I can't say enough good things about LBAH, especially Jason and Dr. Seto. From the moment we arrived until the end of our visit, they guided us through every step with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. Our pup had been limping for a few days, and couldn't get in at her regular vet but when we called LBAH, Jason was able to get us in right away. First visits can sometimes be stressful, especially when your pet isn't feeling their best, but Jason made the entire experience much easier and reassuring. After we checked in, we only waited a few minutes in the lobby before being taken to an exam room. This is where Jason's attention to detail and compassion really shined. He patiently listened to our long, nervous ramblings (sorry!) and communicated all of the important details to Dr. Seto. Dr. Seto was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough during her examination of our pup, who was ultimately diagnosed with a torn ACL. She took the time to answer our many questions and patiently explained both the current treatment plan and what to expect moving forward. At the end of the visit, Jason carefully went over our pup's medications with us. He explained what each medication was for, how to administer it, and took the time to answer all of our questions without making us feel rushed. Overall, we are truly grateful for the care and support we received from the entire staff at LBAH, especially Dr. Seto and Jason. We couldn't have asked for better care for our pup especially for a first time visit! read more

Pros: I like the Vets, staff is nice and they can usually see my pups pretty quickly. So making a appt is a breeze. Vets seem to actually care about your animals and break things down for why they recommend this or that. They check your animal in numerous ways to make sure they're healthy and good. Cons: Parking is horrible in that area. Sometimes I have to circle 2-3 times before finding something nearby. Even though the process of making the appt is quick...it does take a bit to be helped. I've had to wait 30 mins to be seen despite my appt. Also, once the actual vet visit is over...it takes a while to pay, get your meds and leave. Wish that part was quicker. Despite the parking, the slow process of being seen/leaving the vet once the appt is over...I would still recommend them. I've been to vets where parking is great but the Vets were trash and I would much rather deal with the former. 4/5 stars. read more

I recommend this veterinary office if you have a rabbit. Dr. Loper and Dr. Seto have both been very knowledgeable and helpful overall. Today our almost 11 year-old rabbit Gatsby had to come in with his first major health issue ever. He has a neurological reaction to. E cuniculi which is quite scary to witness. Doctor.Seto was very helpful and assuring he was prescribed three medication's and we are already seeing a bit of improvement this evening. But I want to give the biggest shout out to Todd, who was so kind and patient. He helped us administer Gatsby's medication's and showed us how to do it when we get home. He also syringed some water into my rabbit's mouth for us. He was lovely and after two hours of stress, it was nice to leave with such kindness as a memory. We will be back in 12 days for his checkup. Hopefully, he will improve and make it well beyond age 11! read more

