Mesquite grilled pork chops with baked sweet potato

Haven't been to Logan's Roadhouse in a while so decided to go there for dinner. Ordered the Southern Peach with Tito's and that was delicious. For the main course ordered the mesquite grilled pork chops and grilled salmon with shrimps. Everything was delicious! Our server Brian was great. The ambiance was chill. I think the decor can use an update but other than that it was a good experience.

Great quality steak! My New York strip was juicy with a perfect char, but the wait time for our table was longer than expected. The desserts made up for it, though.

We ate there on Sunday, May 22nd. I ordered the smoked wings with teriyaki sauce as appetizer. Wings were delicious, the sauce was great. The grilled meatloaf was very tasty, mashed potatoes and gravy, delicious. The broccoli was overcooked. Overall a very tasty meal. Our server was very attentive and came by regularly.

It had been a couple years, and I really was looking forward to a return here. First off thank you Casey. A very good employee! My son and I give you an A plus, but it is with sadness, that I can't recommend this place. I doubt will be back, as used to frequent this establishment often. Covid was a game changer for restaurants, and it's understandable why the peanuts are gone. Yet I now understand why a competitor like Longhorn, is literally having success in its beef with your company. It all comes down to cost and food quality. Longhorn is cheaper. Okay your rolls are better than their bread, but that's not exemplary. The steak I order yesterday was medium, and not medium rare. That happens. Yet what really disappointed me was the cut. A lot of fat and no flavor. Boring to put it nicely. French fry portions were small, although kudos on a delicious sweet potato. This is a clean and good looking restaurant, but I'll be sticking with Longhorn.

After checking in, we were quickly guided upstairs to a cozy, rounded booth--an intimate and perfect spot for two. Our server, Katie, was fantastic--attentive, knowledgeable, and refreshingly honest when helping us choose between dishes. We started with the deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes, paired with the Black Sheep Mule and a watermelon cocktail (wish I remembered the name!). For our mains, we ordered the short rib rigatoni and the steak bulgogi bowl. To finish, we shared the weekly dessert special: an Earl Grey tres leches. Everything was exactly what I hoped for and more. The starters were standout, the entrees were packed with flavor, and the overall aesthetic of the space was just beautiful. We'll definitely be back--next time for brunch!

It was also my first time at The Black Sheep but I had always heard wonderful things - all of which turned out to be true. The loft area is beautiful and overlooks the entire restaurant. Also when you reserve the loft, which holds up to 16 people, you order off the regular menu. I loved this as other places I checked into were much more restrictive with a higher minimum spend and fixed menus for groups larger than 8. We had 12 in our group. We started with a bunch of appetizers for the table and cocktails. Appetizers included the bacon tower, fried green tomatoes, hushpuppies, crispy chicken wings, and Mediterranean garlic shrimp. Dinner entreés were jambalaya pasta, the American wagyu burger, pulled short rib rigatoni and branzino almondine. There were zero complaints. We enjoyed EVERYTHING!! The bourbon butter cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert literally took me over the top. My belly was ready to burst :) Our waiter was attentive throughout the entire time and everything we ordered came out perfect. I must go back soon. It is a distance from where I live but there's so many things on the fabulous menu I want to try.

This past year has had a lot of challenges, so it was a pleasure to get a nicely cooked medium rare sirloin steak. My respects to the chef and wait staff. Absolutely solid, and this is a really nice location. If you eat alone as I do, or have a significant other, family, you'll like this too. Other steakhouses are too expensive. Yes even that boomerang one. This is a better value, with much higher quality. Love the sweet potatoes. Admittedly with butter and cinnamon, it may not win in the healthy category. Yet everyone should try this delicious treat. The bread is fresh and tasty. Super clean restaurant also. I'd like to say thank you again, as this is my favorite Longhorn location. I'm not gonna say that their wings will be my new go-to, or that they're the best ever, but I will say that if I was driving thru town and my stomach rumbled, and I was craving wings, they'd be at the near-top in my list of places. The wings were tender and juicy, with a nice beautiful rich smokey flavor. I'm not sure if they marinade the meat or not, but when it's cooked it retains an enormous amount of flavor; whatever seasoning they use also seems to be put on top as well, because there's always a nice little sprinkling of flavored flakes on top of the wings. The flavor is simply amazing. With these wings comes a compliment of side sauces. The orange is a moderately spicy tangy hot wing sauce. I assume the white sauce is ranch - I have never needed it! I think they should simply ditch the sauces and let the wings speak for themselves. The wings are so amazing on their own. When you pair the wings with the side of wing sauce all the flavor, that the wings did have, just goes right out of the window, and is replaced by a burst of heat. There's not much flavor to the sauce, it's just HEAT. Sure, there's something there, and it doesn't taste bad at all, but the next seconds all your mouth can process is HOT HOT HOT. And the heat fades quickly, thankfully. It has a nice tangy almost BBQ taste to it, with a slight sour note on the end. The hot wing sauce, in my opinion, takes away from the great taste of the wings by flooding it with a rapidly-fading spicy hot flare, rather than complementing the exquisite taste of the original flavors and high quality wing meat. But, to each their own taste buds - I'm just glad it's a side of sauce and not something they put on without your asking. The wings have a slightly crispy exterior, and a decent amount of inner fat, and plenty of meat on them! I am very pleased with this menu item. The shrimp was great. I mean, its small shrimp breaded and deep fried, what more could be better about it? Fresh hot and delicious fried shrimp is the best! I almost always get this when I come here, simply because the portion is enough to fill you up for a lunch-time snack, AND it's relatively cheap, by 2 or 3 dollars less, compared to everything else on the menu like the salads and the steaks...

She gave zero f's that we clearly were not served what we ordered. My advice is to be more assertive if you're not satisfied with your food. It was the standard white queso that I commonly associate with the Midwest because for the longest I couldn't get it on the East Coast, but it's not queso fundido. They offer Coke from a fountain, which is a huge plus. And the salsa was really good. The chips and salsa were free, so they absolutely get bonus points for that. While looking at the menu, we were served the complimentary chips and salsa which was good. For entrees, we had Filete ala Crema, al Gusto Soup, and Tacos (I forgot which one specifically). The serving sizes were humongous! The Filete ala Crema could probably we shared by 2-3 people. I could say the same for the soup and the tacos. We could say that the seafood was fresh - no funny smells and the food was prepared well. The prices were reasonable. We would love to go back for when we are craving for seafood.

This is my second review for Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Gainesville, VA. My wife and I can…read moreconfidently say this is our go-to spot for great food, service, and ambiance. You can always tell when a restaurant has strong chemistry among its staff -- and that comes from being managed by people who truly care. The place is spotless, and the food is always five-star -- tasty, hot, beautifully presented, featuring amazing seasonal specials, and consistently appetizing. The reason for this second review is to give a special shout-out to Cali from Nokesville (not California -- inside joke!). Nothing against today's younger generation, but it's rare to find someone with such natural ease in conversation. Cali is an old soul with a wonderful personality, genuine warmth, and incredible knowledge of the menu. She's the kind of server who doesn't just take your order -- she connects with you. Early in our meal, I asked about something that's normally only offered for to-go orders. Cali said she'd check into it, and I didn't think much of it. Well, an hour and a half later, after we'd finished dining and checked out, she came back -- having remembered my request -- and made it happen. That level of attention and follow-through is rare these days. Firebirds Gainesville continues to impress us in every way, and with staff members like Cali, it's easy to see why. Five stars all around!
