I was never the girl who knew exactly what my wedding would look like, let alone my dress. I never imagined myself in a gown, whether it would be white, ivory, cream, or some other color. Whether it would be silk or lace. I honestly had no idea and had even less of an idea of where I'd look to even begin to find this non-vision I had for a wedding dress. When my sister suggested I check out LOHO, the first place I went to was their IG. I also did some research on Christy - I am a very brand loyal consumer, shopping from a pretty curated list of retailers and brands, and sticking to that. I felt an instant connection to LOHO after reading about how Christy got her start, why she started LOHO in the first place, and how she selected her brands. I then started researching those brands they carried and felt really drawn to one specific designer so it felt serendipitous that there just so happened to be a trunk show coming up for that designer. Although it was early in my engagement and with little in mind for what I wanted my dress to look like, I took one of the last available appointments for that trunk show. Fast forward to THREE scheduled sessions later, I was feeling convinced that I just wasn't a "wedding gown kind of girl". I wasn't upset about it at all. And thennnnn Christy - who I bonded with during my first fitting both through common friends and common loves of minimal style - brought in a sample that wasn't yet in store but would be shot for their look book. As soon as I put it on I knew. As soon as I saw the look on my mom and sister's faces, I knew. It was a Costarellos gown. We called it "The Kate Moss Dress". What a magical moment for someone who legitimately thought this whole wedding dress thing just wasn't going to be for me. The dress felt like it was made for me and if not for Christy's intuition, I would never have found it. I truly feel like Christy and the LOHO team set the tune for what was the most epic and magical year of my life. My experience at LOHO was absolutely wonderful. I have struggled with the whole wedding dress buying process; it feels overly commercialized, salespeople have been overly pushy, and so many stores have left me feeling overwhelmed. Walking into LOHO felt like I was in someone's backhouse. I absolutely loved how curated their selection was and how there was attention paid to who and where the dresses are made. You are, after all, purchasing probably the most expensive dress of your life and a piece of art and LOHO treated the dresses that way, as art. I worked with Kennedy and Macye. They were organized, never pushy, and it felt like I was shopping with friends. They were patient with me and when I asked to come back and try on the dress with my future mother-in-law, they quickly made time for me as the last appointment in the day and were super patient and loving. This bridal salon is what heaven looks like! It's clean, minimal, and is full with stunning dresses for the brides that want to look unique, stylish, and tasteful on their wedding day. Their sampling is so well-curated, there isn't a single dress in the salon that isn't gorgeous. The staff here is SO helpful and nice, and are not the least but pushy or "sales-person-y". The owner, Christy, is wonderful and answered the numerous questions I had for her via email before my fitting. I have been to 5+ bridal salons, and Loho Bride was by far my best experience. Planning a wedding is stressful. For me, it has been anxiety-inducing and just generally an unpleasant voyage of negotiating one's wishes with the reality of limitations - budgetary, logistical, emotional and otherwise. Everything is a compromise but I have to say that LOHO Bride was the one area in which my hopes and expectations were truly exceeded. I am not an overly feminine woman and thus am not someone that dreamt about my wedding down to every detail, from the time I was a child. Quite the contrary. For this reason, I really didn't know what I wanted in terms of a dress but had hoped that it would become evident once I put it on. That was precisely what happened. This past Saturday had been set aside for months as the day when I would find my wedding dress. My mom came into town especially for the occasion and one of my best friends (and a bridesmaid) helped me select boutiques and make appointments long in advance. The appointments were set all over Los Angeles and after driving for hours from one location to the next, a boutique I had been excited about cancelled on me at the last minute. We had not liked anything so far that day and were very disappointed and frustrated but I knew I had an appointment booked at LOHO in January that I was really looking forward to so I went ahead and gave them a call on the off-chance that they would allow us to come in (at the last minute) under strained circumstances. Miraculously, they agreed! Our little team of ladies drove BACK across the city as fast as we could to make it to LOHO before they closed. From the very moment we walked in, there was an ease and sophistication about the space, as well as the staff. Christy and Allie were knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, accessible, fun and incredibly kind throughout our time there. It felt like