1st they gave me flee treatment and forgot to charge me then made it seem like I took it which irritated me I eventually paid for it when I came back down to Long Beach after receiving like 5 voicemail another thing I don't like just tried to refill medication for my dog they said it takes 24 hrs which is crazy when they where able to fill it the same day I had an appointment. As much as I appreciate the several "same day" appointments for my Canary and the substantially lower priced office visit, I left feeling uncomfortable and not sure about the visit. While, the staff and Dr. were extremely friendly, Dr. Seto appeared puzzled as to why my Canary had lost so many feathers in one spot. She indicated the skin look good with a small area with blood. I told her I had a picture of the site and questioned if she wanted to see -she appeared very surprised!Honestly I think that prescription was given to me just to make me feel better as she didn't really come up with an answer as to what could be bothering the canary. Molting was a possibility, and she did notice that new feathers were coming in AFTER I showed her the photo. She said well I guess I "could" prescribe an antibiotic... which took forever to get made by the young lady who had to Google the dose on the label to explain it. There was a note at the coffee machine (really) , indicating an animal was being put to sleep. I hope it wasn't up when I heard the loud laughter in the hall while waiting for the doctor and assistant . We are regulars at this vet clinic and have used their services for both a cat and a parrot. I especially appreciate their knowledge and care when it comes to exotic birds, which can be hard to find. They are able to trim nails for a small fee (usually around $18), which is very convenient. We've also boarded our animals here during vacations and have always felt comfortable doing so. I first came to Long Beach Animal Hospital almost two years ago when I adopted my very first cat and every visit since has been seamless. Being new to having a cat--and really, to pet ownership in general--I appreciate having a practice I can trust. Recently, I unfortunately dealt with the passing of a beloved community cat. I was devastated and had no idea how to handle his remains, but from the moment I called, Yeileen was incredibly helpful, patient and comforting every step of the way. Took my dog to get treated here. Visit went fine until I called to speak to the vet to get information on my dogs diagnosis. I spent over $1000 and the vet said he would not speak to me, the owner of the dog as he gave information to my mother the person who picked him up. Prior to leaving the vet they said they would give me (the owner) a call in regard to the test which I paid for. Not customer facing or helpful as a pet parent to ensure that your animal is taken care of, they do not take the extra mile. No opportunity for me to ask any questions. I've been coming here for about two years now. My dog is 13 years old so he's had quite a few issues. Last week he had surgery at LB Animal hospital and had 3 teeth removed and 3 lumps taken off. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The staff gave my dog extra love and attention because he didn't like being alone after surgery. Took my guinea pig Wednesday march 18. She wasn't eating enough, shedding, acting depressed and weak. They gave me pain meds, powdered food to syringe feed, and medicine for her GI tract to keep working. Diagnosis: overgrown molars that were cutting her gums which in turn created ulcers. The bill for that dental procedure would be an estimate of $450-$750. I called the next morning to schedule that. Next opening wasn't until April 27th. She wouldn't survive. Then they moved it to march 27th. My piggy was in pain and deteriorating every day that passed. Yesterday morning I knew she wasn't going to make it. I called crying & told them she's dying what can I do. Only to be told the exotic doctor isn't in ( no sympathy) I was forced to watch my piggy die an agonizing death that took hours. She really fought hard to stay alive but this hospital doesn't schedule life threatening surgeries quick enough. I wasn't even offered to euthanize her. Instead was referred to an ER in Torrance that doesn't treat guinea pigs. I know because that's the first place I went to march 18th same day I found this "hospital". I paid almost $400 at the ER in Torrance to just be seen & get an eye cream which was not the real problem but they wouldn't do an oral exam because they don't treat guinea pigs. My piggy could've lived if she had her teeth & gum surgery that same day or less than a week! read more

We have been going to LB Animal Hospital for several years, lately it seems to have changed. We were there with our elderly dog on Saturday evening with an appointment. All went well with the doctor but when it came time to get meds and pay the wheels came off. We waited 40 minutes for the meds to get ready, mind you We were the only people in the office. I asked if I could pay to help expedite my time and was told no, I had to wait for the meds to ready. Finally when I asked if I could just pick the meds up in the morning, they became "ready". Fast forward to today, I get a call from the vet to go over lab results and he now recommends an additional medication- no problem I say yes. I get a call from the office staff to verify I want the meds, i say yes. I am then told the meds (prednisone) will be ready to pick up tomorrow morning. When I question that the Vet told me I could have them this evening, I am told animals with appointments have priority, so in essence, you're telling my dog which I paid you $700 on Saturday is not a priority today, although there is new medication needed after the lab results...really that's the way you treat your long time customers?? It's not like the medication is a something special. Now I need to find a new vet... read more

We took our puppy in (he was a 1 year old pug) for suspected parvo..they tested him and he was positive. We had let them know that Harry wasn't eating or drinking so they suggested intravenous (IV) fluids to prevent dehydration, antibiotics to combat secondary infections, anti-nausea medications (Cerenia), gastroprotectants to protect the gut lining. After being told it was going to be a $600 bill they made us wait in a room for not even joking 7 hours for IV fluids and they made my sister step out the room to pay for the bill/get the medication and told us we were good to go we asked the front desk man if they did the treatment and he said yes and we can go home now. We took Harry home but I had a suspicion that he didn't receive his IV treatment because he was so weak so I can to schedule and tell them that they didn't do it and they admitted that they didn't so Harry went a whole day dehydrated and they still charged us, but said we can come in for a "free" IV treatment. We did and we scheduled more after that because Harry wasn't doing so good so the doctor said she suggested we give him the Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody (CPMA) to help him boost up in 2 days she said..we did it because we were desperate that was another $900 added. We waited and waited for this alleged boost of energy but after day 5 he had passed away and the vet at this emergency room had said we had given this shot too late and he wouldn't have made it...why charge us $900 for nothing then you could've just said that it was a lost cause...they're just there for the money till this day we asked for a refund but we didn't get one. DONT GO HERE! read more
