Had a very disappointing experience tonight. We picked Lola's because it looked like a decent menu and we liked the vibe looking over the water. We ordered drinks, felt duped after ordering a "medium" Moscow Mule that turned out to be about 40 oz. with an undetectable amount of any alcohol. When we told our waitress we couldn't taste alcohol she took the drink away to "fix it", but the second drink tasted the same, like watery ginger beer, oh by the way for $30. After our drink orders were placed, the waitress returned to the table to tell us that over half of the food menu was not available because they were redoing the menu. We wish we had that information before ordering drinks. We then ordered dinner: croquettas and churrosco to split. We were told the croquettas were 6 pieces for $16, then as the waitress delivered us only 3 croquettas, she said "I'm sorry I forgot it was only three". The churrasco looked like a fraction of the picture in the menu, but tasted fine. After finishing our food, we were ready to leave and asked for the check. The waitress brought the check and we were charged $57 for the churrasco that was listed on the menu at $46. When we raised this issue, she said the menu had changed and $57 was the new fee. After complaining and the price was adjusted to reflect the menu price of $46, we were told what the check total was without showing us the breakdown of tax and whether gratuity was included (as it has been in many Miami restaurants). We asked if gratuity was included and the waitress said "18% but that's split amongst everyone and it doesn't go to me." We didn't tip any more than 18% and were told that we "weren't tipping." The waitress started to criticize us for taking issue with the cost of the churrasco, and told us to not get mad at her. We simply told her, we're not mad at you, we're frustrated that basically every item we ordered was delivered to us as much less than we were led to expect. The waitress then insulted us twice for not tipping her more. This experience violated standards of service at every turn, and is one of the worst dining experiences we've had in many, many years. Save your money, do not eat here. Stay away from this place....we felt completely gaslit and preyed upon. read more

Located in the bayside market place, this little bar front was decorated beautifully for the holiday season. The music was good and was an attraction to pull you off the path to stop in for a drink. The drinks were cute and nicely themed, but they were mostly sugar bombs rather than anything carefully crafted. Mostly Spanish speaking, so there will be some struggles with ordering if you dont take the time to figure things out. Had the best time at Lola's on Christmas Day! Our server was so helpful and friendly and the drinks and our meals arrived quickly. We ordered the chicken tacos, beef tacos, meatballs and Caesar salad w/ chicken. The food was delicious - so good we forgot to take pics - we started to dig in as soon as it arrived at our table. Since it was Christmas we also opted to try their delicious cocktails and went with the sugar daddy and the large mojito - which was huge!! This is the absolute worst bar I've ever been to. I retired from writing reviews, but this experience has reawakened my need to report my findings. Not only were the drinks disgusting, but the service was one for the books. A couple coworkers and I were in Miami for business and decided to have some cocktails here. I blame our bad experience on our waitress, Meli. Although it's written on the menu there's a 18% service charge for all purchases, it's common courtesy to inform the patrons of such when selecting the tip amount. Every other restaurant/bar I've been to has done so, but this one. We were courteous enough to buy her two shots, but she couldn't let us know about the service charge or drop one of the untouched cocktails from the bill. Lola Bar is a fun place to hang out and drink with your friends, which is exactly what I did. We ordered a few Patron Towers, Fish Bowls, Beer Buckets, and Hookah. The alcohol content in the drinks was strong, which is a plus for me since a lot of bars are known for watering down their drinks. I loved the Patron Tower because each one was a different flavor and was so good! The bar is also so beautifully decorated and I thought the little Clase Azul vases were super cute! The only things that took away from my experience was the price and the noise level. I understand that bars are normally loud but the music was so loud that it was difficult to hear the person talking across from me (and we were sitting outside too, hoping that the volume would be a little lower). Strongly advise people not to come here due to their bad business practices, of which they'll continue: I ended up paying double for the tip and non-disclosure at the time that there was already a 18% service charge added to all bills. After checking the other low rating reviews for this business, it's something they rely on regularly. Original agument of course is, "it's your fault for not seeing that on the receipt," though since this isn't a standard practice where I live (a.k.a. not Miami), it's not something I instinctly would look out for (service charges are rarely pre-added unless for a big party). Plus it's a bar, they're relaying on people being inebriated enough not to realize it. Then there's reviews saying the little machine they hand you to pay just shows a total amount, not itemized, which was my experience now that I reflect on it. They're purposely skipping to the next screen where all you add is the tip. If you try to dispute, your credit card will just take their word for it because they have a signed receipt afterwards. And ignore the bad business practices. Lesson learned to never hand your card over, or sign anything without an itemized receipt, especially in tourist spots. Which is something I do religiously, though the one time I gave an establishment the benefit of the doubt got burned. Won't be back when I revisit Miami + will encourage local friends not to go to this establishment. Not that Lola cares, because their overall strategy is fooling tourists. read more

Not sure why Lola is classified as a wine bar or food truck on here as it's a full bar... My friend and I were walking by Bayside looking for a place to chill for a bit and grab a drink, and the neon signs and pretty colors at Lola caught our eye. It happened to be happy hour, which is 3-6 pm, so we took advantage of the 2 for 1 margarita hh deal. They also have some hh food deals for pizza, wings, etc., but we were mainly here for the margarita. I think normally the prices here are on the pricy side, but paying $14 for two delicious margaritas was a pretty good deal for me! They have seating at the bar as well as along the water, so after we got our drinks from the bar, we brought our margs to a table outside and enjoyed the nice weather while chatting. read more