such a personalized experience...unlike the demeanor of many other bridal boutiques that have the tendency to make the bride feel as though she was just another number in an assembly line. As icing on the proverbial cake, Rosa, the designer of one of their featured lines - Cortana - happened to be in the store hosting a trunk show and I ended up selecting one of her beautiful pieces. It is sincerely a subtle, yet artful dress and while it is on the pricier side of things, I feel it will be worth every penny because it made me feel magnificent. Of all the boutiques I went to during my dress shopping, Loho was my favorite. I called them day of to see if I could make an last minute appointment and Christy the owner/founder picked up and was so accommodating. The store is located on Melrose and the store decor is impeccable in style. From the custom made architectural hanging racks to all the furniture each piece is unique. Their dressing room rug is definitely unforgettable :P They carry veils and accessories as well. Christy and Ali were so awesome during the appointment and they even offered to take pictures of me so that I could see them later. The brands and designers they carry are not typical and all special. For example Rime Arodaky, a French designer from Paris, is carried in this store and not any other in the US. I tried on several gowns the first appointment and wasn't ready to purchase so Christy invited me to the meet and greet of designer Rime Arodaky. I came back with 2 friends and they were also very welcoming with helping my friend as well. I ended up meeting Rime which was such a special treat and ended up buying the dress that day. Christy was incredible! She put me right at ease, and despite the stunning, unique designers that the store carries, it was a very low key experience. The staff was super patient with me and my parents, who accompanied me, and were super lighthearted and fun throughout the experience. Christy is a total gem, and would make any bride feel special! Excellent experience at LOHO bride for my wedding dress. My style is more modern but my in the know friend suggested that I check out LoHo (League of her Own). First of all, the experience is super relaxing. They only have one or two brides at a time, and the store feels like your chic friends living room, rather than a bridal store factory. They have sorts of curated styles from simple, modern to bedazzled and bohemian. The one consistent, was the dresses with unique, stylish and had a point of view. I spent months looking for a wedding dress and I visited almost every bridal shop in LA. To be honest, the process was difficult and it was mainly my fault because I didn't know what I wanted. I had never been the type of person who dreamed about having a wedding, so I had no idea what I wanted my wedding dress to look like. The only thing I knew is that I didn't want to look like a princess or a typical bride- strapless, sweetheart, mermaid, and tulle. The last thing I want to look like on my wedding day is "cute"! On more than one occasion I was told by a sales associate that the wedding dress I'm looking for "simply does not exist and that I should try looking for cocktail dresses in a department store." Even when I tried on wedding dresses that I actually liked, the cloud above my head would always read-"???". But when I walked into LOHO Bride, almost every dress there made me feel- "!!!!!" The owner, Christy, explained to me that she started LOHO Bride for the modern woman who never dreamed of getting married; after attending 9 weddings in a single year, she began to wonder "What would I wear if I were to get married?". It's no surprise that I found my dress here! The selection of designers at LOHO is truly tailored to fit the needs of the unconventional bride- think Kate Moss meets Rooney Mara. The thoughtfulness that Christy has put into LOHO Bride is incredible. She makes sure to have your "Happy Music" on when you arrive at the boutique, she'll pop open some champagne and she'll ask you about the vibe of your wedding. In addition to your fitting room, you'll have your own personal lounge area where your friends and family can hang out. More importantly, the boutique is sectioned off to have 2 of these fitting rooms w/ personal lounges so that you'll never have to see another bride trying on dresses. At other bridal boutiques, it was always so awkward to have to stand on a podium in the middle of a store and have a bunch of strangers stare at you (and secretly compare you to the bride standing a few feet away on the next podium). Christy and her staff are so chill and their good intentions are genuine. What I appreciated most about LOHO Bride is that I never once heard "You look incredible/amazing/OMG!!" from Christy or any of the staff until I actually chose THE dress. I can't stress how annoying that was to hear from other salespeople at other boutiques, mainly because they were putting those words in my head before I even had a chance to decide how I felt about the dress I was trying on. I noticed that salespeople who complimented me profusely were desperate to close a sale. I went to LOHO as the first stop scheduled in my dress hunt. And we had no idea we wouldn't really need to go