Got a large glass of water and a Bloody Mary and finally started to cool off. Ordered the tuna sashimi app and we Both got the lobster roll with fries. Both were excellent, roll was full of lobster and very tasty Service was excellent, kept my water full as I was sucking it down like a camel. Bloody Mary was delicious, had all type of accoutrements on it. I'm very picky with my Bloody Mary and this was a solid drink Interior is very cool, fish tanks all around and dark wood. My son insisted that he was SOOOOOOO hungry he NEEDED a big lunch at Lombards. I was not amused. However my disdain quickly changed after being greeted by our amazing server. Our table was by the window and the restaurant was well air conditioned giving us a nice break. Meal: we "split" the tuna app. To my 18 year old that's 70/30. It was great. He ordered chicken fettuccine (at a seafood restaurant) which he enjoyed. I had the salmon. Although it was served with the skin on, it easily pealed away (I hate salmon skin served with the entre). I think the crown jewel was my $20 candied bacon Bloody Mary. I really thought hard about getting a second. We finished with a HUGE slice of chocolate cake. $150 damage. These ratings have already taken into account that these restaurants are "park food" quality From best to least best: * tuna crudo - I would get this again. Tuna was "meets expectation fresh." Decent sauce and nice crispy nori. Generous in portion. Enjoyable. * Lobster roll - decent. Nothing spectacular about the lobster but it wasn't overcooked and still enjoyable. The bun was a bit stale * ravioli butternut squash - decent. The pasta was thicker than normal but I hardly noticed. The inside butternut squash was yummy but there was some really jarring onion sautéed balsamic pieces that were so sour and off putting. If you scrape that off it'll be good. The butternut squash flavor was unassuming and didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth but wasn't memorable either. The added protein was served bland on the side but it was not overcooked so a few points were added there. * oyster Rockefeller - the worst thing in the menu. Mushy, creamy, no crisp, no char, had a bad oyster fishy aftertaste. Kinda hard to eat to be honest. Would not get again. Ambiance: comfy upscale restaurant with padded chairs, carpet, and pier/water view. There was a beautiful flower and aquarium decor inside as well. Service was friendly and chill. Delicious, 4 of us had dinner here on the 31st of December and it was delicious! We had for appetizers the fried calamari and the tuna crudo. They were both very delicious! Calamari was tender with a crunchy well seasoned crust. The Crudo was fresh and tasty! The nori deep fried with a tempura batter on it was a gunny addition to the dish. We shared a Caesar salad which was very yummy! The romaine was fresh and crispy and the dressing was very tasty and plentiful! My son had the French onion soup and loved it! Rich beefy broth loaded with caramelized onions topped with a cheesy croutons. So yummy! I had a bacon cheese burger since I was not in the mood for fish. It was juicy and flavorful. Daughter had the miso fish and she absolutely loved it! Fresh tender juicy fish covered by the sweet miso glaze. My wife had the salmon, she loved it. Grilled salmon sitting on a sauce. My son had the bang bang shrimp. Fried shrimp on top of rice and veggies. He loved it! As a side note, if you order a fish dish, please order a side dish as well. We stopped into this restaurant on a busy day at Universal. There was no wait and we got in right away, even on a busy Saturday at the park. The decor gives fancy fish house vibes and has a pretty fish tank in the middle. You can sit inside or choose to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view. The food was good, the lobster bisque could have used more meat, but was super flavorful and creamy. The burger was the star, a good size burger cooked to how we liked it. The food was not great. My food was salty and not well cooked. My pork belly was so salty it was hard to eat. Another member of my group had the same meal and for some reason they had radishes and I had cucumbers; why couldn't it have been the same? One could clearly tell that the ingredients were not treated well. Somebody else in my group had mussels and they tasted watery so I'm thinking they were frozen. It's expensive to boot! We ate at Lombard's last night prior to HHN. Since we'd just come from Maine where we ate lobster rolls on the coast 3 4 days ago, we decided to do a head to head comparison with the Lombard's version. This Orlando entree was much tastier than its Maine competitor. The northern version cost $26, while Universal's was $35. But the overhead at Lombard's is higher than the fish shack in Maine. The Florida portion size may be a tad smaller, but the flavor was so much more intense and better! Lombard's uses Dijon mayo, citrus, and dill which all bring out the flavor of the lobster. The coleslaw was better in Orlando, and the homemade kettle chips were as satisfying as their fries competitor. All in all, Lombard's knocks it out of the park with their lobster roll. read more

