First off. I had a very specific situation. I have a lot of negative equity and reached out to see if they could help me get into something bigger, while staying within my financial guidelines. Louis was my salesperson and this guy embodies everything about a scummy car salesman. I am a PhD candidate in finance and told him that I speak finance. I also told him I taught sales for 20+ years, so don't treat me like another consumer that has different qualifications and knowledge. He tried to sell me on all kinds of different things I didn't ask for, illustrating he had no desire to listen to what I said. He then offered me "free money" which was just a 6 mo no interest down payment assistance. Since (I) would have to pay it back, it's not free. And then tried to explain to me how interest works. Um, dude, did you listen. I have a degree in finance. And then he spoke to me condescending. I asked for my car keys back, which he was reluctant to give. As my children and I got into our car, he ran up to me and offered a "new idea" about an electric vehicle. Which I told him I did not want. He tried blocking my car so we couldn't leave. Offering a lease to buy option... Where were these "new options" when I first arrived? Don't patronize me. I then explained why I don't like leases... And he said "where did you learn that about leases, that's not right"... Dude, I could easily get a FA license... I know things about leasing. Hence why I outlined my entire financial picture and he still treated me like I was financially illiterate. Louis is the exact reason people hate their car buying experiences. Bought off the showroom floor, 2021 Tundra. Next day check engine light goes on, call the sales ladie they set ut up for next day service. Next day I'm asked how I want to tow it in...no you make arrangements and get it serviced. 5 hours later they pick it up. (good thing I didn't wait for tow the previous night!) Three days later they say it's ready, I ask about what was inspected. I pulled the code & knew what causes were, oil pressure, oil pump, oil pressure sensor. Service manager was shocked I knew what I was tallkng about. With in two weeks, infotainment screen goes blank 3x. Very shady dealership. Did a KBB instant cash offer and got a reasonable quote. Lodi Toyota called me within 5 minutes of completing the KBB offer saying they wanted the car. Talked to them and explained the car has more options that the website would not let me enter and explained the offer should be higher. They agreed and asked for me to bring the car in. I brought the car into the dealership for their appraisal. Everything was good. Went back inside and was asked what I wanted for the car. Showed them the instant cash offer on KBB. Explained the car had additional options that I couldn't enter on the website. Brought a printout of my sales sticker from the dealership I purchased the car from. Mike the GM is bordering on criminal activity within his dealership. We literally had THE WORST experience of a lifetime!! From the inception of our showing up to the dealership (we drove 1.5 hours to meet with them) the place was beyond horrible. My husband had spoke to a sales rep for three days prior to our showing up, had an agreement on the price and when we arrived at the dealership the keys to the vehicle was missing. The sales rep knew we were commuting and didn't even have the decency to have the car ready for us. While we sat around for four hours at this dealership the experience WITH EVERY SINGLE PERSON, ie sales manager Youbert Amirah, the sales rep Rayyan Hijazi, the GM Mike Lahham was beyond surreal - complete shysters (unscrupulous, fraudulent and complete deceptive methods) to seal a deal. My son loved this car so much so we decided to pull the trigger and bought the car. Huge regret!!! The car was in pristine shape when we left the dealership that night. When we went back the following Monday to pick up the vehicle we walked up and saw that the dealership had since wrecked the car. We were in complete shock!! At first one of the scumbags there was trying to say we purchased the car wrecked. Yes; you read that right! And yes, this is a true story. The sales manager Youbert Amirah came out and saw how upset we were and said he would have their body shop repair the vehicle, then shook our hands and said to not worry about it. My husband and I drove away and we both said that we were so horrified they would try to screw us over. So the rest of that day we kept trying to get ahold of the sales manager for status and we also kept calling the GM/owner, Mike. For six hours they would not take our calls. Please keep in mind we had just purchased this car, the CarFax was clean but now we have a car we purchased that was wrecked. AND the owner will not take our calls. Horrifying! Finally after waiting on hold I insisted on finding out what the heck was going on with the car. When Mike the GM owner finally answered the call he had me on speaker and started grilling me like I was being questioned. It was just so unreal! During our conversation he told me he did not want to do business with us any longer. I could not believe it!!! We had purchased a car from his dealership and because they screwed up royally - instead of doing right by us and repairing the vehicle - he told us he did not want to