It's just big enough to sit down, have a cocktail and cigar, and have a conversation with friends. You can sit at the bar, on couches, or outside. They have a well-stocked humidor. The gentleman working inside gave me some good advice on choosing a cigar. Long Ash Cigars is a rum bar. So all of their signature cocktails are rum centric. I had an Ybor Rumfashioned. Long Ash is a relaxing place to enjoy a nice glass of wine or craft beer, sports game on one of their 3 TVs, and a nice hand rolled cigar. There is plenty of comfortable seating there with nice leather chairs or you can sit at the bar. I'm an occasional cigar smoker so I'm more sensitive to smoke than people who smoke regularly but what I noticed was that the ventilation at Long Ash was awesome! I didn't feel choked out by the smoke. I wasn't super excited go in because cigars aren't my thing, but I was pleasantly surprised with their menu of beer, wine & coffee! Lots of local craft beers. I ordered the cafe con leche and I think it was the best coffee I've ever had! I can't speak on the cigar selection, but it was cool to see the cigars being hand rolled at the front of the bar. They also had plenty of lounge style seating, high top tables, and bar seats. If the smell of cigars bothers you, they have outdoor seating which is great for people watching on 7th Avenue. I'm a long time shopper and supporter of Tabanero cigars down the street from Long Ash, but that doesn't mean that they have exclusive rights to my cigar business. In fact I find myself buying locally rolled cigars from almost anywhere that I can find them, just to support local business and try different blends. A few months ago, la Chica and I attended a Yelp event at the Vinoy in downtown St Petersburg. Long Ash was in the house and handing out free samples, as well as selling sticks. Most people took their free cigar and went about their business but I grabbed two free cigars and bought one for later. The woman who was working the table wasn't really sure of the blends or the wrappers being used. Both of the free smokes were great, no complaints. However, the perfecto that I bought was terrible. Harsh, rolled so tight I needed to use a poker and a very uneven burn. 2 of 3 isn't bad, so I stopped a few weeks ago and grabbed some maduros to share with a friend. Loved the vibe, the set up and more importantly, the stogies. My one suggestion would be to invest in bands. People are visual, and a label should always be associated with the taste of a good cigar. Plus, naked sticks just look generic and cheap, making them hard to give away as gifts. read more

He knows all about cigars and will be stoked to show you around the place and into the beautiful humidor. It has local art from artists and a few TV's if you want to watch the game. The prices are right and it's a warm inviting environment. You can watch true cigar rollers roll cigars and it is an art in itself. Truly one of my favorite places in Ybor to sit, have a stogie and relax. They have a great selection of wines and beers and also small humidors for purchase. A great big selection of them also!
