My go to coffee spot in the beacon! Located in the Beacon with plenty of parking and other cute shops. I'm surprised I haven't review this place given how often i frequent this place. The matcha is the BEST I've had ever in the states. Everything I've had on their breakfast menu hasn't disappointed either. My favorite is the breakfast sandwich on a croissant with tomato jam. When I'm feeling healthy, I'll get the Cedros (no carb brekkie). The staff and ambience have always been nice too. I like picking the spot for a place to meet up with a friend to catch up or just to catch up on some work!

I came here in between work and picking up family from the airport. I wanted to get food and a tea, but then changed my drink to the Seasonal Pumpkin Pie Cloudy. I'm such a sucker for anything seasonal. It was a pretty good Kyoto-style cold brew, house-made pumpkin spice, shaken organic heavy cream. I sure do love a cold brew coffee. I also got The American sandwich. Which came with Artisan multi grain bread, roasted turkey, aged cheddar, dill pickle, sweet onion, mustard aioli & a side of ceaser salad. It was pretty appetizing. The Artisan multi grain bread was nice and soft and a little crunchy. The pastries they had looked so good. I got the matcha donut. It was too sweet for some of my family, but I enjoyed them. It was a nice bittersweet taste for me. It's been a long time since I have been to a Lofty coffee shop. I did enjoy visiting their booth at the Del Mar food & wine fest this year. The service at this location was pretty laidback. It was a nice cafe with plenty of seating inside and in the 2 patios.

I just had a bizarrely exceptional breakfast. The poached eggs with the avocado toast is spot on (The Encinitas) is a banger. The iced cold brew has such a depth of flavor and this is where it's easy to recognize that there are different grades of coffee. And Lofty is on the very high end. Clearly the beans are grown, processed and roasted with great care. The place was buzzing, it was packed, but I didn't have to wait long and I still found a table. The service was also exceptional. A new hire trainee took my order, but she was being chaperoned by a manager, and they collectively delivered an exceptional experience that was both swift and memorable. I believe that this is the best nexus of food, service and ultra high quality coffee in North County.

Lofty Coffee nails it--especially if you're into NOLA-style coffee. Bold, smooth, and just the right amount of sweet. Even with a line out the door, the staff kept things moving quickly without missing a beat. I had the sausage, cheddar, and egg sandwich on a croissant--super tasty and the croissant was perfectly flaky. Definitely hit the spot. The open concept layout kept the space cool and breezy, even with the sun shining. Great service, quality food & coffee. Can't wait to go back.

Cold morning tea and breakfast. Cozy up to a friend and fun atmosphere at lofty! Service is great and food is satisfying. Drinks look pretty and hit the spot on a cold morning. My barista put a splash of charcoal into my London Fog and it not only looked amazing but it tasted amazing. Full of flavor. The House Toastie was a satisfying bite to start the day.

Friendly service, super attentive and it's in a great area. Loved the ambiance and layout!

    "Endive" salad. lol

They had an endive salad that had barely any endives in there. Service is slow and staff often seem bored and unwelcoming. If you ask for the WiFi, they'll tell you the password but won't tell you WiFi only works at the main table by the entry. Any other spot in or outside of the shop you won't get WiFi. The coffee is sour. The food is mid. The only thing nice about the coffee shop is the ambiance is nice and is at a nice mall. It damn. It could be so nice.

This place is cute! It's just really f**king expensive. Tea and a superfood bowl will run you $25. Otherwise the tea and the superfood bowl I had were really good. The woman who took my order was very friendly and I felt welcome. If you have infinite money, then definitely go here because that's literally the only issue I had with it. I already wince a bit spending $20 at sweetgreen for a salad in the same parking lot. Thats La Costa, baybee...

Ask the Community - Lofty Coffee La Costa

Are you allowing outdoor seating at this time? I need to do an interview and am struggling to find a place to meet. (& I LOVE your coffee😍)

Hi there! We are not allowing outdoor seating yet, per CA regulations, so sorry!

