The playing conditions of this course were top notch. There were no dead spots on the green, the fairways were well maintained, and the roughs were cut to a decent level. The entire course was absolutely beautiful. The price was less than 30 bucks for eighteen holes on a Saturday! This course is beautiful, nary a blade of grass out of place. The only bothersome issue to me is that this golf course is built within a neighborhood. Many holes have houses on both sides, not just houses here and there on the boundaries, but to the left and to the right on many holes. The neighboring houses scuttled many potentially scenic views. Though their clubhouse had been burnt down recently and the state took away their alcohol permit, and they do not serve hot food the course is maintained meticulously. The staff was more than polite. The gentlemen whom I called advised my party to bring our own libations. Bringing your own beer to a golf course is a money saver all day long. Though I could not praise the conditions of the course itself enough, the houses are far too close the the course for my liking. Despite this distraction, I will likely come here again. read more

New level of disappointment every time I come here. Sunday 6/28, I was told by front desk driving range was closed. Went to retrieve clubs from range. Two golfers had just got range balls. I asked them if they had their own tokens. They said they just got tokens from front desk. WTH??? read more

Played this course for the first time today. For a public course it was pretty good. Greens were i. Decent shape as well. Very reasonable fees and their food and beverage was decent and modestly priced as well. Can't wait to go back and play it again. Also the bar tender/food serve was great. read more

Customer service is always an issue here. I have played this course many times and for whatever reason there is always some incident or issue here. I honestly can't say this has happened to me at any other golf courses.They only recently started to care about the condition of their course, but I believe this is because of events that have happened in the past. The layout of the course however is actually really nice. It just really depends on how they maintain it and they do not have a good track record of maintaining it. read more

I was traveling to the area and looking for a nice course for a round of golf. LHGC boasts that they were given 4 stars by Golf Digest Magazine several years. So I was expecting more....or at least minimal standards. Upon arrival I visited the club house (it is a doublewide trailer) it is nice inside but yes a trailer. I checked in to realize that you cannot take carts to the parking lot. I walked back to get my gear. I loaded the cart which I selected after passing up a few with torn seats. Like most golfers I visited the putting green and the driving range. Both were disappointing. Putting green has numerous bare spots. Next the driving range (you need to buy tokens from the club house) price was good ($5 for40/45 balls) but the baskets were mostly busted and the hook you hang the baskets on (on the machine) was broken. After making it to the range. It was mats only (not sure why as it was dry out) keep in mind my tee time was after 11am and there are no tees on the mats. So no driver warm up. Now for the course. There was no starter to ensure proper pacing was maintained. We waited and waited on each hole. Never seen a marshal/ranger all day. Never seen a drink cart all day! It was +80 degrees and I had to wait 9 holes to buy something from the CH. It was a great design, narrow fairways with houses close by. Great holes with beautiful water hazards. My issue was the tee boxes were trash, no upkeep. They were overly divoted, broken tees everywhere. The greens were the same. Hundreds of un-repaired ball marks, holes were poorly installed, no ball washes and all the flags were the same. They don't change colors to reflect pin placement. The best thing I can say is that the bar/restaurant was priced well, I had a ham/cheese panini and it was good, with chips and a pickle for $5-$6! I am looking to play at least 4 times in the next 2 weeks and I'm looking elsewhere. read more

Over priced, is the best way to sum this up. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in bad shape. It's a golf course.... However they definitely have taken advantage of the fact that other local courses have closed down. They let this place go, if you can get as good price, just don't have high expectations. I would say it's on the level of a low tier municipal course. read more

Visiting from Georgia thought we would give this course a try, I wouldn't recommend making the hour trip like we did. For starters we were not greeted with friendly staff. Very few people even smiled while we were visiting. They had T times every 10 mins so large party's in front of us held everyone up. Quit after 9 holes. Will pick another place next time. read more

It's the closest golf course to my home, and since I am no pro, this suits me well. Well maintained, not to difficult, but challenging enough for me. The back 9 is more difficult than the front 9. Limited clubhouse options for food, occasionally they will fire up the outside bbq. read more

Greens much improved since last year and years (past from what I've heard)- especially for WV. Love using the driving range (cheap). Club House: Great prices on drinks and bar type food (wings and burgers). Small but a great atmosphere. Karaoke or live band every Friday night. read more

I'm not impressed with the conditions. I paid $47 and it's barely worth half that. Tees--uneven, patchy grass, not aligned properly, and #6-cut the brush down at the black tees! Fairways--patchy, poor distance marking, terrible sand bunkers Sand bunkers throughout (unplayable). No sand!! Some of the worst I've ever seen. Rough--inconsistently long, Part fescue, part weeds Greens--Bent grass with patchy burnout, crabgrass running rampant in the fringe (un-puttable). Hard greens Cart paths--need replaced. Driving range balls--need replaced. Layout--not too shabby. Has the potential to be a really fun and challenging track, but the conditions paired with the cost cause me to look elsewhere. read more

The new and improved Club House has become a great place to eat. The burger and fries are my favorite. People rave about the wings (I'm not a wing eater myself). There's a full bar and they do fun events like Tap Takeover with local breweries and Karaoke night about once a month. Never in my life have I have been so disrespected in an "upper class" so called establishment. I was overcharged at the clubhouse for green fees and very rudely told it was not my place to disagree. I asked for the manager and was told he was the owner. Shocked, that the owner would speak to anyone that way. I will never ever golf again at this course and will tell everyone I know how much of an arrogant "human being" this owner is. read more

Very difficult to actually golf on this course, with private events tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, as well as most weekends, there is never any availability to play. The range is also closed so there is no way to play. Even when you do, the course is so beat up from the events that it's not worth the money. since The other course in town closed, this pace has gotten worse and worse. No competition has really lowered the quality and availability of this Course. read more

If I could give no stars I would. Called the day before told them I was taking a weekend trip. He made me a tee time and said he would put me with someone. After I drove 2 hours to get there at 5am on my Saturday. I was told they couldn't get me off. But they would stick me as a single in the middle of a bunch of foursomes and destroy the pace of play for the whole course. Suggestion, when someone calls and says there driving a long way to play your course. Tell them not to come if your completely booked. I really wanted to play there had heard it was a nice course. But I'll never know cause I wouldn't waste my time again if it was FREE. Thank you for ruining my Saturday. read more

Phenomenal course, too bad we only had time for 9 holes. Upon arriving, another guest made a comment that the greens were the best greens you'll ever play...boy was he spot on. We couldn't find a leaf on the fairway of the 2nd hole, incredible. While the greens weren't over protected with bunkers, they provided ample challenge with dips and peaks; making you really stop and take your time to read the appropriate line to the hole. We will be going back, soon!!! Oh, and the Staff at the club house were very friendly and accommodation. The course was in awuful condition. The fairways were patchy with irregular grass. The rough wasn't maintained and anything not hit down the middle was lost forever. Lastly the staff was very rude with the exception of the lady serving drinks bar. It is not worth the $55 they charge for a round. read more
