor. Sour Cherry: A Cider made with Washington Apples blended with Sour Cherry Juice. Definitely on the dry side of ciders. Not too tart, even for being sour cherry juice. We needed a place to sit and relax after doing the touristy thing at Pike Place and Locust totally fit the bill! I got a flight and enjoyed reading a book in their lounge to decompress. The chai cider was so good and we were sad that they didn't have it available at this location to purchase in cans to take home. I also really liked their branding/logo and wanted to purchase a glass but sadly couldn't purchase this here either. This was disappointing but I still enjoyed our visit nonetheless. Hubby ordered a beer to sip on while drank my water. He enjoyed it but said it wasn't anything special. One notable aspect of Locust was the bathroom. There was only one bathroom door with a pin code lock. The code was provided by the bartender. Once inside, I noticed there were several stalls and a row of sinks. It was a bit confusing until you walked in. People were waiting outside the door because it looked like a single bathroom, however, there were men, women and children all using the same bathroom. It was pretty awkward and not something I've ever seen before. A few people made comments and looked uncomfortable with this setup. Definitely one of the more bizarre bathroom situations. read more

My friends and I came on a Sunday afternoon and found a bench table right away. I shared a flight with a variety of ciders and a hazy ipa. They only had 1 hazy ipa on tap. They focus mainly on ciders and have some fruity, delicious ciders. You order at the front with all of the beers and ciders on tap and menu above which the beer-tender pours your beers and ciders then and there. Quick and easy service. My favorites out of the ones I tried were the vanilla and honey pear. Those two were the sweeter ones out of the 4 ciders we got. Vanilla tasted like a vanilla cream soda. So good.
