Our family was looking forward to Bourbon Steak after dining at Shula's for the past decade. The new interior was bright and a nice change from before. Overall, it was nice experience except my steak was prepared a bit more cooked than I liked (I asked for medium rare +) and it definitely arrived more like medium +. We booked Bourbon Steak two months in advance for our 19th wedding anniversary and spent hours researching Orlando steakhouses before choosing it. This was supposed to be one of the highlights of our trip. The day before our reservation, OpenTable texted asking us to confirm our 6:00 PM reservation. I replied "1" and immediately received a response: **"Thanks! You're confirmed. See you soon."** The next evening, dressed up and excited for our anniversary dinner, we arrived at 6:00 PM only to be greeted with, essentially, "Nope, we're closed for a private event." As the attached photos show, Bourbon Steak was closed for a planned corporate event. Yet somehow our reservation remained active. We received no email, no text message, no Disney app notification, and no communication whatsoever that our reservation would not be honored. The explanation given was that they tried calling, but my voicemail was full. While that's true, the restaurant had multiple other ways to contact us, including OpenTable, email, and the Disney reservation system. Instead, OpenTable reconfirmed our reservation less than 24 hours before arrival and Disney still showed it as active minutes before we walked through the door. Private events happen. What should never happen is confirming a reservation, keeping it active across multiple systems, and then turning guests away at the door on a milestone anniversary because the restaurant failed to communicate. The manager offered to move us to another restaurant, but that completely missed the point. We didn't spend months planning an anniversary dinner at Bourbon Steak just to be redirected elsewhere at the last minute. We chose Bourbon Steak specifically. For a restaurant that positions itself as a luxury dining experience, this was a shocking failure in communication, planning, and guest service. We never even got the chance to try the food because the restaurant couldn't manage its reservations properly. One of the most disappointing dining experiences we've ever had, and we never sat down at a table. read more

