Outside of Restaurant showing the Old Name (Rubio's Tacos & Grill)

This is a fairly new Peruvian / Mexican / Sushi restaurant, thus the name "Lomito Fuzion," blending 3 cuisines in a single location. Lomito refers to the delicious Lomo Saltado dish from Peru. The restaurant is a bit hard to find because the sign outside still reads " Rubio's Tacos & Grill. Mexican Cuisine". My wife and I wanted to try it as we were originally looking for the "Lomito Fusion" sign, and we didn't find it. Just use your navigation system, and it will lead you to this hidden gem. It has plenty of tables & chairs, and they are still working on another section of the restaurant. My good friend and I came for lunch and were quickly greeted by the chef, who was extremely friendly and full of suggestions. We wanted to try several dishes to sample between us. We started with the "Truxel Roll". My friend loves sushi, and he thought it was full of flavors and enjoyed it. I'm not an expert at sushi, but with the fresh ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce and all the ingredients in the sushi roll, it was excellent. My friend did a good job selecting this particular roll. Then I wanted to try the "Jalea de Pescado," which was fish fried and served with fried yuca (a starchy root vegetable ), fried plantain and tartar sauce. And lastly, we split a "Lomo Saltado". The meat was very flavorful and served with fries and rice. It was delicious!. My favorite dish of the 3 was the Lomo. We ordered way too much food, and we had to take some sushi home.

My boyfriend has never had Peruvian food and really wanted to try it. He got the fish and chips for us to share and the steak and fajitas are huge. Portions were really generous! I normally don't love steak fries, but there's are super fresh and paired well with the yolk from the egg and the steak sauce. The service was really nice and pretty quick, and also was kind enough to ask how we wanted the eggs done while prepping the food. The plantains were also amazing and cooked to perfection! We will definitely come back

10/10. I'm glad that Jimmy's relocated here and that they're still serving up the best Peruvian food in Sacramento. Seafood was fresh, lomo was well seared, flavorful, and perfectly tender. Service was excellent and loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Will always come back!

I didn't want to write this review but I had a concern about something about the menu. I ordered the tequenos de pollo as an appetizer and the menu didn't say anything about it having cheese in which was perfect. I got the order and it in fact had cheese. I'm lactose intolerant and really sensitive to dairy so I asked about the cheese being in it. He confirmed it was in there, so I asked if they can just take it back- the waiter said no. I then asked if they can just take it off the bill because I couldn't eat it. He said no to that too. My husband doesn't eat meat and my son is lactose intolerant so it was going to be food wasted and money down the drain. I was pretty shocked because I've never been to a restaurant where they can't reasonable accommodate the guest. I then ordered my entree and the chicken was very dry and overcooked. I was not satisfied but I knew they wouldn't let me swap it for something else. Unfortunately I'm not going to rush to come back. The waiter was friendly enough but not accommodating. I get nervous when it comes to food allergies because now I know that some restaurants aren't disclosing food allergens which is actually not allowed. There are folks out here with life threatening allergies, so these places need to be careful. I'm glad I'm not one of those people but it's still disappointing.

We had the kindest server who let me sample a few (non alcoholic) drinks before making my decision. My colleague and I ordered two appetizers off the bar bites menu. We ordered the yucas y platanos ($13) and the beef heart anticuchos ($17). Then, we felt like we could still eat a little bit more so we split the ceviche mancora ($26). All the food was fantastic. A few days later, and I'm still thinking about how great those beef hearts were. So flavorful, so tender, and such a fun texture. I was so surprised with how much I enjoyed them. In second place was that ceviche mancora. The sauce had the perfect spice. We asked for between a mild to a medium, and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Our waiter was extremely patient with explaining every dish, giving us recommendations, and making sure we were comfortable with the spice level. He really spent extra time with us to explain everything and I really appreciated it. Overall I would highly recommend this spot if you're in the area.

