What a fantastic experience, our first time eating there our server was wonderful. Our food was even better. My husband said it was the best lamb chop he had had. And oh my God, the carrot cake.

I had fond memories from my last visit here. Still good. Just not as stand out as it could be . . . more unique flavors, etc. It definitely is a touristy venue, both in its prices and turning of tables, not to mention its promotion of Saganaki. Service was okay. As a frequent midwesterner, prone to steak houses, I need a little more to earn that 5th star.

A very mediocre steakhouse with very dark lighting. Service is very friendly but also very relaxed so I wouldnt eat here if you wanted to be somewhere after. Had the beef kabob and it came with barley soup. Beef kabob I would pass on as it was chewy. It came with a side of potatoes and we had it as greek fries which I would also pass on because they were not crispy and also chewy. Also had the pork bbq ribs and they truly did fall off the bone and were worth the price.

This is one of the oldest steak house in Illinois and well worth a visit. This historic steakhouse is a must-visit. The lamb is delectable, and the martini is expertly shaken. Located on Main Street, it's a great place to stroll and shop.

Service was excellent. Very nice romantic atmosphere. Mixed drinks were watered down so I wasn't happy about that. The prim rib was delicious but very pricy. For 2 prim rib dinners it cost $167.00 . Lots of delicious steaks to choose from. We had a very nice time. Always a winter favorite destination.

Everything about this place is top notch. The cocktails are well balanced and came with candied cherries (awesome touch!). We started off with sharing the saganaki. Husband got the bone in ribeye and creme brulee. I got the surf n turf with chocolate cake. We talked about our meal for days after and are already planning our next trip to Galena JUST to come back for Log Cabin. This is a MUST SEE! Our server Zack was awesome! Zack knew the menu well and elevated the experience (we actually ordered based off his recommendation). Beautiful, antique log cabin decorations in very romantic low lighting. I can't say enough good things about this place!

Dino and Sam deliver an excellent meal in the heart of the greatest small town in America. Prime rib is legit, deserts are fantastic all around must do in Galena. Dinner for 5 drinks, steaks, desert, 240 coconuts

From the moment we made our reservation, the staff was incredibly accommodating. By no means is this a typical "bring the kids" type of dining establishment, but sometimes parents just gotta do what they gotta do... and the staff at Fritz and Frites were truly so kind and accepting. The kids drew with crayons on the table paper cover and ate some delicious mac and cheese from the sides menu. They were as content as the adults were with their meals! Speaking of our meals, I ordered the Poulet Roti. An absolutely delicious roasted chicken dish, which I believe is the best chicken I've ever tasted! Children are welcome and there is a limited menu for them as well. But, when you are paying these prices, you expect a little bit more than what VV's has to offer. First, the toasted ravioli's are clearly mass-produced and just heated at the restaurant. Then, people must love the idea of salad and garlic bread (like the OG), but this is not a great offering. The bread is like that you would get at a pizza place with your order of pasta and the salad is literally swamped in onions and dressing. The pasta is house made, and fine, but that was about all that was okay. The veal marsala is just odd. The sauce is the consistency of a thick, brown gravy and it just serves to disguise the over-cooked meat. At over $100 for one adult and two kids, you'd be better-off elsewhere. Extra star for the wonderful service from Gracie.
