I am the type of person who knows exactly what I want and don't want with clothing-so I had a list of two styles I wanted to try. Where to start!!! First of all, I had been obsessed with LOHO since before I got engaged. It was the only bridal shop I was interested in and followed. I knew I would find my dream dress there because they had such an amazing curated line of designers. Christy the owner is just plain and simple: GOALS. I had such heart eyes over her wedding. It was really one of the first that I had seen where I went "YES, that's IT, she gets it". That modern, chic, non-traditionalist wedding that just checks all the boxes. I knew I would be in good hands at her boutique. Fast forward a few years and I finally got to have my experience at LOHO. I flew all the way from Alaska for my appointment and brought my mom and sister along. I first went to their SF location but didn't find anything. (I expected this since it was consignment but mainly went to look at their beautiful shop lol) Then I flew to their LA location. Rachele was SOO amazing and totally made my experience comfortable and better than I imagined. I was really nervous going into it- as a size 10-14 at this stage in my life, I knew a lot of the dresses wouldn't fit and I prepared myself for that. Rachele found ways to make dresses fit my frame or at least let me visualize how it would look in my current size. She was so reassuring and she made me feel so confident in the dresses I tried on. She also made really great suggestions for dresses that would look good on my body type. You could tell she read my questionnaire and understood the vibe I was going for. I left there kind of on the fence about if I found THE one. I did feel like an hour wasn't enough time. Rachele emailed me that night with the info for the dresses I was interested in. I was really surprised/impressed with how quick she got back to me! Unfortunately I don't live in LA, so I decided to fly back AGAIN a little over a month later to try on a few more dresses. Rachele was really accommodating and made sure to give me another hour time slot. I ended up picking a dress that I went into not really having that much interest in. Again, Rachele emailed me just a few hours after my appointment. *A+ communication* Rachele really was a big part of the reason I picked that dress- I don't know if I would have even tried it on if it wasn't for her suggestion. She also helped me pick out my reception dress. I can't wait to wear my 2 wedding looks and I'm so glad I went to LOHO. Ooooh where to start?! I got my dream dress from LOHO and it was a fantastic experience all the way through. I'm one of those people who knows what they want in a way that can only be explained by trying on what they don't want. I had a vision about the feeling of my dress but not of what the dress should actually look like. That means I tried on A LOT of dresses. LOHO was the third store I went to and by far my favorite experience. It felt personal, tailored and just plain fun. There was no pressure to purchase and I genuinely felt that they wanted me to find the right dress not just their dress. Christy, the owner is in two words a Boss Babe. I now have a major girl crush on her and am so impressed and glad that she was able to find and fulfill the niche in the bridal market that caters to women who don't want to look like a cupcake and who want their normal style to shine through on their wedding day. I visited the store twice. On the first visit I was crushing on two dresses enough to bring my mom back. A friend of mine had tried on a dress in their SF store that they didn't have available in LA so on request they graciously flew the SF sample down to LA for my next trial and good thing because it was THE ONE. I knew it the second I put it on. It was a dress by an Australian designer, Suzanne Harward, I probably never would have found on my own which is another amazing facet of LOHO. They really have such good taste and a knack for featuring up and coming designers. Which also means they have a good price range. Something for most budgets. Christy even hooked me up with her bad ass seamstress, Ludmilla Couture, across the street who made my alterations perfectly. All in all I can't say enough good things about LOHO. I am so happy to be a LOHO bride!! What a time to be searching for a dress though - during a pandemic. Luckily, LOHO Bride took every precaution to make me and my guest feel safe while keeping their staff safe as well. I absolutely LOVED my experience here! AMAZING! I found my dress here! After almost settling for a dress I wasn't fully convinced by elsewhere, I was able to snag a last minute appointment at LOHO the night before. My mom and I came in and were instantly greeted warmly on Oct 19 by a couple of ladies up front. They made us feel welcomed before my stylist, Destiny, wrapped up her last appointment. Destiny was super sweet from the get-go and made me feel comfortable and confident while helping me try on all of the dresses I had picked out the night before. Their gown selection is expansive and gorgeoussss. I loved every single one of the dresses I tried on, feeling frustrated