anywhere else after! Our stylist Natalie was simply amazing. Super informed on designers, budget, alterations and more. She had an answer to every single question we had. She was so easy to talk to and was so helpful in finding other styles that I hadn't even considered at first. I went into wedding dress shopping with a serious feeling of dread. Being as picky as I am, I knew it was going to be a long and arduous road to find the perfect dress for my day. Turns out, coming to LOHO was the best decision I made because they erased all of those emotions completely. But don't worry, Christy and her team give you the option to try on the dresses YOURSELF, if you wanted to, which made the entire process just that much better at LOHO Bride. All the while, Christy or someone on her team is standing by to ensure when your ready to show your friends and/or family (only if you want to, of course) they are evaluating what you like and dislike about each dress to ensure that you've selected all the dresses that match all your criteria. LOHO isn't just a bridal boutique. It is a full on dream scenario for any bride. From the moment you walk in you are absolutely gobsmacked at the edgy yet timeless decor, the extremely friendly staff and, of course, their insanely gorgeous selection of gowns that you wouldn't find anywhere else. All of the their dresses are perfectly curated to show an array of different types of brides but the best part about it is the LOHO gals let you make everything your own without pigeon holing you into a genre. Besides the fact that it is a visual dream. Christy, the owner, could not be more of a gem. She's the type of person who makes you feel like you've been sharing BFF necklaces since the 5th grade, even though you just met 2 minutes ago. She will help you see out your vision with so much patience, care and overall excitement for you and your wedding day -- even if it takes a stupid amount of appointments, crazy indecisiveness and endless annoying emails (guilty). BRIDES BEWARE! I am so disappointed to write this review but even more disappointed with the entire team at Loho. First of all the experience from walking in the door was awful. No one really knows whats going on - it was clear on every visit back when I had to re-hash my situation with "new" sales reps each time. The net of the experience is I assisted a bride with her dress selection. She picked a non-ready to wear dress but was very concerned about how the top area would fit (she's larger chested). The sales rep swore up and down that the designer can accommodate by sewing in bralets and that no matter what it would look the same as the one she tried on. HUGE MISTAKE listening to the sales rep as she clearly lied to make the sale. The bride returned and tried on the custom dress and realized that in fact the top was not the same style/fitting as told it would be. The sales rep even went as far to tell her "just use boob tape" as if that was a solution (she did try that and it didn't work). This store has a lot of hype because they do carry an amazing amount of beautiful dresses but the service is horrible. You would think that after spending that much money on a single dress and for it to not arrive as previously promised that the owner would reach out. Nope, not once. No one took responsibility for this ridiculous mistake and the bride had to walk out with 2 dresses she will now have to sell on a bridal site as she won't be wearing them for the wedding. No apologies either. I am disgusted with this store and everyone working in it. Brides and friends of brides beware. Do you really want to change your bridal dress 2 months before your wedding? This is the part two of my review followed by the one I posted for Loho Bride SF location. In part one, I covered the overall experience as well as their dress collections. In this one I will be reviewing the fitting, purchasing and pickup experience at their lovely store on Melrose. After I tried the dresses in SF, I went in to the LA store for a second fitting before I made my decision. The store is in a golden location at the heart of Melrose adjacent to trendy places like the Revolve Social Club, Reformation, Fred Segal, Rachel Comey, and etc. The infamous pink wall of Paul Smith and Made in LA mural are all within walking distance. Since this is their newer store, it carried over SF's aesthetics but the interior design feels even like Scandinavian chic garnished with touch of SoCal vibe (picture that in your mind please). There are two fitting rooms so when you book your appointment online, you get to pick which one you want to reserve. And the two rooms are separated by an aisle of dresses and dandy accessories, so you can really enjoy your privacy while having fun trying all other options. Allie was super helpful throughout the whole process. She provided so much genuine insights on styling and sizing to make sure you find the dress that's meant for you. Even though we had a little wifi hiccup during the payment process, the bubbly made everything easier. I received the email payment confirmation momentarily. And in the email you get all the details of what to expect next. I'm not sure about other designers they carry, but because my dress is made to