[[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm not sure when this place changed hands but this is not the same place I've been going to for the last three years.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't even recall how many people I brought here. It was always so good but this was so heartbreaking. I received the Chica morada, a drink I made daily in Peru when I used to live there, in a plastic tub that is meant for takeout. The other dish which is an epic Peruvian national dish, papas a la huancayo, was so bad that I ended up leaving most of it. It's really hard to find Peruvian food and also expensive. Unfortunately this was not really Peruvian food and prices tripled what they were earlier in the year. I'll have to find it somewhere else now.

Hole in the wall Peruvian Mexican restaurant. I ate lunch here with my boss about two months ago and have been eager to go back. When you walk inside, you go to the counter to place your order and the tables are self seating. The interior is outdated but don't let that fool you from their delicious food. My boss and I ordered the lomo saltado and chicken saltado. It was DELICIOUS! The dishes were so flavorful and the amount that you get is fair for the price that you pay (although it is a bit on the expensive side). Look no further if you are in the mood for Peruvian food. This place will not disappoint!

Stopped in for a late lunch today and it just happened to be Happy Hour! Lots of good stuff on there and they also have daily specials. We tried 4 dishes today and they were all delicious! There was also a chips and salsa bar. The creamy green sauce was my favorite. We will stop in again the next time we're in the area! The location of the restaurant is a bit sketchy but the food was definitely worth it.

Yummmm, ordered through door dash. Lomo soltado, seafood with rice and civeche. Everything was good and tasty. Its a little pricey but its worth it. Would like to come back and dine in next time for different experience but all in all door dash experience was good. Thank you

Amazing !!!! Food is SO good!! Will be coming back soon... love finding new places with so much flavor and culture

    Tallarines verdes con lomo saltado

I had ají de gallina which was flavorful and well-prepared.The portion size was really big for the price, and they have a lot choices for lunch specials. Lunch prices staring at 11.99 which is really affordable for nowadays. My daughter had the tallarines which was really tasty and creamy. We will be coming back for sure.

    Jalea de mariscos !!! Yummy

My first time in this place and the food was delicious, fast service . Don't let the neighborhood fool you about it. 100% Peruvian taste .

The restaurant had great energy and a fun, buzzy atmosphere. The crowd was a lively mix of people from the Capitol, couples enjoying date night and moviegoers grabbing dinner before or after a show. We ordered the carnitas and carne asada. Both plates were generous and full of flavor. The carnitas were tender and practically fell apart with a fork, and the carne asada was cooked perfectly. Add friendly service and a colorful setting, and you have a great downtown Sacramento dining spot!

Unfortunately, the service was lacking during our visit. One of our meals was forgotten and we had to flag down the server to let him know. Our server also wasn't around very often, so it was difficult to get refills or ask for anything we needed. When we requested a specific number of to-go boxes, we weren't given enough and had to get up and ask for additional boxes ourselves. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but I took away 1 star for the lack of service. The service could definitely use some improvement, especially since it wasn't busy when we went. With more attentive service, this could have been a much better dining experience.

They didn't just walk by like frazzled, hurried workers like most restaurants pushing through the crowds. They actually gave me a nice smile and said welcome, and then walked by. And then I got to the reception area found that there was already a pretty big crowd at around the 5:30 PM or so I guess a lot of early birds come to eat there on Sunday. The receptionist asked for how many and said you'd be like a 20 minute wait and there was chairs where people were waiting but it was only like a 15 minute wait. The server was fast with the chips and salsa and ice water and then soon the waiter came and took my order. He was really quick and witty, fun to talk to. What I really enjoyed was as the noise of the table Near quieted down and they left. I saw a young man cleaning up the table and getting it ready for the next group of people. He was dressed really nice and had a tie on. Having been in restaurants most of my life I said to myself, I bet you he works with the owners or something. And I said to him, are your related to people that own the place ? he said my parents own this place. He was very friendly and polite. He told me a tiny bit about the restaurant and how everything had been since 1970, much older than he was, he was only a sophomore in high school I think. I never really got his name, but I was kind of proud of him because he was working hard at his family's restaurant. I ordered probably something bigger than I could eat because I had to take leftovers home, but it was really a tasty meal, and they're coming out with more chips and salsa without being asked, probably didn't help as well as a second lemonade. It's really impressive when you have a well oiled machine and it appeared to me that the people that worked there seem to be happy so that's always a good sign of good management. Several years back, I worked in the restaurant industry doing maintenance and repairs so I went to a lot of different restaurants and saw a lot of things so I know what to look for. I'm definitely gonna come back when my brother and his wife come up from the Bay Area my friend Ivan he'll wanna go there for lunch or dinner I know. He's kind of a picky eater and was born in Mexico, but I think he'll be impressed with this place.

I got the 2 item plate and chose verde enchilada and the verde chimichanga. It came with rice and beans but I asked for no beans. The pork was tender but was not spicy at all as the menu stated the pork verde would be spicy. The chimichanga was super cheesy. My friend ordered the steak ranchero dish and did not like it very much. It looked more like a stew. The ranchero sauce looked to be very watery.