that I loved them all so much, but before I knew it found the dress that just felt right. Destiny helped my mom and I celebrate afterwards with some champagne, and they were able to get my measurements right there and then. I recieved an invoice with the option to pay online, and the dress does need to be paid in full in order to start production. The part that stood out to me the most is how genuine and uplifting everyone was, wedding dress shopping is stressful as is so feeling supported is something I totally appreciated. We loved our first visit, we were treated with kindness and bought a dress and cape, paid in full!! When I picked out me dress I loved how it fit and expressed how I liked that I could move in it and it was not constricting. When the dress arrived (a month+later than it was suppose to) in my size, it was very small. (I"m typically a size 2) I truly could not sit or lift my arms more than a few inches without fear of ripping it, and it looked very different than the dress I originally tried on. LOHO did not communicate effectively at my initial try on to explain what size dress I should order if I want it to fit a certain way. LOHO measured me. We asked the owner to come look at the dress at the first fitting and she expressed the designer is one of her good friends and that's what we ordered and "you will change into another dress after the ceremony anyway". I was not changing into another dress I planned on wearing it. The experience honestly made me feel embarrassed feeling like I was in the wrong for getting the dress but my Mom and sister were there at both appointments and were equally shocked at how it came in. LOHO recommended their in house seamstress to do the alterations.The seamstress was very kind and helpful throughout the process and was able to let out the dress a few inches in order to make it fit like it should have originally. We were never told that the alteration would affect its durability throughout the wedding night until after the wedding. At every fitting following, the dress was shockingly wrinkled. When we arrived for our final fitting and pick up it looked like it was in a heap at the bottom of the bag to the point where the boning even looked messed up. I tried on the dress wrinkly to see if I could suck it up, but I really wasn't sure if the dress was broken so I asked them to steam it to which I was met with annoyance.That was supposed to be a exciting moment picking up my dress but it just felt like we were an inconvenience because we politely asked them to steam the dress. Although the seamstress is a third party, the fittings were happening at the LOHO bride location where we communicated with the owner and staff consistently. Therefore their brand and image is also being reflected through those fittings and the pick up process. My dress ripped before my father daughter dance so we wanted to give LOHO bride the heads up so they were aware it didn't hold up throughout the night to communicate for future brides. Not a big deal, we just wanted them to know because we thought it would be helpful. Our attempt to kindly connect with LOHO bride about our experiences has been met with unprofessional and disrespectful responses. When you make a luxury purchase, I believe a level of hospitality should come throughout that process. It is a vulnerable experience getting a wedding dress and we consistently felt like an inconvenience up to the very end when we were just trying to be helpful. As discussed earlier, after the wedding we had reached out to give them the heads up about the dress ripping and my Mom was met with shocking responses and lies. Again I won't get into specifics but they were very unprofessional with the way they dealt with the situation (including concrete lies) We really hope they can create a stunning experience for every bride (influencer or not) , we just wanted to communicate our experience so people don't have the same experience we did. read more

LOHO is the absolute cream of the crop for gown shopping! Best experience I've had in a bridal shop. Julia was incredibly knowledgeable, and brought a fun, welcoming energy to the appointment. They had the 5 pre-selected gowns ready when I arrived, and allowed us to browse their showroom and choose any additional gowns; Julia also selected a couple to add to the mix. She suggested different veil and headpiece options to accessorize certain dresses. Everything was seamless, the gowns are STUNNING, and the experience was fun and comfortable, and the shop itself is gorgeous. Julia followed up quickly with an email that included pricing, photos, and next steps. Also I am not local to LA, but they offered to help me find a credible seamstress in my area. I love the idea of Loho bride. I was looking for something non traditional and fashion forward. I had made a trip to LA just for dress shopping. I didn't mind paying the $25 and enjoyed the questionnaire that really wants to get to know you and your style preference. I was looking forward to a unique experience because why else are you paying and taking time to fill out a questionnaire? I was unfortunately paired with a new bridal assistant. It was