All the food is so good you can get dishes and eat family style. We loved the seafood rice and the papa a la huancaina

Their food is AMAZING! The portions are huge and worth it too! It's a small business so the service can be a little slow, but it's definitely worth the wait. It's not easy finding a Peruvian restaurant as good as this one within a hundred miles (and I've tried haha) I've lived in Europe and been around to Peruvian restaurants there and still not found a place as good as this. Wherever I travel, I tend to find a Peruvian restaurant in the area, since I am a huge fan of Peruvian food, and I found this place, located near my workplace. When you go in, the setting is like a cafe-style space, but on the right is the dining hall. My only problem with the dining room is the lack of decorations; the atmosphere was simply dull and can definitely make some touch-ups, from the tables to the walls. Although I have tried different dishes from other Peruvian restaurants, my usual go-to dish is the Saltado de Pollo (Chicken Stir Fry). Their dish is tasty and delicious, but the french fries were a bit stale, but that changed when I just dipped them in the main course's sauce. My waiter, presumably the owner, too, was friendly and attentive; we made small talk, as I was paying my tab, and he was an overall pleasant, good guy. Their dishes are pricey, but the portions are generous, so be prepared to spend some hefty amount of money. I think it's definitely worth it, and worth checking out, even if it's once. Went to Dona tere last night to pick up some appetizers for dinner. I bought two orders of the papas a la huancaina because I wanted to make sure I had enough for dinner. When I got home and opened it, the portions on these orders were soooo small( couldn't even serve for dinner, ended up just having it as a little snack) I spent 30 bucks on these two orders too! Peruvian restaurants are hard to come by so I was surprised to find this place with my family! What can I say, the food was amazing! Big portions so come hungry, food was excellently seasoned and good presentation. The waitress was very kind and the ambiance was very relaxed, it reminded me of my grandma's house in Peru and the music was bumping! This is a bit tough to rate. I will try to be objective and fair. Food was not bad. Tasted fresh and seemed like was being made while we waited. That was also the problem. It appeared to me there was just one person making one dish at a time. Food took forever to be delivered. We spent almost 3 hours there while wanting just a quick meal. It seems this is being run by a family with their hearts in the right place but no organization. Also it appears they need to hire more staff and not rely on family members to do everything coz they are obviously failing. Everything from water to silverware to food took eons to arrive. Overall I am somebody who can forgive a lot as long as the food is good but this was unforgivable. Most of the entrees are too big and also too expensive. It would work out ok if you are in a large group and are sharing but if you are eating alone or in a small group that is a hassle. I dont think I am going back anytime soon. read more

Out of several options to eat Peruvian food, this place is the best by far. Not as fancy as others on the bay area, but the home quality style surpass everything. If you order the dish called the trio you can feed 3 or 4 people for less than $40. Includes fried calamari, best ceviche ever, and seafood rice (chaufa de mariscos). The anticucho is delicious. Try the typical beverage chicha morada and local soda Inka Cola. You might need to wait a while, they cook everything after orders, worth the wait! read more

We've been eating here since just before the pandemic started. It's what you'd expect from a mom and pop restaurant. Pros: Big portions of food and tastes fresh. Cons: They're not big ones but, did wish my Jalae came with rice instead of having to order the side of rice. Lastly the yucca could be seasoned with at least the salt and pepper when they come out of the fryer to lock in the flavor a bit more. All in all we really like this restaurant! read more
