Amazing gem in Ybor City. Right on the main drag, this lounge sells their locally rolled brands of cigars as well as some of the more known national brands. Walking in on a quiet evening, we were immediately greeted and treated like family from that moment on. We were shown through the spacious humidor, and given recommendations based on the cigars we already smoke. The owner then showed us around, and was a delight to talk with. The drinks are reasonably priced and generously filled. The seating is VERY comfortable. Definitely a place to stop for a smoke on any evening. Great hand rolled cigar factory in Ybor City. The cigar rollers are all from Cuba and have all been taught the art of rolling cigars very well. It's located on the historic 7th Street in Ybor City, Tampa. And if your looking for cigars or cigar history this is where you need to go! The class was a unforgettable experience. They both learned to roll long Tobacco cigars (10). And even as a wife spectator I got to roll one. Odelma Matos the founder and owner of La Faraona Cigars actually taught the class. She was the nicest person with a awesome personality. And Rene behind the bar, and Matt were both friendly and filled with great history of Oldelma and her family. I wanted a cigar shop that had years of experience and whose roots went back to Cuba and She did not disappoint. I was impressed by the quality of construction and appearance of all of the cigars that my wife bought, I asked my wife to be sure to share my pallet profile with the owner and what she brought back was nothing less than a wonderfully made and blended cigar. I've found my new best cigar supplier. Having never been to La Faraona, I found a flyer mixed in with some of my old stuff while cleaning out some drawers. God knows where it came from. :-) On a hunch, I looked up the establishment and there they were, still in business. Since I was jonesing for a smaller candela, I wrote to the company and asked if they could make some for me. I received an immediate answer from Odelma that she had some wrapper and could roll me some robustos. I had these cigars within 4 days, and they were obviously freshly rolled! Threw them in the humidor for a month to settle and I have to tell you this was one fine smoke! Great products, nice people, fair prices, good communication. What more can you ask for! To sample the maduro, I purchased a cigarillo and was able to sit in chair right outside and enjoy it. The flavor was full bodied but not overpowering.
