Stop by to try this place today because I walked by all the time and the menu is very attractive. Location is OK in typical vibe for the outdoor eating on the street. The overlap at 2 PM between two drinks for the price of one and the brunch menu was very attractive. So why not? I'd read the reviews of others before coming here and people seem to love it or hate it. Unfortunately, I'm on Team Meh. Quick summary would be below average food cooked poorly at extremely high prices. Two light meals, and one round of two for one drinks for $80 come with high expectations. If I had come with low expectations, they would not even have achieved that. To put it into context, I asked the waiter what he would recommend from the brunch menu and he said the burgers were excellent. I looked at the menu and it said 8 ounce burgers with a variety of different toppings. I ordered the Gorgonzola burger. I expected a big juicy burger, considering this is a steakhouse, with nice fresh toppings. The toppings I got were good but not exciting and the blue cheese they used did not have the familiar taste of Gorgonzola. The burger was a flat patty, which clearly didn't even weigh a quarter of a pound, which was overcooked like a hockey puck and had the flavor of a fast food burger. Not even a good fast food burger. toppings were pretty good ut lacked balance and unfortunately did nothing to mask the awful taste of the meat. And even with the bacon (did not see or taste any), onions (overcooked), blue cheese and barbecue sauce, there was not enough food to satisfy my appetite and I am leaving hungry. We ordered two drinks and the drinks weren't bad. They were generous pours and were tasty and well worth the two for one price and actually a bargain for Miami Beach. So if I can leave with one good recommendation for those who want to, stop by for drinks when it's two for one. I'm sure you would be satisfied. My wife had the chicken and waffles. I didn't taste them, but the waffles look like eggos but smaller. She said they tasted good and then said.middling. At over $20 she should be saying they were great. All in all if they can't get a small meal like this right, I'm not coming here for $150 steak. There are a lot of restaurants on the Lincoln Road mall, including another churrascaria. I personally would not waste my time or money on this one. Sidenote: the waiter Camilo was excellent. He took great care of us and even brought water for our dog.

On top of that, when the bill is presented, the waitress asks for an additional tip, saying she receives little or almost nothing from the included gratuity, which is extremely uncomfortable. Another very important point: they add around $10 if you pay with any method other than cash, and they do not inform you about this at all. Check the prices carefully before swiping your card. In summary, my bill, including the 20% tip, should not have been more than $100, but it ended up being $155 -- completely absurd. 2. We waited 45 minutes for the food to arrive at our table. 3. The portions are small, but I must admit the food is very tasty and flavorful. We had octopus and lobster, and both were excellent. The overall experience was compromised by the lack of honesty and transparency in trying to pile fee upon fee. The thing I am most disappointed about? Not having enough room in my stomach to finish my meal at El Carnival! For my meal, I ordered the Pao de Queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread) and the Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp. Both were so savory and had me hooked! You already know, Brazilian cheese breads are out-of-this-world addicting. You mix cheese AND bread? You've just made 90% of the American population happy. I would suggest if you can, always sit outside (if you can endure the humidity). The views of Española Way and the french bistro dining sets at El Carnival outside make your dining experience that much more magical.

**DO NOT EAT HERE** not only was the drinks poured light and the food cold- late- unflavored and over all poor quality (and overly priced) but when we complained to the manager he gave us unbelievable attitude- and said "I'll see what we can do (mind yourself we ate maybe 25% of food because it was that bad) and he then proceeded to sit down at another table with his friends for 30 minutes and did nothing. We waited so long we had to call over our waitress, not only was there no discount but we were overcharged for an item as well. We waited over an hour since complaining, HUNGRY, only to receive 20% off the bill. We never even received an apology. There were multiple other tables that complained/ got up and just left due to poor service and complaints of bad tasting dishes. Will never return.

Amazing drinks! Service is and the food is really good! Come and try the steak! So good ill be back next week

I would give a 0 star if I could!!!! Completely TASTELESS food, and inattentive service!!On top of the 18% undeserving tip, there is also a charge for paying with a credit card!!! The only good stuff was the hostess' vibe and the caipirinha! BRASILEIROS - saiam correndo! As Coxinhas tem só uma amostra grátis de frango! This is a tourist trap for sure. First of all, service was mid asf. They had an autogratuity of 18% for a party of 2 people. Let us also note how when we asked for the check, mind you, it was not busy (lol), it took several reminders from us. When we finally got the check, she instantly showed us the additional tip screen. It's insane that this place is rated so high. The food was very much average - not terrible but definitely not amazing. Presentation was okay but very much overrated and overpriced... the picanha and the salmon were ~ 30 each. I'm a small individual and yet the steak was not even enough to fill me up. If you are in a dire need for food and are okay with waiting a decent bit of time with virtually no service, feel free to stop by here. However, if you are truly looking for a nice place to dine and feel like you're getting your money's worth in at the very minimum, taste,... do not stop by here :) read more

OK - for the price, jeeeez. Carnival burgers were clearly mediocre frozen patties, not house ground as promised. Chicken and waffles for 21 bucks - 2 tenders, 1 PANCAKE. Ugh. Lobster mac and cheese was good. Not worth return. read more