The platanos and yuca appetizer was very good, the Chicha Morada sangria was delicious, and the birthday cheesecake was appreciated as well. Unfortunately though, my husband and I were both disappointed with the Lomo Saltado. I completely understand restaurants are dealing with rising costs, inflation, etc., but the dish we received had a very small amount of steak compared to the amount of onions. My husband and I jokingly called it the "Onion Saltado" dinner afterward. I wish I had taken photos, but I had accidentally left my phone at home. My honest suggestion would be either: keep the current portion sizes but balance the meat-to-onion ratio a bit better and consider adjusting the price point, or increase the amount of steak and vegetables and charge a little more for it. I truly don't mind paying higher prices for a great dining experience, good service, and a satisfying entrée. I just didn't feel the value matched the $33 price in this case. That said, the restaurant itself had a great vibe and the service was genuinely excellent.

Both items were pretty good - I liked that the Crunch Wrap had a cheese crust on the outside of the tortilla and the Quesadilla had some nice cheese pulls. Both also came with tortilla chips and salsa. Their menu is small and they do not offer rice and beans, but they do offer tacos and nachos as well as a few other items. Food came out quickly and staff were friendly as well! Can't really speak on the ambiance since it was a food truck, but I would check them out again if I saw them around! Check them out!

Finally,…read moreafter what felt like forever waiting for them to come back around to the Capitol, I got to order the krunch wrap again. This time, I got al pastor. The two options are al pastor or chicken or for $1 extra, asada. If you can't stand those two options, sure go ahead and order with the asada, but if you could go either way, choose the al pastor! It was so tender, flavorful, and juicy. I've only had al pastor this delicious one other time and have been chasing down that flavor for almost two years now and am happy to say I have found it with Ahuevo's al pastor. On top of that, the tostada inside is so unbelievably crispy and light and the toasted cheese on the outside is so genius. Those are probably the two characteristics that I love the most about this menu item. A few things were different with my experience this time, but nothing that would garner a lower rating. First, it was served in a nacho style tray rather than a takeout box. Not the biggest fan because it's difficult to transport, but on a good day, find a bench and you'll be just as comfortable as if you ate it in your office. Second, there were significantly less tortilla chips included. I counted maybe like six... but! They're not really important to the dish, except for when some of the fillings inevitably fall into the tray and you're left with the tortilla chips to scoop them up (you don't wanna waste this stuff). Lastly, there was no side sauce like when I ordered the asada, but again, not necessary! I wasn't a big fan of the sauce to begin with when I tried it, because the flavors are so balanced in the krunch wrap by itself that it's just not needed. Ok, one other thing that was different- the fillings were so generous! Last time I was biting into some thick layers of tortilla, but this time they got the ratio on the money. If you can only get one thing from this truck, get this and you will not regret it whatsoever. And just to emphasize, the quality versus the price of the food is absolutely insane. With surging food prices, I was happy paying $12 and am looking forward to hopefully seeing them in front of the Capitol again.

Despite having TVs visible in the restaurant, Parada Walnut Creek does not show live sports at all. If you come in hoping to enjoy a game while eating or having drinks, don't bother. The TVs are either off or showing non sports programming, even during major sporting events. This is especially disappointing considering the bar seating and layout suggest that watching a game would be an option. What makes this worse is that the Lafayette location (Barranco) DOES show sports on their TVs, creating a confusing and inconsistent customer experience across the brand. Same ownership, similar cuisine, but completely different policies. If Lafayette can balance food and sports viewing, there's no good reason Walnut Creek can't. At a minimum, this should be clearly communicated. Instead, customers are left guessing--or worse, finding out after they've already ordered. Not everyone wants a "quiet, curated dining experience" all the time, and having TVs but refusing to use them for sports just feels out of touch. If you're looking for great Peruvian food and want to watch a game, go to Lafayette. If you're at Parada Walnut Creek, leave your sports expectations at the door.