We were able to walk in without a reservation on a Wednesday around 11:30am, but they also take reservations if you prefer to make one in advance. It's a nice formal dining place in Universal. Our server was so nice and attentive. I had the mussels from the appetizers list and the lobster Mac and cheese from the side dishes. I prob could have gotten just the Mac and cheese! It was kinda big for a side dish! It was delicious and had a nice amount of lobster in it. The mussels were plump and good quality and came with some bread. It was nice to be able to sit down after walking for a few hours at a place with a nice atmosphere and air conditioning. At the table, we had an order of bang bang shrimp and a lobster roll. We had the bad fortune that one of our family had a medical issue when we first arrived to the restaurant and had to be seen by medical and eventually medevac'd by Ambulance to a local Hospital. His issue was unrelated to the restaurant as we had only just arrived but the staff was extremely professional and for that I am grateful. The rest of the large party stayed and ate and the food was great. Definitely recommend Lombard's over some of the other options in the park. Very good food and great service. When we walked in we didn't have a reservation however they were able to still sit us. We had to go upstairs and check in with another hostess, which was different. We sat outdoor since the weather was nice. It does get very windy and stuff will below away if you don't secure it. Our server Siobhan was nice although we didn't see her often as she was very busy with many tables all at once; it's spring break time! The calamari was good quality and the white sauce with it was flavorful. The lobster Mac and cheese was average; The lobster was good quality but they didn't put enough it in for my liking. Also the Mac and cheese could have been cooked a little longer. Restaurant overall is nice to experience especially if you get outside seating. The decor inside the restaurant is beautiful, so many ponds, fountains and fish tanks, it's like you're actually onboard a ship. Our waitress was very friendly. I had the lobster roll sandwich - absolutely phenomenal - very delicious and a lot of flavor. I also tried the edamame appetizer which is a really big portion and tasty as well. Additionally, when I was standing in line to check in, the check-in people just ignored me and let other people cut the line. That ruined the whole experience in the first place. read more

The decor reminded me of a favorite restaurant of mine-Commanders Palace in New Orleans. Our server was excellent. He was kind, effective, quick and didn't miss a thing. Food wise it was the best meal on Universal property in 3 days. I loved the shrimp bayou, my sons enjoyed the fisherman's basket and their burger was one of the best I've tasted in a very long time. Artichoke dip was solid. The only miss was my wife's lobster bisque. She didn't care for it and I tried it. The heavier tomato base is one thing and subject to individual preferences but the absolute "fishy" taste of the lobster bisque was not acceptable. That being said everything else was so superior that it warrants a full 5 star review. Not perfect but as close as one can hope for at any theme park. read more

I haven't been in 9+ years apparently! Finally back. How does it stack up? First, it's great to have a quiet, air conditioned, and sit down meal at the park. That alone makes this place worth it. Service is top notch as well. I got the New England clam chowder to start. Plenty of clams and potatoes in a creamy broth. It wasn't smokey or bacon-y which may or may not be a good thing. But it was a solid cup of chowder. My meal was the Fisherman's Basket with fried cod, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. Plus a side of slaw, fries, tartar and cocktail sauce. From best to worst. They get their cod in fresh, not frozen. Wow, it's so buttery. Perfect light fry on it. Delicious with some cocktail sauce. They really should have fish and chips on the menu. Next were 2 jumbo shrimp. Should have been 3 but they were great. Perfectly cooked. Great with the cocktail sauce. I don't really like calamari but theirs was soft and clean. Very nice indeed. Next was the slaw. I think it had some broccoli in it, was a bit tangy, and a nice contrast to the fried food. The cocktail sauce had just a bit of horseradish in it. It was nice but I wish it were more potent. The tartar was creamy and fine for dipping. The fries were fries but with some malt vinegar and cocktail sauce they were good. The scallops terrible. They were microscopic bay scallops the size of a pencil eraser. Seriously, if they aren't going to give 2 jumbo scallops, there's no point in having them on the plate. Overall I really enjoyed the meal. Mostly highs but the terrible scallops and ok sauces kept this from being a 5/5 for a theme park meal. read more

