It wasn't your typical corner haunt. There was an intentionality here that turned a simple evening out into a genuine education. The curation of spirits was nothing short of impressive, but what set the experience apart was the conversation. I arrived knowing the difference between a glass and a bottle, but left with a newfound appreciation for the nuances of rum, the craftsmanship behind a smooth whiskey, and the unexpected complexities hidden within a well-made vodka. Each pour came with a story, a history, and a level of expertise that transformed every sip into a lesson. The atmosphere was the perfect anchor for it all--utterly chill and devoid of the frantic, forced energy you find elsewhere. It was the kind of place where the music sits at just the right volume and the lighting invites you to actually linger. It was refreshing to find a spot that treats its craft with such respect while keeping the vibe completely grounded. I walked out feeling a little more cultured and a lot more relaxed. Consider this my official notice: I'll definitely be back.

The drinks were strong (in the best way ) but still super smooth and enjoyable. Shoutout to Rich for being such an incredible host--he made our group feel welcomed, taken care of, and really elevated the whole experience. A couple things to note: there is parking available, but it is paid (you can either text to pay or use the kiosk machines). The experience itself lasts about 40-60 minutes, which felt like the perfect amount of time. The only downside for me was that the bathroom is shared for both genders. For safety reasons, I personally wish they were separate--so ladies, I'd recommend going with someone just to be safe. You just never know. They also give you a little treat afterwards, which was a really nice touch and a sweet way to end the visit! Overall, I'd definitely come back and recommend it to others

The location is a bit hidden and the operations is small, but the quality of their spirits is quite impressive. There will also be a tasting with crackers and water to cleanse the palate. My favorite was the Skyline Gin, Espresso Liqueur (I can imagine Karen rolling her eyes ), and the Peated Whiskey. Karen was so wonderful from start to finish. She loves getting to know people and I loved hearing her stories. I could listen to them for days and learn so much from her and about her! The small warehouse packs a huge punch of information you receive. You get to understand how everything works and everything that Greg makes which was fun to learn about. Once you sit down and start tasting is where the most fun starts. They provide you with some water crackers and a lesson about drinking water and hydrating. I enjoyed it so much I wanted to find out more about Avital Tours. I found out they've been featured on national magazines and television shows from CNN to Travel Channel, and rank high on Yelp and TripAdvisor. I also discovered that the company started off in San Francisco. They're a food tour company that's built by locals for locals. So you don't have to be a tourist to take a tour. In fact, most of the people in the event I was at are all LA locals, who work and live in Southern California. The Los Angeles tours are broken down into 3 tour versions: - To a tourist visiting LA, looking for more than touristy destinations - To a local who wants to learn more about our great city - To a company who wants to do team building I decided to select The Local, which is a 3 hour walking tour. looking They offer 4-course progressive prix-fixe dining experience that begins with a welcome drink and then visits 4 restaurants in 3 hours - two appetizers, one entree, and one dessert, with a sprinkling of culinary history and stories in between. There are 2 walking tours to choose from: - Downtown LA - Venice Beach They also added a Korea Town Food Tour which is limited to 12 people. Prices for the 3 hour tours are (16+ yrs): $79.00, or with alcohol (21+ yrs): $95.00. If you need a unique gift, they offer gift cards. It's quite an ideal event for a girls night, celebration, or even a group outing where you can re-discover Los Angeles as a local, hosted by a fellow local. Private events are available, with a 6 person minimum.

She shared interesting stories about the neighborhood and the restaurants, which made it feel more like exploring the area with a knowledgeable friend rather than a typical tour. The food was delicious and plentiful, and we even met some really nice new friends along the way. Our very first Six Taste tour was actually the Arts District tour back in 2016, so it was special to return ten years later and experience it again. Over the years we've also enjoyed their tours in Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Thai Town, Koreatown, and Little Tokyo. Six Taste Food Tours is a family-owned, LA-born-and-raised business, and you can feel the love, pride, and intention in every part of the tour. We did the Little Tokyo food tour and it was incredible from start to finish. Sally, the owner and our guide, is an absolute force. She is warm, knowledgeable, fun, and has the best energy. She doesn't just show you where to eat, she teaches you the history, culture, and stories behind the neighborhood while making sure everyone feels welcomed and taken care of. And the FOOD. Wow. You will not leave hungry. Sally feeds you like family and thoughtfully curates each stop so you're getting a true taste of the neighborhood, not tourist filler. Every bite was delicious and meaningful. This is not just a food tour, it's an experience. You're learning, laughing, vibing, and eating extremely well. If you live in LA or are visiting, this is a must. They offer tours in so many different neighborhoods, and after this one, I want to do them all. Do yourself a favor and book it. You will not regret it.
