This place confused me. It's apparently more than just a donut shop, but I didn't really have time to explore. I didn't think the donuts were as fresh as they could have been, and that made me sad. Love this donut shop! They are easy in/out on the way to work, the girls at the counter are always do nice! They have a great variety and the donuts are big and fluffy.. Awesome donut shop located on the north side of Bishop Arts District. I actually came here because it's one of the few donut shops that stay open past noon and I had woken up too late to visit one of my other favorite shops. Although, after coming here, I may have to make this place a favorite as well. The lady inside was very nice and helpful from the second I entered to the time I left. The donuts were still fresh for that time of the day and on the larger side too. Also, just because their donuts are larger, doesn't mean they charge more here. Still paid what I pay at other places basically. The atmosphere is nice too and there's plenty of parking as well. Overall, I'd definitely give this place a try if you're in the neighborhood or any of the surrounding areas, especially as they stay open till 2PM! read more

These are some of the best donuts in Dallas area !! Better than Shipleys and the local Asian spots everyone raves about. Moving from Vegas, I know a good donut when I taste one and I'm use to seeing abuelitas in the donut shops, and the donuts would always be nice, soft and stretchy with nice golden brown in color. With that being said, the size of these donuts are nice and the price is also good as well. I got the original glaze and cinnamon roll donuts, both were soft and flavorful and did not have an aftertaste of tap water (like some of the local spots I've been to here). Old school prices and old school donuts. I love that combo! I liked the donuts and the pastries but they had a bit too much icing for me. Words I never say just came out. And the cinnamon roll (which is my favorite out of all donut) didn't have any cinnamon in it. It tasted like a regular donut just in rolled form. Overall review, I'd go back if in the neighborhood. The customer service was excellent, the inside was clean, and it was very cool inside on a hot summer day. And the prices are GREAT!! The location is right across the street from the Beckley apartments. The ambiance is very old school, it gave me mom and pop vibes. The service was fantastic is only one young lady working and she made it a wonderful experience. I got the cinnamon roll and my friend got the og glazed donut and both of us were super impressed. Was a bit of a drive from Weatherford but since I was heading to my nieces and it was on the way why not stop. The sign says that currently they are open for 7am to 12 pm. I got there about 11:30am and was surprised to see a nicely stocked counter. I had plenty to choose from and ended up with 16 doughnuts and two huge bags of popcorn. The cashier was nice enough to help me out with my order. Well the entire family really enjoyed the Donuts and everything was just melt in your mouth goodness! The pricing ranged fro .95 cents to $2.25 for like the apple fritters which were huge by the way! Most of what I got was $1.25 each and the large bag of popcorn was $5.65 as of March 15 It all of the donuts were eaten on the first day but I can say they held up pretty good as I finished the last one I had today on 03/20/23 so they did not get all wet or soggy like some of other glazed donuts I've had. I can also say the way they packaged the popcorn still tasted fresh as I finish the last part of the bag today. It is really delicious and I'm Probably going to make the drive again this week for the popcorn and a donut or two! I have plenty of donut shops are where I live but I can tell you these are worth the drive! So check them out but remember their limited hours for now read more

When I was in high school and college, 1977 to 1980, Lone Star had more stores around town, and I worked at the one at 6416 Skillman, near the intersection with Abrams. Wayne Buckingham was the manager, and I really enjoyed the work. We also supplied donuts for sale to nearby Lake Highlands High School. Times have changed, glazed donuts no longer go for 15 cents each, and this location has moved on to other owners, but I still am loyal to the Lone Star Donuts brand. read more

Sausage kolaches were probably the worst I've ever had. I ordered the spicy sausage cheese kolache and what I received was a stale hotdog bun with tasteless sausage inside. One bite and threw it away. Hopefully the donuts are better but won't be back to try them. read more

Pricing is EXCELLENT here. I really like there cinnamon & danish type rolls. Powered and cinnamon sugar donuts are usually fresh and moist. I am not a big fan of there regular donuts but I know some people love them. I thinks it's the crazy amount of icing they use. Been coming here for years now and then and it's the Rolls that keep brining me back. They do sell breakfast sandwiches and you can even find there products in stores around the area. Last year, a friend stopped in on her way to my place and brought me a cake donut or chocolate covered (too long ago to accurately remember), and it was delicious. I ordered 10 dozen donuts for national donut day. I wanted to drop off 1 dozen donuts to 10 of my smaller offices. Lonestar boxed them 2 dozen to a box!!! The girl at the counter said she didn't know if I wanted them laid flat or not. Well you asked for my payment information why didn't you ask how I needed them boxed. And I ordered 10 dozen. This is not 10 dozen, this 5 24-pack. There suggestion to fix it was giving me 5 more empty boxes. We are in COVID-19 I am not going to open and repackage these donuts and take to my customers. Seriously!!!!! Tried to support business in my area as my mother has always told me to do. But won't be back here. Where do I begin and end!? This place is absolutely amazing! It sort of looks like an old 70s Diner from the outside but when you go in you immediately smell.... Popcorn! LOL yes that's right popcorn. They pop popcorn inside and sell it by the big circus bags or individual sizes but that is the first thing you smell when walking in. But you are immediately drawn into the center selection of cinnamon rolls and danishes! You get a whole 6 Pack for $1.40! $1.40! And it goes up in increments of $0.20 I believe so an 8-pack would be 1.60 and so on. They have these donuts called pretzels but it's really a glazed donut just shaped like a pretzel they are so good! But the true gem is their cinnamon rolls! They have two different kinds. One is your traditional cinnamon rolls that come in the prepackaged plastic container that is out with the danishes and they have one that they make in a donut style that is behind the counter. To describe the donut Style i would say the icing is a sort of glazed donut icing almost, it sticks to the cinnamon roll more and sort of flakes away as you bite into it! OMG! Worth the try! And they are open from the wee hours of the morning until 6 p.m. better hours better prices and a better deal than any donut shop I have been to in Texas! read more
