I had a great experience at Long Beach Endodontix. My first appointment was a consult at which I scheduled very last minute because I had a family member that was being seen in the same building... I called LB endo the morning of and they were able to accommodate me the same day and even the same time as my family member being seen in another office. The lady scheduling me was very professional and efficient. I also liked I was able to fill out any new patient forms prior to the appointment to make my wait time quicker. I was seen by Dr.Vahora and he made me feel very comfortable with his recommendation of a root canal on a tooth that has been giving me problems for quite a while now. Any questions I had he answered. The day of my appointment I was quite nervous as this was my first root canal treatment. The assistant played a post op care video while I was for Dr.Vahora to see me. I liked that because it saved time and answered any questions I had for after treatment care. I definitely over thought the procedure because it was actually a breeze. Dr.Vahora and his assistant were very efficient. He made sure I was comfortable through out the entire procedure asking me multiple times if i was doing okay. He gave me updates and let me know what step he was on. When he said there was only 5 minutes left I was pleasantly surprised. They made my treatment go by so quick. My whole appointment from start to finish was painless. Truly great experience here. I had to get a root canal done and I am so happy to have found Long Beach Endodontix. Every single staff member I interacted with was kind and professional. I was already planning on spending 1hr-1.5hrs getting the procedure done but I was pleasantly surprised when I was told by the endodontist that it would only take 30 minutes and it really did! She was quick and gentle, no pain through out the appointment and I felt completely comfortable with her. I came in for a front tooth root canal. The office is clean, and the front desk staffs are super friendly. Jonathan remembered our names and helped me with all the paperwork and appointments. The office even offered discounts because I had no insurance. I only gave a four star because Dr Hutchens was in such a rush the whole time. The consultation was extremely short (around 2 minutes). I had done two root canals before in Utah where the doctor walked me through the entire process. I understand doctor's time is very expensive, but root canal is a scary procedure. I wish Dr Hutchens had explained what each of the steps were going to be. The worst part was when Dr Hutchens administrated the anesthetics. I had just sat down in the chair and the assistant had put on some numbing cream on my gums. Before I knew it, the doctor came in with the needle and just kept going with shots after shot. There were no explanations, no warning before hand, or any signs to prepare me for what is probably the most painful part of the procedure. In previously procedures, my dentist had always given a couple of warnings and told me exactly what is going to happen. They also checked in with me in between shots. TLDR, I am giving a 4 star because the office staff were amazing, and the doctor is indeed skilled at performing the surgery. But Dr Hutchens could have been more communicative and patient through each surgical step. read more

I really do want to be fair so I chose my words carefully. Your response appears to be a cut and paste of your response to someone who had the same experienced in your office 11 months prior. You make it a point to say that "in the event of an infection or swelling", there is potential for more pain. I did not have either, it was a textbook procedure. In fact, the root canal it self was ok and not painful really. It also appears to be a success as it appears that I will get to keep the tooth and the pain and discomfort that I was feeling has subsided and for that I am grateful. It's the administering of novocaine and how you went about that process that went terribly wrong. You failed to care that there was a living human being at the other end of that needle. You waited zero seconds before the next injection and the next and the next. Even when I clearly gave you signals that it was excruciating, you just kept reaching for the next injection. I literally had to sit up and ask you to stop. I had tears in my eyes from the pain. You basically said nothing. Simply told me that I did not have to continue if I did not feel comfortable. This after all that pain. To now try and explain that it's to be expected due to an infection or swelling, neither of which apply, is even more insulting. Your apology is not genuine but thank you. Its been over a week and I still have terrible bruising and some swelling. I hope that this helps others be informed and make the best decision for themselves. read more

Came here on a referral from my dentist, Dr. Beebe, due to a possible need for a root canal. Was able to get an appointment with Dr. Hutchens within a couple of days. Front office staff was friendly and professional, as were dental techs. X-rays were taken of the affected tooth, Dr. Hutchens reviewed and did an exam, and due do a cold test which showed no nerve response on that tooth, determined that a root canal was indeed required. He explained what the procedure would entail, and front staff gave a detailed estimate of fees and insurance coverage. Dr. Hutchens did an excellent job of administering numbing meds and after a brief wait for those to kick in, began the procedure, which went very well. Dr. Hutchens clearly reviewed the results with me. Took about 1/2 hour, I believe. Day after, feeling great, only very minimal gum pain. Overall I would highly recommend Dr. Hutchens and Long Beach Endodontix! read more

I had always feared the concept of a root canal, imagining a great deal of pain and drilling work. Long Beach Endodontix and Dr. Vahora proved that his work was anything but. The staff was outstanding and welcoming and had me in and ready to go in just a few minutes. Dr. Vahora explained everything and went right to work. Only one hour later, I was ready to go on with my day. Except for the pin-prick of the shots, which they numbed my gums beforehand, everything was painless. I was in terrible pain due to an infected root canal as a result of my terrible dental hygiene (but that's neither here nor there) and was referred to LB Endodontix last minute at 2pm. Not only did they see me the same day and treat the root canal but they did it all politely, professionally and personably. I find it rare to get all three from any medical practice but everyone there seemed genuinely concerned and compassionate. Clean and modernized office along with state of the art equipment and caring staff make it a rare gem in the world of Endodonists. Or maybe I'm just biased because they fixed my tooth. Who knows? Went into my apt. very nervous at the thought of the drills.. the uncomfortableness.. the pain.. etc... Dr. Vahora is a dream! This review is waayyyy long overdue! I was referred to this office by my son's dentist. Office is CLEAN and they do offer coffee and water. Staff are super friendly! Johnny was the best! He really gets to know the patients & their families, you can tell he really cares and very sociable. His customer service is superb! You won't feel awkward sitting in the waiting area. You can tell patient care is important in this office -- and this is coming from a nurse. Dr. Hutchens is knowledgeable and explains everything thoroughly. My son states he felt comfortable during a root canal procedure and didn't feel any pain. Keep in mind, my son states he didn't need any pain meds after. I would recommend anyone to this office. I went to Long Beach Endodontix for 2 Root canals. I am pleased to highly recommend them because like most people I have sensitive teeth when it comes to any type of drilling. DR HUTCHEN's and Staff are incredibly quick - incredibly gracious - incredibly caring and professional - No pain during or after my root canal procedure. I drove myself into a complete panic the night before and for no good reason - Honestly.... I drove up, parked, got checked in by the lovely front desk staff, went over financial details, had a few xrays, discussed the root canal process, sat back, dosed out for about 45 minutes, rinsed my mouth, thanked everyone for being so freaking awesome, checked out, got in my car and drove home. His injections of the local anesthesia were painless and the entire procedure went well and I healed nicely. Again, Dr. Hutchen's is horrible and callous at numbing, but to be fair, the root canal he performed was a success.