order, I purchased it in March and It arrived in early July. So do give yourself a little bit wiggle room in terms of timing. Not to mention that while I was eagerly waiting for my dress, I emailed them twice to check on the ETA. Christy and Allie are so good at responding promptly and the dress arrived on time as promised. And here comes the most exciting part - pickup! So when the dress arrived, I got an email notification and made an appointment for pickup. I'm sure you have the option to have it shipped to your home but I encourage you girls to pick it up in store where you will have the opportunity to address any last minute concerns and questions. My dress turned out a tad bit bigger because I dropped a few pounds while waiting for the dress to arrive. Allie recommended a few of their trusted seamstresses for a third fitting. One of them is right across street of their store which is super convenient. Ok, I think I've ran out of good words for LoHo Bride and Christy's crew. As I was preparing to go wedding dress shopping and making appointments at various bridal stores, Loho Bride was the store that I was most excited about. I looked up all of the designers that they carried in the store, and their dresses seemed the most unique. I wanted to make sure they had the dresses I was interested, so I reached out. Of the 5-6 dresses I asked about, they had none of them. To make things even more frustrating, I had to wait a long time to hear back with answers and when I asked if the dresses could be requested, I never even received an answer. Now let's talk about the day of my dress appointment. Wedding dress shopping can be overwhelming and it is very difficult to select which dresses you want to try by yourself because when you see a bunch of white dresses on the rack, they all start looking the same. Unlike the other bridal appointments I went to, the saleslady did not really help me look for any dresses. She just said, "Feel free to browse around." Prior to the dress appointment, I had to fill out a lengthy survey, indicating my taste in clothes, my wedding pinterest board, and even asked for my taste in music (which I thought meant they would be playing the music during my appointment. I thought to myself, "How cool and thoughtful!"). The survey said to please be detailed so it can help the store find dresses that I liked, so I did. There was absolutely no indication that this saleslady read my detailed survey, and nor did they play any of the music I said I loved. Let's move on to their dresses. I was extremely disappointed in their dress selection. They seemed old and worn out. The saleslady even said to me, "Yeah you're coming in at a weird time... we don't have as much selection as we usually do... maybe come back in a few months." Well, I really wish I had known that before I wasted my bridesmaids' time by bringing them here. Last but not least, I had no idea the prices of the dresses I tried on. She asked me which dresses I liked the best from the ones I tried, and I picked 3 and when I asked about the prices, she said she would email me that night with the name of the dresses and prices. And I'm sure by now you can guess what happened next. Absolutely nothing. I never received an email, and honestly, that's fine. Loho Bride was by far the worst bridal dress shop we went to. read more

Getting my dress at LOHO Bride was hands-down the best decision I made in my wedding planning process. I have very distinct taste and knew I wanted something unique and not a typical "bridal" gown. As soon as I arrived at LOHO I was confident I would find one - if not a few options - that would go perfectly with the vibe I was going for. LOHO carries the best designers, and has them before any other bridal boutique carries them (or likely even knows they exist). Christy, owner and creative director, made the process a total breeze, and held my hand every step of the way. She has an eye for up & coming designers, has curated the shop so beautifully (it's the most Instagrammable boutique - truly!), and is a total pleasure to be around. I filled out a survey in advance and when I arrived, she knew exactly the vibe I was going for, and made numerous references which made it obvious that she took a lot of time to review the survey prior to my appointment. During the appointment she spent so much time with my bridesmaids and I, which I found to be rare and refreshing, given that she is the owner. The second dress I tried on I was certain was "the one", but she still insisted that I try on at least 10 more options to be sure. Once I said "yes to the dress" there was still no urgency for us to leave - she let us lounge around, take multiple pictures, videos, FaceTime with my family in NY, and never once made us feel rushed or that we needed to wrap up the appointment. Overall, the appointment was casual (not stuffy), relaxing and so much fun - three things you don't usually hear when describing this process! As for accessories, I fell in love with a gold necklace, but since my ring is rose gold, I was looking for something in that metal. Just a few days later, Christy emailed me that she contacted the owner of that jewelry line, and was able to get them to make a custom piece for me in rose