Researched a lot of flooring stores and only 2 had great reviews on Google AND Yelp. John at Lone Star was super honest and actually tried to downsell me. No one is that honest anymore. The carpet is a commodity but John gave very honest pricing. What really matters are the installers. If you carefully review the other stores you see their contracted installers are who disappoint. Not at Lone Star. John's installers have been with him for 15 years so they are really good. The installers are who really matter on your finished product. I also needed float and his crew was great. They got the entire upstairs done in a day. They move all your furniture and move it back at no extra cost. Which is really great! read more

Don't buy from this super shady business I am a repeat customer that will never use this company again because they lack business integrity and would not honor a simple warranty. We or our referrals have used them on multiple job but the last tile job they performed for my house was a total disaster. The below was done by one of "their best Crew". From the start the install crew was breaking things starting with throwing the tiles off the van which caused a tile shortage which they bought more tile but delayed completion. They arrived late every day and stayed past 7:00 each day. The grout was uneven They broke the wheels on the refrigerator which after a long time finally repaired When they reinstalled the toilet they threw away the trim so they had to buy new and reinstall it. They crushed my dryer vent and fittings that I needed to fix. By this time I needed them OUT of my house They broke the tile OUTSIDE my front door threshold and installed new tile that was totally wrong for outside door that I had to paint. How can they break tile not even in the house? We had bullnose tile installed at a landing the tile pattern ran in the opposite direction of the rest of the tile. It was so noticeable that they had to take out that section of flooring because it looked so bad. They broke the weatherstripping on my back entry door and tried to make new but it's still broke They dumped waste grout on my curb that to this day is still on my curb. One of the last things they were to fix was one chipped tile. WELL the owner / president Mohamed wanted to make sure that everything was repaired and in order so HE took it upon himself to replace / repair this ONE tile. Well, it's almost a been a year and the tile is slipping in place and obviously the thin set used shrank. I called to have them replace ONE tile and I was told by the owner Mohamed that since they gave me a $200 discount (for the bad grout job) that they would not honor any warranty. This is my answer above. If only one person goes to another company because of this review because they did such a horrible job for me, they are the losers. Stay away! Salesperson was incredibly rude and lacked customer service. Wondered into this place searching for new laminate and tile flooring. I walked in smiled at the guy and started looking at samples. The guy at the counter just stares at me so i greet him with "Hi, im looking for some laminate". He replies with a straight face, "Well you're in a floor store". I quickly turned around and walked out of the store. Ridiculously rude. Walked into this store looking for new flooring. The sales man was nice and seemed knowledgeable. I told him my needs, and specifically mentioned my 3 large indoor dogs. He showed me several laminate options and gave me a "good, better, or best" range of options. We went with the "better", he was able to quickly come out for a measure and worked with a quick timeframe to get our install done. While I was not super impressed with the install team, they were ok and got the job done. Some of the problems we have had are: 1) We were never told we may have to have our doors trimmed (not their fault, but they could have let us know), so not all of our trim was able to be installed. Had they mentioned this, I could have had it done during the same week they were here, and then they could have completed the trim. 2) They installed a visually defective board right in the middle of the entry way, and never bothered to have it fixed. 3) they are blaming the dogs for LOTS of wear to the edges of the boards. The floor was installed less than 6 months and in all the high traffic areas the color is worn off of all the joints of the boards. The floor has also buckled in several places where very small spills have occurred. In my opinion, the installation was done improperly. They send an inspector out and he chalked up all the problems to the dogs. You are telling me floors that came with a 20 yr warranty can't hold up to 6 moths of normal wear and tear because of dogs? I get that they might not last 20 years, but I did expect more than 6 months. The dogs are large dogs, but are not lunatics. They don't scratch/dig at the floors and their nails are kept trimmed. This company was extremely unhelpful after the job was done, and I would never use them again. I made it very clear from the beginning that I did have dogs, and the sales man even showed me how the board would hold up by scratching at it with his keys. I wish he would have steered me to a different floor. All in all, it was a very frustrating experience and a huge waste of money. read more