Great service all around, from being seated to being celebrated due to a birthday! The hosts were knowledgeable of their food and the waitress was so patient with our large group. When bringing out our birthday cheesecake the owner came out as well to sign happy birthday! 10/10 would definitely recommend! drinks seem to be made by the waitress which is extremely strange. Took really long to even get some water on the table. Old Fashion was made completely wrong. We questioned the hygiene of the place. Appetizers were not good so we didn't even order an entre. Don't come here read more

This place is awful! We Ordered cocktail shrimp, chicken and waffles, and a Caesar salad. The salad needed more dressing. The shrimp was mediocre. And the chicken and waffles were horrible. It was chicken strips and what looked like eggo waffles with a little syrup. The service was ok, but when I needed anything I had to find the waitstaff. Tried to pay with cash, no change. read more

We are locals and heard about this place opening recently. We are always looking for a local place to go to and feel welcome. We were walking by and met Raphael who was very kind. He invited us to stop by later that evening. We tried it and loved it. Bruna was our server and she was lovely. She made us feel welcome and recommended delicious dishes and drinks. Our food came quickly and exactly as we ordered. They also had live music which added to the experience. We will be back soon! read more

We were walking on Española way and we find this place, the atmosphere and food were absolutely delicious. I Had a grill octopus and my husband a picanha with some yucca fries, really good both! The tikki drink were fantastic,our server on top of everything and the music fantastic. Really good vibe and great friendly people! I loved it ! We'll be back soon !!! read more

Had dinner on Saturday night.... The Calamari app was decent (not great) then ordered the chicken fajitas (vey plain... ) no toppings, sour cream, etc. available!? Why would your serve a dish if you don't have the basic toppings typically accompanying them? It was just OK. My husband and I LOVED El Carnival and would come back literally just to have the Fettuccini Alfredo. It had so much flavor and the chicken was extremely moist. My husband had the steak skewer which had such a cool presentation. We weren't expecting much for the simple side of veggies we ordered, but again so much flavor and delicious! read more

So came here for dessert and waited 30 mins to be told that they didn't have it then the manager eventually comped the two glasses of wine after we spoke to her BECAUSE we had to wait. She was only willing to comp one the first time around but after speaking to her, she apologized & comped both. Over an hour and still no dinner! I went and paid for our beverages. Waitress was kind and called Manager over as I was trying to pay. He verified over and hour since our order was put in. He offered me 30% off our meal if we stayed and waited. I told him No Thanks, I'm pretty frustrated right now. He walked off like no big deal! TREATS EMPLOYEES LIKE ANIMALS Our server taking care off all the tables while the restaurant was full and the hostess and 3 other servers and the front of house manager just sat around. Our server provided excellent service to her ability and always kept a smile on her face while dealing with these challenges. Supervisor or manager didn't hesitate to take the time to apologize to the tables for the 2+ hour delay in food. Coming from the food and beverage industry, this is horrible to just have one person man the front of the house whil le 3 other servers sit around. come to find out all she does not receive her 100% earned tips and has to share it with the rest of the useless staff. read more

We had a fabulous time! The food was fantastic and the drinks were excellent. The best part was Julian the bartender who made delicious drinks and Shawn was extremely kind and lovely. We recently dined at El Carnival and walked away seriously underwhelmed--and significantly lighter in the wallet. The atmosphere was unimpressive at best. We chose to sit outside, only to be blasted by loud, poorly positioned speakers that made conversation nearly impossible. Despite the steep prices, we decided to go ahead with ordering since the menu looked promising. Unfortunately, the food fell flat. The appetizers and mains were largely tasteless. The fish was overwhelmingly "fishy," and the steak--ordered medium rare--was served tough and overcooked. After sending it back, it came out slightly better but still difficult to chew. The rest of the dishes were equally forgettable. The only highlight? The kids enjoyed their spaghetti and meatballs. To their credit, the waiter did correct an order mix-up quickly, but the service overall couldn't make up for the poor food and inflated prices. For a family of four, we spent $190 without ordering anything extravagant. On top of that, they tacked on a resort fee (this place is not in a resort) and an automatic 20% tip--then had the nerve to ask for additional gratuity, explaining that the built-in tip was shared among staff. That should be their internal business, not the customer's concern. With bland food, high prices, and questionable billing practices, I honestly don't know how El Carnival stays open. There are far better dining options out there--skip this one. read more

Inside although small is spacious enough for numerous tables and even a nother section possible for private events or bigger parties. The menu is huge and has all the traditional foods. On this day we started with the cancha and spicy green sauce. We gobbled them up and apprciated the perfect saltiness and added spice of the sauce. Our main dishes were the traditional saltado. It's also worth noting that the host's political expression was very apparent, which I found particularly interesting given that she was the first person guests encounter. Whatever someone's political beliefs may be, I believe that anyone working in a customer-facing role should make every guest feel welcomed and respected. Overall, the food was good, Chris was wonderful, and the space itself was nice. But hospitality is about more than food and decor; it is also about how people feel when they walk through the door. I hope the owners take that part of the guest experience seriously, because no restaurant benefits when customers leave feeling unwelcome.
