Absolutely Unacceptable Service This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I was completely ignored and not served at all. The employee named Jo Jo showed zero professionalism, zero urgency, and zero respect for customers. I stood there waiting while she made no attempt to help me or even acknowledge my presence. If you don't want to do your job, don't work in customer service. This place clearly tolerates this kind of behavior, which says a lot about management. This place is legit a hole in the wall. You would never know how great this bars food is unless you actually go inside. My coworkers and I always come after a shift and love that they're open in the morning. Honestly I come here for the food but the drinks are fairly priced. I've visited this establishment a handful of times in the past and never had an issue until my last visit Wednesday night. My mom and I arrived before the afternoon to night shift change and there was a very friendly bartender who served us our first round of draft beers as well as our appetizers we ordered. I didn't get her name but shout-out to her for providing exceptional service! For bar food standards their appetizers are actually pretty alright, my mom ordered spicy buffalo wings and I ordered chicken nachos, so far so good. After the shift change I proceeded to get our next round and the next bartender of the night, Albert, already had somewhat of an attitude. I understand how difficult it can be working customer service jobs but you shouldn't openly exhibit how much you don't enjoy your form of employment as it makes consumers feel quite unwelcome. Before serving me he weirdly questioned where and with which group I was seated which I found quite odd. I proceeded to explain I was seated in the corner with my mother, just a group of 2. While waiting on my beverages I had a conversation with a senior regular and I offered to buy him a beverage on the house. When I requested this to the bartender he rudely said, "you're a sucker" and laughed it off while serving us. This remark left quite a bitter taste in my mouth so upon ordering my last round I harmlessly asked if there's any way I can get in contact with his employer, Lona. He asked why and I simply stated that I didn't appreciate his unnecessary remark. I shouldn't even have requested this as he then closed my tab and said he refused to give me any service and instead handed me a water cup. I was honestly quite flabbergasted and humiliated as there was a full bar-top of civilians listening to this interaction. The following day I got into contact with the owner of the establishment. Although she defended her employee and tried to justify his behavior, she gave me an apology on his behalf which I greatly appreciated. I will not slander this establishment due to just one bad apple that she employs however I will suggest to my fellow consumers to steer clear of this bar if that man, Albert, is on shift as he's extremely unprofessional and gives this fine local dive bar an overall bad look. I personally don't think I'd come back in the future as I left feeling quite upset and humiliated but take your risk coming to this establishment, perhaps you'll come on a good day where he isn't working and you'll have an awesome experience. read more

This place was featured in Bar Rescue but I havent seen the episode. I went before and after the renovations and it doesnt appear to have changed too much. This is definitely a dive bar , and the owner Lona is active in chatting with the clients as well as running the place. The first time, i was served some sort of cucumber shot/drink that was delicious. This time I actually took another friend here. I believe I asked for the wrong drink but oh my god that drink was a heavy heavy pour! Instead of cucumber I ordered cactus and it was delicious. We got a drink and a shot and by the third round we were done. Also met a friendly local at the bar and she brought us shots. Did not taste the food. The jukebox had some blasting tunes. This bar is the epitome of bar rescue. I had no idea I was going to a bar that was previously on bar rescue my friends 50th birthday party was totally waffled. Nobody can get drinks the bartender at the counter when I approached him told me the girl would help me, she walked away. This is my first time here with friends and I drove from a good distance from Southbay and I was looking forward to a cool dive bar experience. This bar reminded me why I don't go to places like this anymore the service or lack of it, and the looks on the peoples faces working there, including the male bartender who told me, he couldn't help me. I had to go to the end of the bar. This is after I've been there a substantial amount of time three other groups were served that were definitely regulars the bartenders. Do not give a shit about new people walking in and ignore them and made me feel genuinely uncomfortable. I would never go back here ever again one of the worst bar experiences I've ever had, total crap service and I can't say anything about the drinks or food because I never got one just happy we went somewhere else read more

Heard about this place for years and I finally stopped in. It's a small local bar with a cast of regulars that add ambiance to the place. All are friendly. It has a jukebox for music that you can access from an app from your phone. The beer is cold and drinks are good. We ordered the medium chicken wings. They were tasty with the right amount of zest. We also ordered 2 asada hard shell tacos. I was pleasantly surprised that they were so tasty. Sometimes, neighborhood bars can be intimidating but Lonas is a cool place. Our go to spot for breakfast for years now. Ashley makes amazing drinks, she makes the BEST bloody marys. The food here always hits the spot in the morning. There hasn't been one thing that I tried here that I didn't like. The ambience is very casual, the dark red interior gives the place a nice chill vibe. You can play music on the app and they also have pool tables readily available. Highly recommend the albondigas soup if you want something comforting and on the lighter side. Stay Away! All the bartenders overcharge your tab here thinking that you're way too drunk to realize it. I am not referring to a small amount either. I've been overcharged $60-80 on numerous occasions and when you ask them or confront them about it, they play dumb. All the "regulars" get the best prices while us "outsiders" get the shaft and play the inflation. I've reported them to my bank and will be reporting them to the city for inappropriate business tactics. It's ashame too bc it use to be a good spot. read more

Parking - isn't the greatest here. Some spots in the back entrance but usually people will park behind you then you need ttk walk around the bar asking whose car it is so they can move it. Better off parking on side st or street park it out front. Service - is good here but like any bar as soon as it gets full it's get tougher to get a drink. They do have some days that are karaoke night which gets pretty full on those days. The most popular game of the night usually gets the audio around the bar. Food - they have a big menu I've only tried the tacos which are good. The wings buffalo with friess which are ok. Good finger foods for sure.
