Stopped in for a quick drip coffee on a Sunday morning, service was quick and the staff were super friendly. The location is really nice as it's tucked away but still super accessible. They have the tables spread out outside and quite a bit of space still to sit. They've got everything setup pretty well to get your drink quickly and in a socially distant manner. Ordered a coffee and a croissant. Got the coffee but after an hour they forgot the croissant. I went back up to the register and asked for a refund. He asked what it was for and I said croissant. Probably come here more than I should. I really like the food and the coffee. The staff is really helpful and kind which is great. This is also a really great location for me but I also know they have several other locations. Some reasons why I'm only giving Lofty four stars: 1) Wi-Fi isn't great I've seen other people work there so I was hoping to as well but it didn't work out too great. 2) Lofty only has one size for all their drinks I on occasion order two because one isn't enough for me . But maybe that's how they get you to spend more money I don't know. Overall currently one of my favorite places for quality and convenience. Also the croissants are super buttery and good. Everything about this place deserves 5 stars. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and the coffee is the best in town. The Lofty team seems to truly care about every detail in what they serve you and it shows both in their ingredients and food/drink presentation. Baked goods are made in house locally and the ingredients in every dish are high quality! This is a perfect spot to meet up with friends while enjoying a cup of coffee. This is my new haunt. Im a huge fan of the Aztec mocha (beware--it's spicy!!). Everything I've had on their menu has not disappointed. From the farro bowl to the Turkey sandwich, it's all good sized portions, fresh, and delicious. And it all feels super nutritious too. And can I just say: the PICKLES! Super tart and strongly flavored to give everything a kick. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. They all recognize me and greet me like an old friend. I really love this place! read more

I'm excited they finally opened this location so close to where I live. The choices nearby have been seriously lacking. When I first moved to north county lofty was the first coffee I found that I liked. This is a pretty, light and bright location with cool ceiling stars and a clean aesthetic. The food looks good but I only had coffee (this time) which was tasty like all lofty locations. I also love and appreciate all the alternative milks on the menu. Lots of outdoor seating is great too! This mall will be great when it's done, with la costa wine and lofty coffee what else do you need? But seriously can't wait to see what else they will put in here. read more

Whew! Lofty Coffee is pricey. I paid $7 for an iced mocha with oat milk. Now, don't get me wrong, it was good and I don't regret it, but maybe not $7 good. Other local coffee shops nearby have bigger mochas for cheaper prices, but this mocha had better taste. I'd come back to Lofty if it was with a great friend again. My mocha latte had some really tasty cocoa notes! I could taste that it was higher quality than most other places (hence the price). I can't put my finger on it, but it had more of a rich dark cocoa flavor rather than the typical glaringly chocolate flavor that most mochas have. I appreciated the dark cocoa a lot, I just wish I could taste more of it!! Maybe I'll ask for a little bit extra next time. The baristas were awesome! Super kind and seemed like they were having fun while working. I also appreciated how open Lofty is, and you can feel the breeze from the lagoon blowing in and out of the entire cafe. A perfect place to sit and hang out for a quiet chat, like I got to. If you can afford it, give Lofty a try for yourself! read more

Food is consistently good as well and they have a lot of organic or gluten free options. I usually grab a coffee and a bite to eat here once a week and it is consistently great. The setting is also nice and I've always been able to find parking within 100 yards of the place. Once in a blue moon they forget an ingredient or something small on a to go order but overall it's my favorite coffee shop for a lot of reasons. read more

I met a friend at this location (La Costa) yesterday afternoon. I have a dairy allergy, so ordered a decaf latte with almond milk. It came quickly, but 15 minutes later, I was sneezing ...I should've sent it back at that point, but unfortunately didn't. I ended up with hives after I left. If you have dairy allergies, do not go here. They aren't careful about dairy contamination in the least. read more

The food was great, staff was very friendly, coffee was great. Unfortunately, if I'm at a coffee shop it's to work remote for a few hours and there is not a SINGLE outlet in the entire store. My laptop was running low on battery. I was told this was an intentional choice of management. So after spending $30 on food and coffee, I now can't do the work I came to do. To chose not to use outlets so people don't "linger" honestly feels so dismissive of customers and defeats the purpose of what many people come to coffee shops for. Big miss. read more

I am super happy Lofty has opened in La Costa! I can go there whilst charging my Tesla. I can visit there after my workout at Equinox. My only complaint is that they close earlier than their other locations. I wish they would especially stay open past 15h on the weekends. On Sundays I think it would be beneficial for Lofty to be opened later because so many Tesla charging patrons plug in and head to Lofty only to walk back to their cars disappointed Lofty closed early on a Sunday. This Lofty location is as big as the downtown location, and bigger than both Solana Beach and Encinitas locations. There is ample seating inside and out. The outside patio overlooking El Camino Real has pretty sunset views over La Costa Canyon. And of course the coffee is good! It's Lofty--- the best coffee in Southern California! read more

I love Lofty, and am so excited they have come to La Costa. This will be my new go-to spot. It has an upscale feel. The shop itself it a little dark because of the long hallway feel to the seating, but the front area is graced with huge windows. This coffee is far and away a better product than the chain coffee across the street. I'm a sucker for a Long Black, and this does the trick. They specialize in organic coffee and eats, which is great. They have dog friendly outdoor seating on the side too. Service has been friendly and efficient. I like that you aren't sitting at a table on a busy street like the Encinitas location. Reason for a less than stellar review is b/c of the food. Not only is it really expensive, but my croissant sandwich with ham and cheese ($12.50) came with a weird sweet jelly. No thanks! read more

I am married to a Colombian who drinks a lot of coffee so I thought this review would be appropriate and by default would automatically give me more street cred.... I wont bore you with all riff-raff and I will simply state their NOLA Cold Brew is the best I have ever had. Im not sure what they put in it, but its simply fantastic. Its refreshingly different than other companies Cold Brew. Being a gringo, pretty much all hot coffee tastes the same (Im getting the stink eye from my wife) to me. But the Cold Brew is different and fresh and their version is simply special. I encourage everyone who reads this to skip Starbucks this week and go support this local spot. It was so busy in there, I completely forgot to take pictures. I got the Turkish latte and the almond butter on toast. Everything was delicious. I love coffee though so I was glad for the coffee with milk balance on my coffee. It was delicious. I love that the baristas take their time crafting coffee because I believe it's art and it's not just about how fast you can make it but how well. There is a parking lot so parking was easy. The line to order was out the door so it should say enough about how good it is. It was also packed inside as well. 10/10 recommend! read more

Lofty quickly became one our favorite places to get coffee and breakfast in the San Diego area. The sausage, egg, and cheddar croissant was delicious. My fiancée and I have been to many restaurants for brunch in San Diego, but Lofty is one of the only breakfast stops on our must-visit list when we're in the area. The Cloudy with a Chance of Cold Brew drink was also excellent. While we were only in the area for a few days, we made several trips to Lofty just for this high quality coffee. We've also ordered beans several times now. Every time we've visited, the team at Lofty has taken great care of us and the lines have moved fast. The decor is also very tasteful, and we had no trouble finding a comfortable spot on the patio. We always look forward to visiting and just wish there was a location in Northern California! read more
