We stopped in during a very busy Christmas season and were still seated quickly, with attentive service almost immediately. The ambiance has a great rustic buzz, highlighted by the wood-fired stove and its impressive piping system that greets you as you walk in. The food didn't disappoint, perfect smaller portions for a late lunch before dinner. The fish & chips hit the spot, as well as the pulled pork sandwich that we all shared. The beer selection was spot on with plenty of solid choices. A classic Roslyn staple that continues to deliver.

I ordered 2 sides of wings, and fries TO-GO, after 15 minutes of waiting I went to the front desk and my order was supposedly ready but only the fries had been cooked. The server bagged my fries and asked about my wings which had not been started, so she asked them to be dropped in the fryer. After 5 minutes I realized what happened and asked for new, fresh fries because they get soggy sitting in the TO-GP box for another 10 minutes on the counter while the wings get cooked. She told me to calm down, like what I asked was rude, and I was out of line. She told the cook to "drop some more fries for him" rolling her eyes. I then asked for a refund and was treated like a bag of garbage. My friends and family will not be back for a good while based on this experience and lack of any compassion for an obvious mistake made by them. A simple apology would went a long way especially after a $53 bill for wings and fries, cooked separately like its normal.

He was friendly, funny, and helped us navigate the menu when we couldn't decide what to get. He also told us a little about the geological history of the area, which is built over an old coal mine. I don't think the ribeye or the potatoes were seasoned. I get that it came on a sweet onion jam, but that was just sweet. There was no salt or pepper coming through at all on the meat or potatoes. I wish we would have sent it back. I am just not that person. Luckily with enough fresh ground pepper and salt at the table, it made edible. We told our server, she didn't seem to care. We decided we couldn't end on a bad note with the ribeye medallion, so we got the lemon tiramisu. I have never heard of lemon tiramisu. It was so good. I highly recommend. I saw the chop tomahawk come out of the kitchen multiple times and it looked amazing. Ambiance is great. There is an open kitchen so that can be loud. Be aware there are high top tables when you make reservations. Would definitely go back.

My daughter and mother split the enchiladas with rice and beans. The food took a long time however our server made sure we were kept in the loop, apologized and gave us more chips and salsa rather than ignore us. The molcujete was so different. In a pot with all the different meats, veggies and cheese along with tortillas. I liked it at a 4.5 out of 5. However, my husband didn't like it as much giving it a 4 out of 5. My daughter & mother loved the enchiladas giving it a 5 out of 5. The churro dessert was amazing. Carry cash because this place does charge a service fee for using a credit card. I think this place would have been more like a 4.5 star if they didn't do that. In the past, that was the cost of doing business was accepting credit cards to get more business but now instead of adjusting pricing on their food businesses is adding it.