Is oat milk an option there? I use to go to the location in Encinitas but haven't been back to any Lofty location because oat milk is not an option there.

Yes. That was what I had when I went. It's always my preference

The seating was spacious and comfortable, and the service was great throughout. We tried the goat cheese & spinach quiche, summer salad, crème brûlée, and lemon meringue tart. The summer salad was fresh and loaded with smoked salmon, avocado, mango, and pistachios. Definitely save room for dessert. The crème brûlée had that perfect crunchy caramelized top, and the lemon meringue tart was really cute and had a nice balance of tart and sweet. You can taste the quality in every cup, and the drinks overall are excellent. That said, my Red light it's really expensive for most people, so it feels more like a treat than an everyday stop. The one area they could improve is the service. The staff sometimes feel a bit rushed and not super helpful, especially if you're new or asking questions about their drinks. They don't always take the time to explain things. To be honest it's more like they just want to take your order and move on to the next customer. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5. Great drinks and quality beans make it worth visiting, but the higher prices and inconsistent service keep it from being a regular favorite for me. If you love good coffee and don't mind paying a premium with okay service, it's still worth checking out.

I usually order an iced matcha latte with oat milk and a Sweet Toast inside the market, then when I'm ready I switch to a cup or two of hard kombucha, which always has ingredients plucked from the farm, depending on what is seasonal. Everything is always delicious and delightful. Service at this walk-up coffee area is friendly. There is plenty of seating outside, in the front or back of the open-air market, and lingering for hours is encouraged. I like taking a walk around the perimeter farm while I'm there as well. There is an apothecary and a brewery on the premises, as well as a coffee roasting area. This part of the farm always seems to be closed for a private event, but that just adds to the bustling and community atmosphere. There is a couch area with a fire pit (and one in the back) in addition to the assortment of tables, a huge grass area and a natural (wood) climbing structure for kids to play, and sometimes they have live music there. There are always families and Encinitas locals hanging out and enjoying all that this place has to offer. There is a pizza stall in front of the market, as well as Huerta Tacos stand in back. Hours for these vary depending on the day. Both are not cheap, but the food is fresh and delicious, made with quality ingredients and interesting flavors. I sometimes treat myself to either, depending on who I'm with or what time of day it is. There is also a restaurant upstairs, and I have eaten there once, but prefer coming to hang at the Harvest Market and getting my food and drinks there. The Cook said most of the pizzas can be made with the vegan cheese. Included a few nice options with pesto sauce, truffle, mushroom, and more. After seeing a few come out out of the oven with the bubbled crust, I'm looking forward to returning and giving one a try. It seemed to be the favorite menu item of the outdoor diners, as the tables were full of them. Parking is on a dirt and gravel stretch so skip the sandals and flip-flops & wear closed toed tennis shoes. There are walking paths around the properties so you can get in a nice stroll before having a nibble and a drink. The path around the property you'll see their crops of produce and flowers growing as well as the animals they have: horses, goats pigs. Upstairs after 4 PM, they have a nice clean-looking modern style restaurant featuring a nice menu with a variety of six vegetarian and one vegan pasta option. The hostess, who claimed she was also vegetarian was quick to point out all the vegetarian options some can be converted to vegan by omitting the cheese or dairy ingredient. There's a nice tall bar upstairs with stools and one TV for watching news or sports. Apparently they have a brunch weekends only with a menu that also looks very inviting. The property has a large selection of bottled wines, a micro brewery and a coffee bean brewery. Family friendly, a nice place to go to get a bite and drink, stretch your legs, enjoy fresh air (although a bit dusty near parking lot). Country music is playing loudly in and around the property. We have an expanse of grass for picnic in a play area that's very natural and organic and appearance and a glass house which opens up onto a hard scape patio available for a private event events. The people were friendly and welcoming. It's a spot of natural plot of country near the coast line in Encinitas.