obvious she didn't read my questionnaire, and we had to cover just the basics of "where you getting married" and "what are you looking for". Then she just walked me through the designers names on the rack and left me on my own to pull dresses. I was really disappointed because I was expecting more of a tailored experience that help me recommend dresses that fit my style. It felt like any other bridal appointment. My appointment was in the early evening and my mom came with me. Standing outside were two valet guys that kept looking through the window between the blinds watching us and made my mom feel very uncomfortable. She mentioned it to the bridal associate and she claimed that it looks like they can see, but they really can't. This was completely untrue as we were able to walk by outside and look inside. Loho does carry some pretty cool designers and based on other reviews seems like they got to have a more taiiored experience. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't the same. I recommend that they train new their hires better and consider the window treeatments that make the appointment more private. Overall I was disappointed. read more

I recommend if you're near the LA area, please give LOHO Bride a try if you're shopping for your wedding gown! Christy and her team were amazing and really helped me find my dream dress! I had my heart set on wearing a gown by Odylyne the Ceremony, so I was able to make an appointment for their trunk show last March as well as request the Genevieve sample to try on. Christy was awesome and was also able to make a few more recommendations day of, but by the end of the day I knew I liked the Genevieve gown the best! There were some delays leading up to October when I needed to pick up my dress, but Christy personally called me to reassure that my dress would be ready in time and they delivered! After receiving my dress, the only alterations I needed were for the silk slip dress worn underneath the lace outer dress, but I was able to have it tailored down in size at a local Nordstrom. LOHO and their chic and friendly stylists are the best! I was shopping for my dress during COVID; family was on the east coast so I mostly had to shop alone. Macye, Rachele, and Christy were so welcoming, helpful, and kind. I went to several bridal shops in LA and found LOHOs options to be the most unique and fashionable (not princessy or overly glitzy which is my aesthetic). As someone who had NO direction or idea about my style, preferences and designers - all of the ladies made the experience fun, light and made me feel like I was enjoying an afternoon with my girlfriends - providing styling tips and honest feedback, showing me it wasn't about the sale - it was about feeling the BEST about my choice. They provided me with information prior to the appointment on what to expect, a detailed questionnaire (including my music preferences), champagne and lots of personal time and attention during my appointment. We even chatted about venues, photography and other wedding details based on their personal weddings and experiences, which I found rather helpful. I went to both the LA and SF locations - each having its own unique vibe and aesthetic. The stores are carefully curated and designed with an immense attention to detail and chic style. If you're a bride looking for a non-traditional gown, editorial pieces, after party outfits, modern/simple gowns or boho/lace/whimsical styles - this place is for you. A wide variety of styles and designers that you really CAN'T find anywhere else. I found it helpful to follow their Instagram for secret trunk shows and sales too. Pricing is absolutely fair and reasonable (I was actually surprised by affordability on some stunning pieces) and the biggest challenge was narrowing down a final look. Let me start off by saying that Diana, my fitting attendant, was truly the best. I did find an incredible dress that I am so excited to wear on my wedding day. The entire staff at Loho was incredibly kind and have been lovely to work with. I am a plus size woman, size 16/18, and have had a super difficult time with fittings at multiple places in the bay area where I live. For anyone reading this who is also plus size I'm sure you can commiserate. I felt 100% comfortable with Diana being in the fitting room and helping me into gowns even though most of them were too small, which is much more than I can say for anywhere else I tried on gowns. The store is gorgeous and everything you can imagine when wanting to try on wedding dresses. I design and make engagement rings for a living and after years of referring my bridal clients to Loho I knew exactly who I wanted to go for my dress. They were the first place I looked, and I was so amazed and beyond excited at the array of quality designers they carried. I decided to email and ask a few questions about all the designers I was coveting and the reply shared the hard truth I would find at every bridal salon that I emailed in my search for a dress - most of the designers I liked either didn't make dresses in my size and/or didn't offer a sample that I would be able to try on - the vast majority of samples