gold. Rachele is amazing and she helped me try on so many gorgeous dresses. I wish I could of found the one here but I found one that I almost got. I also emailed with Rachele so many times after and she was so kind and answered all of my questions right away. They have so many different styles from classic to more risky, unique styles. If you are a bride who wants to stand out and doesn't want the same dress as every other bride: go here. The service is top notch and you'll feel pampered. It's the most "cool girl" bridal shop that I went to -- in the best way (I wanted that). It's a really pretty shop and I have to say had the nicest bathroom of all the ones I went to. I had the best experience here. Christy was great and made the whole experience easy and fun. I loved every single dress I tried on. Sadly I didn't get a dress from here because I didn't find the perfect match. Every other bridal boutique I have been to feels like a let down in comparison to LOHO Bride. Very unprofessional, they really didn't care about their job. They have nice dresses though. I felt neglected and they didn't seem to care to much about people coming in and seeing me naked. I had to constantly be closing the curtains. They have a door at the back "where my room was" people keep opening that door" I just waisted 25 bucks on them. read more

Why this place is ranked so high I will never understand, especially considering my experience here. As a Bride this was one of the most special days for me, something I've looked forward to for years! I flew my mother and soon to be mother in law to LA and we spent two days going to bridal boutiques. LOHO bride was my third stop and by far the worst! The girl helping was so rude, didn't introduce herself asked me zero questions, I was mind blown at how horrible the costumer service was! I was so caught off guard by her demeanor that even though I found a couple of nice dresses I didn't want to support a business like this so I left. Took my friend here who is newly engaged. I was such an intimate experience and was so much fun. Our consultant, Allie, did such a wonderful job and even was in contact with a designer to make the brides customization dreams a reality. There was no pressure to buy, and we walked away very well informed about her favorite gown. The salon is gorgeous it's a bohemian dream, it smells of expensive candles and all of the gowns are gorgeous, unique and not overpriced. 10/10 would recommend for any bride looking for an amazing experience and something truly unique when it comes to bridal. read more

When you walk into LOHO you instantly know you've made the right decision to work with Christy and her team to find your dream dress (or jumpsuit). The space is overwhelmingly stunning and gives you total cool girl vibes. I decided to make my first appointment with LOHO because I wanted the opposite of traditional. No ball gowns, no sweet heart neckline. I wanted to feel original and I knew I could find that here. (Side note: while they do carry distinctive designs, they also have exceptional gowns that give you all the bridal feels.) Queue in the LOHO girls, my jams playing while I shop around and an incredible selection of unique and atypical gowns and 4th dress in, I found the ONE. You can expect to find a ton of style in both the store and the team. They will guide through what can be a very stressful process from trying on to purchasing to alteration recs, and help to put you at ease. I definitely recommend making an appointment at LOHO. Wedding dress shopping felt so intimidating, especially in LA, and I was dreading it. Wedding dresses are pricey, there's pressure to look your very best etc etc. I was so happy when I had my appt at Loho and met with Christy: she made it fun, made me feel comfortable, and was so respectful and supportive of what I liked even though it was simple (I was probably not her most exciting customer)! She brought out a lot of different dresses in my aesthetic for me to try as well as some other fun ones to stretch me a little and make sure I wasn't missing out on anything. This boutique is an absolute dream. The owner, Christy, takes her time to ask important questions about you and your big day, a gesture that really makes you feel like she cares. I never once felt pressured or rushed. Christy followed up with an email almost right away, again making it seem like she really cared. It felt like my pinterest board came to life when I walked into LOHO Bride! The store is filled with beautiful, modern, and chic dresses/accessories that caters to the non-traditional bride. Nothing wrong with traditional, but LOHO offers SO MUCH more. I hadn't tried on too many dresses but was already starting to feel overwhelmed. All the dresses I tried on were too boho or too traditional. I wasn't even that excited while on my way to LoHo, but once I started peeking around, I knew I'd find my dress here. You can tell the person who's in charge of their selection has impeccable taste!! Christy, the owner of LOHO, was an absolute babe! Her energy is like a chill friend who just wants to make you feel and look beautiful. I NEVER felt pressured - quite the opposite really. She's so accommodating and truly a pleasure to work with!