The Salmon was cooked well, but it missed a carb. I wish they added some mashed potatoes on side which might have added some more texture to the dish. Cioppino was a bit tomatoey for my preference. I'm not certain why this restaurant doesn't get better ratings but we had a delicious lunch at Lombard's Landing. We were pretty tired and it was nice to be able to relax in comfy chairs and overlook the water. The atmosphere could use a little updating and the decor is more like an old-style steakhouse. Service was excellent and professional. My French fries came out barely warm and our server gladly brought out some fresh hot fries immediately. Except for the situation with the fries our food was delicious! I started off with a nice cold Sam Adams, Blue Moon on draft (20 ounce). So good and refreshing!!! I ordered the Monterey Garlic Shrimp (Gulf shrimp, pan roasted garlic, herbed butter, fresh lemon, chili peppers, rosemary focaccia) as an appetizer. Our server asked if I wanted it spicy and I said yes!! The shrimp was delicious. It's a very similar dish to an appetizer my local Mexican restaurant serves called camarones al ajillo. The only difference it didn't have cilantro in it. Soaking up that garlic oil on the bread was wonderful! Plus it had tender slices of roasted garlic to put on the bread. My friend had the calamari in house made marinara sauce. She enjoyed it and said the calamari was very tender and the sauce was delicious. For our main entree we shared the Fisherman's Basket (wild Alaskan cod, shrimp, calamari and bay scallops lightly fried in a seasoned batter, served with French fries, creamy tartar sauce and cocktail sauce). We enjoyed all the seafood in the basket. It's too large for one person in my opinion. My friend got the Caesar salad which was refreshing and crisp with slices of fresh parmesan cheese. No complaints about anything with Lombard's except for the fries which was rectified. BTW, they weren't coated which I appreciate. Lombard's was the absolute low point of an otherwise terrific New Years visit to Universal Orlando. Our party of 7 had a 6:30 dinner reservation and showed up on time. A standing room-only crowd was waiting in the large reception area, which was an early bad sign. Shortly after we got there I heard a man complaining that he had a 6:00 reservation and was still waiting to be seated. Eventually the hostesses said that they were running 45 minutes behind reservation times, and that larger parties would take even longer. When my party asked specifically about when we might be seated, the hostesses could not give an estimate. Their only explanation of why they were running so behind was something to the effect that people seated earlier had been taking a long time "enjoying their dinner." This explanation was not believable, and even if true it would still be a terrible excuse. A single table or two of people taking longer than usual to finish their dinner would not cause an entire large restaurant to slow down. And in any event, it is perfectly acceptable for wait staff to gently nudge along diners who are camping out too long at a table, especially at a busy family restaurant. At about 7:15 we gave up and left Lombards - we had no intention of spending our New Years night waiting in vain to be seated. We had a perfectly adequate dinner at the Minions Café, which despite being essentially a fast food place actually seemed interested in making its diners happy. From what we saw, Lombard's management is either too incompetent to manage a busy evening, or - even more troubling - knows exactly what they are doing and deliberately overbooked to make the holiday as lucrative as possible. And if it throws off the plans of many of the families who chose to come there on New Years, so be it if they can squeeze in a few more tables of suckers. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience. We had a confirmed 8:00 PM reservation for 10 people, and Lombard's Steakhouse was completely unable to seat us -- not late, not after a wait -- not at all. When we arrived, there was no host present, no clear process, and no one taking responsibility. Staff were unhelpful and dismissive when we asked about being seated indoors, offering no solutions or meaningful communication. A restaurant that takes large reservations should be prepared to honor them or at least manage the situation professionally. This place did neither. We planned our evening around this reservation and were left scrambling because of their complete lack of organization. For a seafood spot that presents itself as upscale, this level of service is embarrassing. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you expect your reservation to actually mean something. read more

We had Ceasar Salad and the blackened mahi-mahi and the blackened swordfish. The piña colada was weak on the rum. The Mr Pipp was also not great. We did the dine and ride package which includes an app, entree and dessert. Since we are in wahoo season I ordered that grilled which is $34. My husband ordered the Filet which is 6 oz. The frisée lemonade isn't too tart nor sweet. The ice is very soft which is great. The wahoo was in a 3 inch thick chunk. It was grilled with no seasoning. IMO it was a tad over cooked. The puréed veggies were without seasoning as well. Very bland like baby food . The black rice was crunchy and soft T the same time. I think this place is over priced for the dining expense. We tried the lobster bisque soup which tasted extremely salty; more like a tub of old bay seasoning was thrown in and made the soup brown instead of the color it should be, light pink. My family and I were really looking forward to a good meal as we were going through universal and this restaurant was disappointing to say the least. We spent $55 for their dozen oysters and they were hands down the worst we've ever had. My husband even got sick after eating them. Absolutely terrible. We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and it was dry lobster that was cooked with somewhat stale noodles and no cheese at all. Also the worst we've ever had.