were a size 8 or below. Loho sent a google doc with photos and pricing of the dresses they had samples of in a size 12-16 (Not sure if a 12 is considered plus size anymore but I'll take what I can get), which wasn't as fun as perusing their beautiful website, but was helpful. There were about 20 MTO dresses on the doc from a handful of designers, I was able to choose a handful from that selection to try on. My selection of gowns to try on would have been completely different if I was going strictly off the website and wasnt limited to these options. I went with the gorgeous Lirio Gown from Cortana as my final choice, which for any plus size people wanting to try some gowns on at loho, I highly encourage trying on Cortana, they were all super comfortable and catered to my curves beautifully. TBH the Vivienne Westwood (RIP) I tried on that was a few sizes too small I probably would have gone with instead if the sample had been closer to my size. I really loved it but it's so hard to see how something will fit when its 4 sizes smaller than your body. However, since the Cortana fit and felt comfortable off the rack, which was honestly the first dress to truly fit out of the 25+ dresses I had tried at 5 different bridal salons over the course of 5 months, It felt like a breath of fresh air to just be able to fit into something beautiful without having to contort my body with a ton of clamps and panels to try and get an idea, and I decided to go for it. Super stoked on my dress, but I did take off one star and felt the need to explain this all because I know I am definitely not the only plus size person out there scouring the internet for gowns to try on that are chic, quality, modern, and everything that anyone with a good aesthetic sense would like for their wedding day. Across the board the bridal industry seems to be a pretty behind on size inclusivity, and while I appreciate there were some gowns to try and squeeze myself into, it is really frustrating to have such a limited selection for my body. Straight sized women are catered to first and foremost, and even if something could be made to order in my size it's really difficult to justify buying a dress that cant be returned that I am not able to physically try on first. It's a big purchase. If you've made it this far you can surmise there is a huge gap in the market! I sincerely hope it gets filled. I am not one to leave a negative yelp review (and to reiterate my experience at Loho was the best I had out of 5 salons I tried and everyone I communicated with was lovely), but I do hope that this review will be helpful for people with bodies larger than a size 12 and hopefully spur some more options and understanding toward plus size people. I came here with my bridesmaids and Mom on Saturday. Make sure you book your appointment way ahead of time because the appointments fill up quickly! There is metered parking out front. Christy the owner was so sweet and helpful. She let me drop off gift bags for my girls the day before our appointment so it would be a surprise and I could ask them to be in my wedding at my appointment. She was very attentive, poured us champagne and put on our favorite music station all while trying to wrap up her own wedding that was happening in 2 weeks! I didn't end up getting my dress here because most of the ones I wanted were above my price range. Most of the dresses here are at least $3500 so be aware when making your appointment so you aren't disappointed if you love a dress but it's too expensive. She sent me an email with photos and prices after which was very helpful. I cannot speak highly enough of this bridal boutique! I wasn't going to go anywhere else and I should not have. However, visiting other places first only solidified how special this experience was. The women who work here are incredibly kind, they made me feel like 1 in a million, truly. There's a thorough questionnaire to fill out at the time you book your appointment and believe it or not Emily (heart emoji) had actually picked out my dream gown before I ever arrived. I was actually dead set on wearing Levi's and a white blouse, but to appease my mother we went out and did the whole thing. She promised me that if I did not find something I loved she wouldn't press me, and of course I did. Nothing anywhere else CAME CLOSE to the unique and beautiful gowns that you will find at LOHO. They are also remarkably well-priced for the high-fashion look you will sporting. I don't know how many people told me I looked straight out of vogue, or like a vogue cupcake LOL. 4 months later I am still getting compliments on the gown from people I hardly know. ALSO, I came in about 6-8 weeks from my wedding day, and they were careful not to promise that any designer could rush the work in that time, but after checking in with my top choice designers they were able to pull it off! I accompanied my daughter when she tried on wedding dresses at LOHO Bride. We were so very fortunate to have Julia Brekka assist us. Julia has an extensive knowledge of all dresses that my daughter tried on, to include fabric type, optional trains, and veils that best complimented various dresses. We