Was able to get seated rather quickly on a late Friday night. After all day at the park this was perfect. Fries were HOT and great. Their signature old fashioned was perfect. We split the wedge salad. The filet was perfect Pittsburgh style. Salmon was great. Creamed corn on the side was not spicy unless you mix in the jalapeño that comes on top. We split a wedge salad, loaded baked potatoe and dined on filet with bearnaise and delmonico ribeye with blue cheese crust. Both were served with a roasted tomato. We started with oysters and the seafood plate which were fresh and very tasty. The highlight of the mains had to be the lobster pot pie which was brought table side and then plated for you. Generous, large pieces of lobster. It actually could feed more than 1. Fish was very fresh and cooked simply to allow the freshness to come through. This was my first time experiencing a Bourbon Steak. It feels like a typical steakhouse inside but that's probably where most of the crossover ends. Things are spiced, or cooked differently here and even the subtle differences manage to shine through. The fries (three varieties) instead of bread are tremendous, the 22OZ DRY-AGED COWBOY RIBEYE shared at the table was perfect. The WHIPPED POTATOES, ECHIRÉ BUTTER were amazing. Also, the best part about the sides was the SIZE. They were small enough to make sense for the table. Sure, you can take stuff home if you live in the area, but it is also nice to order and eat everything there without feeling regret. They managed to get this part perfect. So, why just good instead of great? It really came down to service. There were two waiters for the table. One might have been great, and the other one was not very helpful at all. Walking into the restaurant, Bourbon Steak, it is very evident that it was one of those places that was on the upper scale of things that places a focus on a very nice dining experience. Not too flashy, but every bit focused on providing very tasty food with traditional elements. Bourbon Steak is conveniently placed at the Dolphin Hotel at the Resort. Sort of tucked away from the main lobby, it is separated just enough to avoid some of the loud acoustics from heavy foot traffic by those entering the hotel or simply moving about. The staff here were very friendly and really went out of their way to ensure your dining experience is a pleasant one. On this occasion, I did not have a reservation, but the staff at the hostess station scoped out the lounge area over the phone and let me know that I could easily find a quiet table to enjoy dinner. Very friendly and did not sense the request was close to a burden. Thank you. After reviewing the menu over a glass of wine, I was presented by something that was a first for me, a platter of differently prepared Fries with different dipping sauces. This was provided in lieu of a bread serving and was both delicious and abundant. It replaced a selection of a starch with my entrée. For dinner, I selected a delicious cut of a NY steak with a Demi sauce. It was lean with a perfect balance of marbling. I opted for a side of grilled Asparagus topped with a Bearnaise sauce. Included was a roasted tomato that was delicious in itself and was an added item that complemented the steak. Every item that I was before me was perfectly prepared and had just the right amount of seasoning to avoid any need for additional salt or pepper. While Bourbon Steak is not a one of a kind steakhouse as there are a few around the country, it is a great, great place to enjoy an elevated dinner whether you are traveling on business or dining in your home town for a special occasion. Bourbon Steak is staple restaurant inside the dolphin hotel. The service was excellent on all levels. The food is amazing and made with good ingredients. I ordered seafood because it was most appealing, but they are known for their steaks and by the look of I I can see why. Leaving a review rather than photos of prepared dishes was either. This was my first time here since it transitioned from Shulas. I loved Shulas but I must say I enjoyed my meal here very much. The steak was cooked exact to my request and cut like butter. He went through the menu pretty quickly with us and highlighting certain dishes the menu. Quick break down of what we ordered- Alaskan King Crab- 4/10 This was so ughhh... What we were hoping for Versus what we were served was extremely disappointing it's all I can say. The taste was fine it was more the amount and size for the prize that it was. We received 1 tiny leg butter fly style. Split down the middle and cut into 3 small pieces. Ceaser Salad- 5/10 It was good. The dressing was different but we liked it. I give it a 5 because it is not your traditional style- the lettuce was buttered lettuce and not romaine. Which lacked that familiar crunch and thickness of it. In my opinion it was okay nothing to write home about. Delmonico Steak 8/10 It was good. Nice cut very juicy, very tender great flavor could have been seared a little bit more but overall it was tasty. It was served with half of stuffed tomato ( kinda weird) the hubs enjoyed this plate. Boiled Seabass- 7/10 The flavor of the fish was good. Soft and tender. It was sitting on a bed ofShishito Peppers in a glaze sauce. I'm not a fan of these peppers at all. I wish the fish would have been served with some other kind of vegetable instead. Mushrooms - 8/10 Paired well with the Steak Jalapeño creamed corn 9-10 This was definitely my favorite thing from everything we ordered. Had a nice little kick to it. Great flavor and texture. I made a reservation for two here on Memorial Day to celebrate a birthday. We came to the bar around 6PM before happy hour ended and before our reservation. The duck fat fries and slider were impressive. We liked the charm of the bartender and decided to stay seated there vs. taking our table. We ordered after we ate most of our happy hour items and decided we were so full from happy hour we only shared bread, steak, and a side. We even had leftovers. Service was ok but for a time the bartender disappeared for a long while. Also, our food took a while to come out and they were not busy at all. They food was good. I really liked it all but I remember the bread having more truffle. Also, last time I got food to go I got a little popcorn desert with my leftovers. We asked our bartender to pack it all up but sadly the duck fat fries were not there and there was around half of them left. Excellent new addition to the Walt Disney World restaurants. It seems very similar to Shula's, but with a few new variations and a new ambiance. Everything we had to eat and drink was delicious, and the service is top-notch. The fry flight is complimentary and has some great flavors. The Everyone Loves my Baby cocktail was a standout for me and would be a must-have on future visits. The steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavors, especially when accompanied with the truffle butter. We tried the Root Beer Float for dessert, which was good and something different, but I'd try other things in the future. This is perfect for a date night, special occasion, or if you're just craving a really good meal. I'd highly recommend and definitely look forward to returning to try other menu items. read more

We went here for my dad's birthday and had a great time!! I loved the ambience of this restaurant, dimly lit, and cozy. Not too loud either considering they were busy. The service is incredible! You have 3 waiters/waitresses taking care of you at once. One for water, the second for clearing the table and resetting before dinner/helping with drink orders, and the third is your main waiter who takes your whole order. Every single one of them was incredibly friendly! Next, the food. It was SO good! We all got different meals and everyone raved about their meal. I started with a crab cake which was all crab basically no filler and it was delicious!! Then I had the salmon and it melted in my mouth, it was cooked perfectly! For a side I did the truffle mac and cheese which was amazing! And finished it off with their specialty cheesecake! This experience really missed the mark. We were seated right next to the serving station where the door was constantly swinging open and shut every minute. It was loud, distracting, and honestly made it hard to enjoy the meal. What was especially disappointing is that this could have easily been avoided. On top of that, my steak came out overcooked, and when we tried to address it, our waiter seemed completely uninterested, got the manager and then basically ignored us the rest of the time. I ate my dinner 30 minutes before my husband ate his. And when they brought out the correct steak but the sides were already cold from the first plate. I have been wanting to try this place since it opened , I never liked Shula's that occupied the space prior , so I was excited to see a new high end steakhouse replace it , the restaurant looks great just like a classic steak house , we started with drinks and the Bourbon steak old fashion was excellent , for Dinner I had the lobster Pot pie , which was on the pricey side , but it was excellent and worth it , I would definitely order it again , my wife ordered the Rib Cap steak , this cut is not seen in many steak houses , but if you have not had it , it's a must , it's the top of the rib eye and it's so full of flavor and super tender, she said it was the best steak she ever had , our server GUI was amazing , very friendly , very knowledgeable and always checking on us , if I could I would give this more then 5 stars , overall just an excellent dinning experience read more