business with us. What kind of man would do this to people! Only criminals, liars! I beg of you and your family to pass on this dealership. They will not do right by you!! I've reported this experience to the highest level of the Toyota Corporation and will also seek out BBB and report this fraudulent action to the police and the local news stations. Like others have mentioned, their service department lies. I have a new Toyota still under the 3 year, 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty. It has only been serviced by Lodi Toyota. I noticed prior to my 15k warranty that my bumper end cap was loose. I arrived for my appointment and unfortunately got Ty as my service advisor instead of my normal advisor, Jeff. Jeff has always been great. Ty almost immediately starts complaining that management won't let them wear shorts even because it's unprofessional. Then, a coworker stops by his desk with paperwork, hands it to Ty, and asks him to write up a work order. He then starts complaining that she always gets free parts and labor for her vehicle, but he doesn't even get a discount. Should have been my first red flag. We walk out to the vehicle, I show him the end cap, and Ty gets underneath and takes some pictures of the passenger and driver side. Says they will look at it and call me. I get a call 30 minutes later from Ty stating that someone attempted to repair my end cap and there is no point in him submitting it to Toyota for warranty. He said someone tried to duct tape the end cap back on and I was missing a bracket. He said it would be $399 to repair it. Then he said, "between you and me, if you take it to the dealer you bought it from, they will probably fix it for free." That is when I opened my eyes to the red flags. I got the vehicle back, went home, and looked underneath. Both sides appeared identical, with the same brackets and the same parts sticker on a separate bracket that holds the bumper (but not the end cap) in place. I emailed Ty and asked for pictures of the "duct tape" and the part number for the "missing bracket". He sent me pictures of the parts sticker. I asked again for the part number and he replied that it was not notated on the file, sorry. I responded with a picture of both sides having the same sticker and the same brackets and asked him to clarify. He asked shop foreman Jesse for a response, who said, "Located tape on rear brackets under truck, passenger side panel bracket has the wrong bolts installed as compared to driver side. The hole for the bracket is large and the bolts used do not have the large washer to keep the bracket from pulling away from the mounting location." Ty also sent pictures of the bolts, which looked identical to the bolts on the driver side. Ty said it was modified from original and quoted again $399 plus parts and additional labor to calibrate the sensors. He again suggested I take it to the selling dealer and have them address it. I contacted Toyota directly about this dealership, and it is under review. I took the vehicle to a dealer with a better reputation, but not the selling dealer. Within an hour they removed the end cap, reinstalled it, and charged me nothing. The dealer who fixed it will now get all of my maintenance business going forward, even though they are much further away. In addition to Lodi Toyota's incompetence and/or lies, when they performed a recall on my vehicle and had to drop the gas tank, the technician forgot to bolt one of the straps in place that holds the gas tank in position. Also, my fluids were low after the 15k service, which was something another reviewer had mentioned as well. read more

A greedy manager would rather let my mom pass out than lose a sale. I accompanied my family here today, 11/4/23. We were there from approximately 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. My brother was looking to test drive a car and see some price estimates. Positive notes: We were promptly greeted by a kind and patient salesman. He happily let my brother test drive a car and took his time clearly explaining all the perks and taking questions. My brother let him know that he did not want to purchase a car today because it was the first car he looked at. However, he and the rest of our family were happy to get price estimates. As the math was getting worked out, it was suggested that my mother cosign so that my brother could get a better/safer monthly payment. My mother then gave her driver's license to our salesman so that he could make a copy. We sat and waited for a while. Perhaps about 15 mins? We didn't mind too much... until my mother started to feel ill. This is where the issue begins. My mother's blood sugar started to drop. She usually keeps candy but happened to have none today. We also did not plan to stay as long as we did. It got to the point where we needed to leave. However, our salesman was not back yet. Not his fault since he had no idea. Once our salesperson got back to us and returned my mother's license, we told him the situation and apologized for the inconvenience. He was understanding but had my brother come talk to his manager for one last thing before we left. At this point, I had called my boyfriend, who was close by, to bring my mother some fruit snacks. I was sitting with her on the couch now, monitoring her. Negative notes: My brother had let the manager know that my mother's sugar was low and we needed to leave. I watched and heard the manager dismiss our situation as he tried to get my brother to buy a car he was not confident in. I walked over and restated that we needed to go before we had a real medical emergency on our hands. Our salesman and his manager both stepped into their office for a moment. During this time I told my family to just leave. I was not trying to have my mother go to the hospital today. My family exited the building and the manager returned holding some snacks in his hand. This would have been a nice gesture except for three reasons: --The first reason, he presented them to me and said something along the lines of, "She just needs some sugar, right?" His derisive tone and cocky smile let me know that our situation was but a hurdle for his intentions. --The second reason was that he did not even take a moment to think before he told my brother to wait after my brother let him know we needed to leave. --The third reason is that his efforts were just too little too late. The moment it was clear that he did not care that my family needed to leave to care for my mother, any chance of buying a car fell to zero. While my brother did not want to purchase a car today, that did not mean he would not want to keep in touch and come back again. I am highly disappointed and disgusted that this manager truly failed to see that the well-being of a customer is more important than pushing a sloppy car sale. This tells me that he had no intention of helping us get a fair deal in a normal scenario. His lack of consideration was and is absolutely insulting. The salesman who initially helped us was kind. He also seemed to be fairly new and he is young. If it was just him, I believe our salesman would have been understanding and let my family leave without risking my mother's health any further. So, I thank Shayan for just trying to do his best. To the manager. A taller, sort of burly man with red hair. If you read this, I ask you to please reflect on this interaction if you remember it. I want you to realize just how dire this situation could have been. I already know you will say we should have grabbed coffee or snacks from the little room tucked away on the other side of the building. When we were welcomed inside, we were not aware of your complimentary accommodations. We were sat by the desks on the opposite side of the building and could not see that room at all. We were offered water, which we appreciated, but did not know about anything else. And please do not think that my gripe is with the availability of snacks or free items. Our focus was the business done at the desk until my mother fell ill. Do not waste your time trying to twist any words that are written plainly here. The issue is that you treated my family like a goal to be got, a bag to be grabbed, an object for conquest. That is not respect. That is not honesty. That is not dignity. I expect better. Don't bother putting down a deposit for cars incoming or already on site. They will sell to whoever shows up even while taking the deposit. This has happened twice already. The amount of unprofessionalism is appalling even from a vetted brand like Toyota. Don't bother doing business here. This is a horrible dealership . I went there pre approved at capital one . I specifically told them not to ship me around to other lenders . I even wrote on my credit application only send to Capital one . which means that Toyota shouldent even have pulled my credit all they had to do was send me over to capital one for the approval . But instead they shopped me around to six seven lenders dropping my score significantly. Instead of taking two to 5 point hit for one enquiry I lost almost 50 points and that caused me to get denied on another preapproved offer for a personal loan and there reason was to many enquiries in a short period of time . After discussing this with the finance manager he puts it off on his salesmen who I believe did it on purpose because they didn't think I was approved at Capital one . Then they printed a second application when sighning the deal to cover up the fact that they where not supposed to send my credit to any lender other then cap one . The worse part is they still sighned me up with Capital one , the lender I tild them in the first place so the basically trashed my score for no reason . Our trip to Lodi Toyota was perfect, at first! We came in with an open mind, did our homework, ran our budget numbers and knew what we wanted. We wanted Costco pricing from not a Costco participating dealer. We wanted to see what Lithia Lodi Toyota had to offer. But when we sat down to do the numbers, I clearly saw how Lodi Toyota (Salespeople and Finance guys) were trying to TRICK us into buying a car from them. For example, the vehicle we were interested in was a Toyota Camry SE MSRP $29,950 (see first photo). Lodi Toyota offered to sell us the Camry at Costco Pricing, instead they gave us a document that states Costco pricing, increased the MSRP to $37,219 for the exact vehicle (see 2nd photo) and tried to fraudulently make us believe that we were getting a deal! I contacted Costco Auto Buying service next day and even they said dealers are not to increase MSRP, it's a NO NO! This is just WOW! read more
