Ah, a night in Galena, and our anniversary to boot! Where else to go but The Log Cabin? We were looking for the best steakhouse, and YELP did it again! Great reviews! We got a resevation a week before, and it was a good thing. This place books up quickly, so if you want to get a seat, CALL FIRST! We arrived several minutes early out of respect to assure if they had an opening, we could be seated. Our seating was perfectly aligned with our reservation. We had a nice seat in a long room, with typical western regalia on the walls and ceilings. I should note the servers who were on the tall side were experts at tipping their heads to avoid the lighting. We started with an order of Flaming Saganaki (the sign does say GREEK Steak House) which arrived at the table sizzling, and created quite a large flame when it was lit up with a hearty OOOPA from the servers. It tasted as good as saganaki usually does of course. The salads came out, and were quite good. You have your choice of dressings, which were more than enough to cover the salad. I failed to mention the bread and butter, which while not pictured, were very good. The entrees came out - my wife had ordered the 20 ounce Prime Rib, and it was beautiful. I honestly had second thoughts about my Filet order her Prime Rib was so spectacular, and fortunately for me, she took pity on my eyes and gave me a few chunks to enjoy. The Filet Mignon was perfect. So tender, so juicy, and well-seasoned. I cut it in increasingly smaller pieces to enjoy it more. We really enjoyed our visit, and we believe you'd enjoy it too!

We came here for to celebrate my dad's birthday and it turned out to be a wonderful evening. The service was very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was very dark and intimate. We ordered the saganaki to start, which was flambéed table side and it was fresh and delicious. We shared the porterhouse and the lamb chops (which were loins, not ribs) and there was an extra $8 charge on shared plates. The porterhouse was very tasty and cooked to perfection. The filet portion was my favorite part. The lamb loin chops were very thick and came with 4 large pieces. Each order came with a side salad or soup, and some type of potato, with many options to choose from. I love the Greek influence on this steak house restaurant. This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion or for a nice dinner.

Another must eat here again if ever again in Galena. Amazing food, service and romantic atmosphere. The steak and lamb chops were the size of Goliath. Delicious salad and a loaded bake potato the size of the Idaho truck. Took 1/2 home and ate next night for dinner. Was almost as good as served the day before. Thank you Log Cabin will never forget that scrumptious meal.

What a fantastic experience, our first time eating there our server was wonderful. Our food was even better. My husband said it was the best lamb chop he had had. And oh my God, the carrot cake.

I had fond memories from my last visit here. Still good. Just not as stand out as it could be . . . more unique flavors, etc. It definitely is a touristy venue, both in its prices and turning of tables, not to mention its promotion of Saganaki. Service was okay. As a frequent midwesterner, prone to steak houses, I need a little more to earn that 5th star.

A very mediocre steakhouse with very dark lighting. Service is very friendly but also very relaxed so I wouldnt eat here if you wanted to be somewhere after. Had the beef kabob and it came with barley soup. Beef kabob I would pass on as it was chewy. It came with a side of potatoes and we had it as greek fries which I would also pass on because they were not crispy and also chewy. Also had the pork bbq ribs and they truly did fall off the bone and were worth the price.

    Greek salad

Service was quick. Cute and moody interior. The Greek salad was fresh and tasty. It's hard to say good things about the porterhouse. Uneven cooking and bland in taste. No crust whatsoever and kind of felt like I was eating a chuck roast. Mostly disappointed in this place overall.

This is one of the oldest steak house in Illinois and well worth a visit. This historic steakhouse is a must-visit. The lamb is delectable, and the martini is expertly shaken. Located on Main Street, it's a great place to stroll and shop.

Service was excellent. Very nice romantic atmosphere. Mixed drinks were watered down so I wasn't happy about that. The prim rib was delicious but very pricy. For 2 prim rib dinners it cost $167.00 . Lots of delicious steaks to choose from. We had a very nice time. Always a winter favorite destination.

Dino and Sam deliver an excellent meal in the heart of the greatest small town in America. Prime rib is legit, deserts are fantastic all around must do in Galena. Dinner for 5 drinks, steaks, desert, 240 coconuts

This is a classic, cozy spot with intimate vibes and a cute, old-school sign out front that sets the tone. The flaming saganaki was definitely a highlight--fun to watch and deliciously gooey. My boyfriend got a steak and said it was solid. The atmosphere feels like a timeless supper club, and the service was super diligent--attentive without being overbearing. Good date night spot when in Galena.