If you loved Shula's Steakhouse at the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort as much as we did and you were sad to see it replaced, I have some good news to share. Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina, which took over the space, is different, yes, but much of what made Shula's so intimate is still there. Yes, the black and white photos of past football glory are gone, replaced with large art pieces. The lighting is a little different, the open sconces updated with sleek, modern lanterns filtered with muslin to soften the light and maintain the mood. But the layout is the same, and most importantly, the impeccable service is just what you'd expect. Friendly, knowledgeable, engaging and eager to make your experience memorable. On our visit, our server, Giuseppe, was tremendous. Always smiling, always projecting a suave, old world grace and charm, always welcoming. We know to ask for him when we return. And the food? Well, believe me when I tell you the steaks might be even better than they were before. The staff will tell you all about the difference in how Bourbon Steak does their meats compared to other high-end steakhouses. I won't pretend I understand the specifics but I will tell you their 10-ounce filet was one of the best I've ever tasted anywhere. The NY strip was excellent, too, but the filet won the night, as it should for the price point. Now, on average, Bourbon Steak is pricier than Shula's, so be prepared for that. But overall, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. One last note: don't leave without at least trying the desserts. The beignets were a little dense, but the sauces they come with were heavenly, and the brûléed basque cheesecake was truly to die for. Taste for yourself, and be seduced. read more

Took our family of 4 to an earlier dinner on a Thursday night on part of our Disney vacation. We ordered 4 different sides to try, the wedge and Caesar salads, the onion soup, the truffle bread, a kids "entree", and 3 steaks. The fry flight brought to the table, something we didn't order, had 3 types of fries and 3 sauces, including ketchup. The fries were cold and almost stale. It was quite the "warm-up" for the rest of our experience. The soup and salads were solid. No issues. The steaks were cooked perfectly (medium rare), yet a bit cool when delivered. The seasoning was one layer / hint more of salt away from being great. I've had way too many medium-rare steaks in my life, so expecting the steak to be at least warm when arriving to the table is reasonable. The kid's shrimp cocktail was two pieces of shrimp. I kid you not... had our server shared that little tidbit of info, we would have ordered the normal portion. 3 of the 4 "shareable" sides were cool when they arrived to the table. The only side not cool was the baked potato. The other three, the whipped potatoes, mac & cheese, and creamed corn went from cool to cold after about 10 minutes. It actually became a bit laughable how cold and bland those 3 sides were. While this may have just been an off night or experience, there's no way a $500+ meal should ever have that many issues. Our initial server ditched us after taking the order. The next server was incredibly friendly, and I imagine he may have given better guidance on the items. It may have been a sign that no one ever asked us how we liked our meal or checked in to see how it was going. Maybe they knew it wasn't up to par? We had really high hopes for this experience, and unfortunately, we were completely let down. read more

I was in town with my daughter to visit Disney and we have visited the Bourbon in Aventura and Nashville but the service here was truly excellent. The food was also what we would expect from Michael Mina spot and we really enjoyed but really the service was A+. If you have a chance to visit, I would ask for these two as they take care of the customer, genuinely. My daughter is special needs and they checked in the entire time to make sure we were set. Wow we had a fabulous dinner here with server Joe he was so kind, trust me just ask for him! Morgan went out of her way to fit us in on a busy night and make sure we had a great experience. We came here one day after Disney to celebrate my son's 4th birthday and they made the evening really special. My parents had never been here and were really impressed with the food and service, I go to another location often because my little boy likes the fries so I have an excuse to treat myself to a steak. Shulas was my favorite restaurant over many years. Sad to see them gone but bourbon steak is absolutely wonderful. I don't eat a lot of steak but when I do I want an excellent aged cut. This place has a great whiskey and an ok wine selection to go with the steaks. Staff is incredible read more
