I was excited to finally try this place with my husband. We came in for an early dinner during the week and it wasn't busy at all. We had a very friendly waiter. I didn't want to write this review but I had a concern about something about the menu. I ordered the tequenos de pollo as an appetizer and the menu didn't say anything about it having cheese in which was perfect. I got the order and it in fact had cheese. I'm lactose intolerant and really sensitive to dairy so I asked about the cheese being in it. He confirmed it was in there, so I asked if they can just take it back- the waiter said no. I then asked if they can just take it off the bill because I couldn't eat it. He said no to that too. My husband doesn't eat meat and my son is lactose intolerant so it was going to be food wasted and money down the drain. I was pretty shocked because I've never been to a restaurant where they can't reasonable accommodate the guest. I then ordered my entree and the chicken was very dry and overcooked. I was not satisfied but I knew they wouldn't let me swap it for something else. Unfortunately I'm not going to rush to come back. The waiter was friendly enough but not accommodating. I get nervous when it comes to food allergies because now I know that some restaurants aren't disclosing food allergens which is actually not allowed. The service was poor. The server barely spoke. When he saw that none of my food had been eaten past the first bite; he looked over at it 5 times but never inquired as to what was wrong. I ordered the empanadas. They were visually appealing. So nicely done. The flavor; however, left much to be desired. The chicken empanada was creamy and flavorless. The chicken was dry despite what may have been cheese. The beef empanada was cold in the center. The chorizo empanada was good at first bite. Soon after, there was a strange aftertaste that made me want to give it ALL back . Had the concha $5.00 for a small condiment size dish of fried corn -- literally dried corn--cardboard, tasteless--sawdust. Never again. If you have money to burn give it a try. If you like to get something good for you cash--go elsewhere. The service was far from good and extremely close to the worst. Only 1 star because there is no option for less than that! read more

I drive by this place all the time and finally decided to give it a try. I made reservations for 6pm on a holiday Monday right after Valentine's Day for 3 people. When I went on a Friday, the buffet was not busy at all. I loved the soup - it was pulling hot, fresh, and had a good amount of meat and veggies. I had a diet Inka Cola, this soda tastes like bubblegum and cream soda. This time I ordered the "Tallarín Verde Con Lomo Saltado" ( Lomo Saltado with Green Noodles ), the Lomo Saltado was very flavorful, juicy and served without its usual fries and the Tallarín Verde was delicious and soaking up all juice. The chicken soup was a delicious was to start the meal, followed by the chicharron chicken... so crispy and loved the pairing of the tartar sauce. That was a unique sauce! Went here for dinner with some friends on a Friday day. We got there early at 5:30 and the place was really empty. People started coming in around 6-7ish and it got pretty full. The restaurant is Peruvian and they have a cute souvenir shop inside that sells stuffed animal llamas, shirts, coffee all from Peru. The llamas are so cute and a lot of the souvenir items are made from real llama fur Since we were one of the first for dinner service, we were greeted at the door and shown around at the shop. Our server was excellent and explained the menu and her favorites since it was our first time dining there. we started off with the empanada sampler: carne, chorizo con pina and pollo. All of them were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend trying their empanada sampler For main entree we got the lomo saltado (stir fried beef,onions, tomatoes) and comes with fries. I highly recommend this dish as it's a classic Peruvian dish. The meat was so tender and flavor was on point. The fries were good too. I also loved their passion fruit drink, it was refreshing and perfectly tangy The seco de codero (lamb shank) was just okay and the pescado a Lo macho had mahi mahi, calamari and shrimp in a yellow pepper sauce. The sauce was tasty but the mahi mahi felt a bit dry. Overall, worth going and try their lomo saltado and empanadas. There aren't that many Peruvian spots around so it's nice to have one nearby. I heard they also have daily lunch buffets and their buffets on the weekend have more options including seafood. I'll have to go back again to try their buffet sometime read more

I tried three different chicken dishes and all were on that edge between 'leftovers' and cold. Attentive server but the food wasn't very good. My husband had the Pollo à la Brasa (rotisserie chicken) although flavorful it was quite dry. I had the Pachamanca la Huaca, first it was supposed to be stewed beef and pork but I was served beef and 1 chicken leg. It was also supposed to come with steamed potatoes, sweet potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables. The veggies were not grilled and I got 1 small piece of sweet potato and two small pieces of potato. I'm also pretty sure the chicken in it gave me stomach issues as it tasted off and I've been running to the bathroom (and this is the only thing I've eaten today outside of some toast this morning). Updating my review as we've been here twice now, once for dinner and more recently for their lunch buffet. Between the two options, we'd opt to return for the dinner and skip the buffet. My husband and I both really enjoyed the food at dinner. The flavors were great and portion size was fair. However, we were very put off by the service of our waiter last time. We were rushed through the meal and ignored. It took nearly an hour to get our food but then within minutes of getting the entrees, we were given the check. Then a minute or two later while we were still eating, he came back and asked us to make our payments. It was insulting and we felt like we were being rushed out. During our recent lunch visit, service was better but the food was worse. The lunch buffet is small and the quality is less than their dinner service. It's so expensive and just isn't frankly worth it. There's a small salad bar, rice, fries, a soup, lentils, and a few entrees basically. It wasn't the variety we were hoping for given the expensive price. The food was lukewarm and just not that appetizing. It's a much better deal to get a regular entree. Both times we've visited have been for special occasions, but honestly inside it doesn't feel that nice. It is inside an old Sizzler and the ambiance is no nicer than it was back then. Ultimately, there isn't a lot of choice for other Peruvian meals locally so we may return. I hope service improves in the future. On our way to Tahoe, my wife discovered this hidden gem -- and I'm so glad she did. Having traveled to Peru many times, I can say this place is truly authentic. I am here for less than 24 hours and saw this and thought it would be a good place for lunch... why not buffet, Peruvian cuisine. This place gets 1 star for the niceness of the employees and 1 star for restaurant cleanliness... maybe I should have ordered something other than the buffet but it was just OKAY... I would never come back to visit.. everything was mostly white meat-- the two chicken dishes they had. I grabbed two pieces of dark meat u saw and asked the kind waitress for more... I waited about 10 minutes for 2 pieces that had definitely been there since this morning or more than likely yesterday... they weren't hot. Instead they were hard and inedible... I literally could not eat them. I'm still wondering why they took so long to come out. The kicker, I ordered club soda. She tried to upcharge me to the bottle San pellegrino and I said no thank you, the gun from the bar is just fine. Well then she charged me 4.45 for water?!? I'm good.