visited three bridal shops in LA, and Julia far surpassed all other stylists from the competing boutiques; her knowledge of LOHO's products, dress types that best compliment body types, and her personality made our experience very special. LOHO Bride: Not only does the acronym "League of Her Own" wholly capture the idiosyncratic aesthetic of the shop, it also depicts Christy's (the owner) incomparable approach to helping her brides. After spending time going from shop to shop and becoming increasingly disappointed with the cookie-cutter samples I was trying on, I was referred by a friend to LOHO bride and was instantly amazed. Christy customizes your fitting appointment to your tastes and preferences, and upon walking into the stunning salon, I was greeted with my favorite music on the stereo and a glass of champagne. Now--for the dresses. The selection was carefully curated, and after weeks of searching, I chose my dress all in about 15 minutes. Christy seemed to understand my taste and preferences, and she was able to help me choose a dress that is beautiful, unique, and...well...very "me." The purchasing and ordering process was a breeze. And while my dress took longer to ship than expected, Christy sent me reassuring e-mails to me frequently to ease my bridal neuroticism. AND, when it arrived, she bounced over to an unaffiliated seamstress to consult on my alterations. She is the ultimate gem. I was never the girl who knew exactly what my wedding would look like, let alone my dress. I never imagined myself in a gown, whether it would be white, ivory, cream, or some other color. Whether it would be silk or lace. I honestly had no idea and had even less of an idea of where I'd look to even begin to find this non-vision I had for a wedding dress. When my sister suggested I check out LOHO, the first place I went to was their IG. I also did some research on Christy - I am a very brand loyal consumer, shopping from a pretty curated list of retailers and brands, and sticking to that. I felt an instant connection to LOHO after reading about how Christy got her start, why she started LOHO in the first place, and how she selected her brands. I then started researching those brands they carried and felt really drawn to one specific designer so it felt serendipitous that there just so happened to be a trunk show coming up for that designer. Although it was early in my engagement and with little in mind for what I wanted my dress to look like, I took one of the last available appointments for that trunk show. Fast forward to THREE scheduled sessions later, I was feeling convinced that I just wasn't a "wedding gown kind of girl". I wasn't upset about it at all. And thennnnn Christy - who I bonded with during my first fitting both through common friends and common loves of minimal style - brought in a sample that wasn't yet in store but would be shot for their look book. As soon as I put it on I knew. As soon as I saw the look on my mom and sister's faces, I knew. It was a Costarellos gown. We called it "The Kate Moss Dress". What a magical moment for someone who legitimately thought this whole wedding dress thing just wasn't going to be for me. The dress felt like it was made for me and if not for Christy's intuition, I would never have found it. I truly feel like Christy and the LOHO team set the tune for what was the most epic and magical year of my life. My experience at LOHO was absolutely wonderful. I have struggled with the whole wedding dress buying process; it feels overly commercialized, salespeople have been overly pushy, and so many stores have left me feeling overwhelmed. Walking into LOHO felt like I was in someone's backhouse. I absolutely loved how curated their selection was and how there was attention paid to who and where the dresses are made. You are, after all, purchasing probably the most expensive dress of your life and a piece of art and LOHO treated the dresses that way, as art. I worked with Kennedy and Macye. They were organized, never pushy, and it felt like I was shopping with friends. They were patient with me and when I asked to come back and try on the dress with my future mother-in-law, they quickly made time for me as the last appointment in the day and were super patient and loving. As someone who had felt disheartened by the commercialization of weddings and especially wedding dresses, I can't say enough good things about LOHO. read more

This bridal salon is what heaven looks like! It's clean, minimal, and is full with stunning dresses for the brides that want to look unique, stylish, and tasteful on their wedding day. Their sampling is so well-curated, there isn't a single dress in the salon that isn't gorgeous. The staff here is SO helpful and nice, and are not the least but pushy or "sales-person-y". The owner, Christy, is wonderful and answered the numerous questions I had for her via email before my fitting. I have been to 5+ bridal salons, and Loho Bride was by far my best experience. They have you fill out a questionnaire before arriving, so they can tailor the experience to your personal preferences and tastes. I ended up finding my dream dress that is unique and stunning.