We were looking to do our entire 2 story house remodeled with new flooring. I shopped around and was not happy with all the high pressure bids. Lone Star was the opposite. John has been doing floors 15+ years and is a treasure trove of knowledge. The installation of our entire house was efficient, clean and he would constantly check on if we had any questions. Great customer service, huge selection and competitive pricing! I was given the runaround by one of national flooring chains (rhymes with expire) so I ended up contacting this local business. John, the salesman, was very attentive, helpful, and answered all my questions honestly without trying to push a high priced product on me. The installation guys came in the following weekend and really did a great job on the floors, I have received nothing but compliments on how well the floors were done and which company I went with. Overall a great transaction from start to finish, my only complaint is that my crew started around 10:30 am (which is late to me) and finished in the evening as opposed to coming in earlier and finishing in the afternoon. I cannot say enough good things about this company. To sum it up: affordable, great customer service, dependable, and great products to choose from. We looked at several companies in the area, and Lone Star Floors had the best prices and outstanding customer service. From the initial conversations to the very end, we had a very positive experience. John walked us through entire process of replacing the carpeted areas in our entire home. He answered all of our questions and was extremely patient. I had quite a few questions on the types and durability of the different carpets because I have young children and many playdates...even a pooch. I picked out a carpet, but John steered us toward a less expensive option because of durability, warranty, and our needs. So he immediately won over my hubby. That spoke volumes of the type of company we were dealing with! He choose to examine our situation rather than make a bigger profit selling us something that was outside of our needs. He also directed us toward a carpet pad that will sustain the amount of traffic and the occasional spill (well, not so occasional with kiddos). Scheduling and installation were a breeze. The installation team was on time, fast, nice and very respectful of our home. When the carpet arrived at my home, it felt different and I became nervous that it was the wrong carpet, so I called up John. He double checked the order and called me back within minutes. He assured me that it was correct and that the carpet needed to be laid flat. Well, lo and behold, once it was laid flat, it felt just like the sample. During my mishap, John was very reassuring and had my satisfaction in mind. He even suggested I come back to the store to look at the sample (mine were at my other house). Post installation, I received a follow up call from John. This guy just went above and beyond the call of duty! Had hard wood floors done on my previously carpeted stairs from these guys. I have to say other than a scheduled time window hiccup in the beginning they did a great installation job. John was super helpful and accommodating and although his two man team got to our home about two hours later than when scheduled they still managed to knock it out in a day, as was needed. Very professional guys. Hats off to Eric ( the installer) the guy didn't even take a break. Worked straight from around 1:30 to about 7 to get it done, that's 14 steps and 2 landings. John himself called a couple times to check up on progress. Now although the wood does seem lighter than what we have down on our floors already, John assures me that the stairs will darken with age, I'm just gonna take his word for it. LoneStar Floors in the Woodlands was everything my wife and I hoped for! When we first bought our house we knew right away what we wanted to change and update. At the time we were unsure of whom to trust with the BIG project we had in mind so after hours of searching and reviewing different companies, John Tatom the store manager of LoneStar Floors was at the top of everyone's Google search! When we gave him a call he was very professional and passionate about what he had to offer. The service was great, the work is top quality, and the product selection was enormous! The first step was to have the house quoted for the floors, bathroom, and kitchen installed. We were under the impression that someone other than John was to come out and measure and give us a price quote but instead it was John himself, he was on time and very informative about our options of what we could do to our home. After everything was planned out, the construction on our house only took up 5 days and a day to double check everything! I would like to give a special thanks to, Romeo, Juan, Jerry and their whole crew; everyone was very polite and very respectful of all my personal items. Keeping constant conversation helped me understand how everything was installed and placed. They even spot cleaned and placed all my items back to their original spot!
